What if...
Ghostbusters, the movie, was shot in 1954 instead of 1984? Who would be part of the cast? What would their equipment look like? Who would they battle? Considering that ghost-busting movies have been around since the time of Bob Hope, Abbott and Costello, and Lewis and Martin comedies of the 40s and 50s, it is not that big of a stretch to speculate.
I hope you enjoy this re-imagined concept for Ghostbusters.

I love that they used the theme from the original "Ghostbuster" saturday morning series starring Forrest Tucker and Larry Storch.
I remember watching the animated version a whole bunch as a kid, before I knew there was ANOTHER property using the name. Life in 2011 was a bit weird back then.
Yes! LOL! Thank you folks for that! The 75 series felt like an Abbot and Costello movie!
I honestly would’ve like to pay $10 at my local theater just to see Bob Hope, Dean Martin, Fred MacMurray, Willie Best, Jerry Lewis, Lizabeth Scott, AND Paulette Goddard all at once facing off against a giant marshmallow and Flubber.

I bet movies like this would've existed in the Fallout timeline.

My Favorite lines in this trailers: "Now, relax, will ya, it's only a quarter to 12 and you know it's against Union rules for the Ghosts to start walkn' before Midnight."
"Your watch must be slow, there's one now."
"ARE YOU A GOD?"
"She's just trying to scare us."
"Well, she's wastin her time cause we're scared already."
I would've loved to have heard those lines in the real movie.

The 3 Stooges would have made a wonderful cast for Ghost Busters.

From one film geek to another, I salute you. This is so cool. You had me fooled until I started recognizing a few of the shots from different films. Again, you have a really great idea here. I want to see more of these!
@BlueSkyeReynolds That's probably one of the best comments I've received for my videos. One of my goals in making these trailers is to have people rediscover all these amazing films that people have forgotten about.

It is an interesting trailer. I'm actually courious to know, what is the make, model and year of the car the ghostbusters drove in this trailer? I'm sorry for sounding rude I'm just curious as a old classic cars fan.

The Ecto-1 in this trailer is a 1960 Mercury Station Wagon. Which is a cool choice, but kind of weird considering that the trailer year is 1954.

Awesome job. Kinda surprised you didn't have Fred MacMurray as Stanz, he's almost a perfect 50s analog for Dan Aykroyd.

...that's the point. Did you not watch it all the way through? It has a disclaimer at the end., and there's one clearly in the description.
If Ghostbusters had been made in 1950s, Dean Martin surely would have played in it.
Bob Hope was in a movie called "The Ghost Breakers",so the clips he was in were from that film.
@TroyCorn no man I don't think so...the original concept story was focused on three scientists characters. In fact, still in the Ivan Reitman movies, Winston (Ernie Hudson) is not a scientist. No racism.

Instead of boxes, the 1954 Ghost Trap is a mound of Flubber.
I think that might be the ectoplasmic residue left over from a ghost they were hunting, like leaving a foot print at a crime scene.

The ambulance is of the same era and type as in the 80's films, but it's a great example of the dieselpunk genre.
I'm not sure what's more awesome, the star trek footage, or the music from the original tv show featuring the F-Troop guy.

LMAO!!!! The funniest is how the Proton Beam sound FX is the exact same as the 1980's sound FX.
Very cool, the only mistake i see is that the wagon at 0:21 is a 1960 Mercury.
Saw this movie in the 60s as a child & loved it, A real classic for it's era. 84 Ghostbuster's was good but did not have the charm the 54 movie had!
@melani411 ~ Martin and Lewis did a film called "Scared Stiff" There's a "Spook Busters" with Huntz Hall and the Bowery Boys where Bob Hope plays a skeleton without a credit. I don't know what the film is that he's doing the intro for in this clip.

This is the greatest spoof I have ever seen.
That and also a old series made back in the days was the original series,that also based the filmation's ghost busters.
That cartoon was the reason that the one based on the movie was called 'The Real Ghostbusters'.

When I was a kid... I always wondered how modern films would look if they had been done at times prior to the usage of big-time special effects. Clearly you have put ALOT of thought into this as well! This realy looks like a 50's attempt at this film! (The only thing missing is the Les Tremaine narration!)
I really enjoy this premake! I am huge fan of Ghostbusters and love how this was done. You did a great job with it. Keep up the good work! Happy busting!
