I was a kid when I first saw this at the drive-in, and I laughed so hard! I mean, King Kong, Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan... and now the _StayPuff Marshmallow Man???_ I loved this movie!
As a kid I remember crying because I felt so sad for Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man when they started hurting him. I couldn't even watch this movie again for years. I *_LOVED_* Stay-Puft and still do. Poor guy 😔
I feel you bro.. for me it happened like this. I knew and i was a fan of the cartoon real Ghostbusters when i was around 10 because i was watching it during the weekend cartoons among Transformers, Gi Joe etc WITHOUT knowing there was a movie Ghostbusters!!! And around Christmass 1991, i suddenly saw the tv trailer of the movie Ghostbusters that was about to be aired in tv and i went like..wtf ?? They made a movie out of the cartoon?? Shit i have to see it !!! And then i saw the movie (i recorded it on VHS also) and i had the same epic blast as you!! Somewhere down the road i realised that the movie preceeded the cartoon!! Innocent ages without internet
@classiccasualgaming Yes, he did look like he was crying when he was being blasted. Also, while this is just a movie, I like to think in real life there is no such thing as a crybaby and Fred Rogers says on his show "Mister Rogers Neighborhood" that you are never too old to cry out of sadness and crying is not just for babies just because it's a babies communication and if someone calls someone else a crybaby, they're bullying them.
@@mung01re I would definitely think that especially since Stay Puft is marshmallow, and fire (the hot proton packs) would be an enemy to marshmallow which Stay Puft is. I'm sure there are a lot of ghosts who have made an agony face like Stay Puft here but, we just don't see their faces since they're quickly being zapped and trapped.
William Atherton has said, that it took him close to a decade to live down his image in the movie. When the movie came out and even for years afterward people would point at him at shout "Hey look everybody, it's DICKLESS!"@@davidchism6081
I love the part where Walter Peck gets covered in molten marshmallow as karma for his actions towards the Ghostbusters. Too bad that part has been left out in this skit.
Gozer might be evil, but it's not a dick. It understood that the concept was being explained to the others and allowed them to be fully informed so they could choose an appropriate form for the Destructor.
Heres how: When they crossed the streams, they immediately run away, hiding behind stones and hiding in the original spot where they planned to cross the streams. So the flames could not reach them and burn them but they were defintely burning up and getting hot and thats when they got covered in marshmallow which i guess cooled them down a little bit
Fun fact; Due to Stay Puft going out of business after the filming of this movie, the Marshmallow Man had lost his job being company mascot having to seek new employment. Shortly after, he was putting in a few applications and using this movie for being a big credibility on his resume. He finally found a job being a mascot for a tire company and ended up being the Michelin Man.
Take note of the fact that Gozer dodged the beams at first. It was drawing their attention away from the gate. Gozer recognized that they could send it back by blasting the gate. It’s easy to see that the beams couldn’t hurt Gozer, even in the form of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, it was barely affecting it.
Sigo agradeciendo que en Afterlife le dieron al fín mas tiempo en pantalla a Gozer, mucho no me gusta que acá solo salga 3 minutos y ya se transforme en Marshmallow.
If someone asks you if you’re a god, YOU SAY YES!
All right this chick is TOAST!
And the next time he actually said YES. XD
Ray did say "Yes" in the GB Afterlife movie. It didn't work too 😢
Lol 😂😂😂😂😂❤
@classiccasualgaming yeah he did 😮
The expression on stay puft after the explosion gets me every time.
It is more funny in GD afterlife XD
😮
😮
No one saw that Cummings
I love the fact that Vencman said "go get her Ray" as karma for the library ghost.😂
Venkiman
I love Winston's line "Ray, when someone asks you if you're a god, you say YES"
"Ray, when someone asks you if you're a god, you say YES!!!" Years later, Ray would remember that lesson in Ghostbusters Afterlife.
2:40
*Ray will remember that
The special effects still hold up after 40 years
“We get this guy laid we won’t have any trouble…”
Bill Murray…😂
Back then, I thought he meant put Stay Puft down as in kill him
I was a kid when I first saw this at the drive-in, and I laughed so hard! I mean, King Kong, Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan... and now the _StayPuff Marshmallow Man???_ I loved this movie!
we need lot of drive-in movies.
As a kid I remember crying because I felt so sad for Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man when they started hurting him. I couldn't even watch this movie again for years. I *_LOVED_* Stay-Puft and still do. Poor guy 😔
Some how I got nightmares from stay puff. Maybe once a year or couple years I get a nightmare where he is either romancing around or hunting me.
Grow up
I just remember finding it funny, a marshmallow monster. That's a master strategy right there.
@@No-dy3zk stay puff or stay puft?
Well when stay puft appeared didn't you hear sirens I love sirens
Every line from Murray's mouth is comedy gold in this scene.
As a 5 year old boy in 1989... this was beyond epic

Stay Puft's face looks like a stressful crying baby when blasted with those proton packs
@classiccasualgaming Yes, he did look like he was crying when he was being blasted. Wouldn’t _you_ be a little distressed by being shot with nuke lasers?

"..I'm terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought..."lol
THIS MOVIE IS SO NOSTALGIC
I love how Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd were legit high when they were writing this scene
Your kind is why I usually don't feel sorry about people during tragedies.
Aww, cut off right before the mean guy got glopped with molten marshmallow.
That actor almost always got wrecked in nearly every film he was in. Imagine having THAT job, lol. 😂
The guy: I hate you, Venkman!!!
William Atherton has said, that it took him close to a decade to live down his image in the movie. When the movie came out and even for years afterward people would point at him at shout "Hey look everybody, it's DICKLESS!"@@davidchism6081
Isn't he the same douchebag from Die Hard?
RIP Harold Ramis
Alright this chick is toast. Great line
I read this right as he said that
I love the part where Walter Peck gets covered in molten marshmallow as karma for his actions towards the Ghostbusters. Too bad that part has been left out in this skit.
I saw this when I was a kid in the theater. Good times.
R u a God 😂
Ray the next time someone asks you. are you a God you say yes lol 😂😂😂😂😂
My favorite part❤
I cracked up at that scene 😂
5:39 what I clicked for😂
Wat
Ray?
I guess the marshmallow man lost, lol.
I love how in afterlife he says he is a god
Ray has gone bye bye Earl. What have you got left Egon ?
“Sorry Venkman I’m too terrified beyond capacity for rational thought.” That Egon’s reply.
Notice how Venkman didn't bother asking Winston if he had an idea. 🤔
I love in 2
Bobby Brown song On Our Own that song hardly get any respect ❤
"i love this plan, im excited to be a part of it" still have tears from laughing so many years later 😂
7:49 love this shot
This job isn’t worth $11.5 a year. Man how have things changed since the 80s.
He looks like the Pillsberry doughboy
My g was just vibin
So where’s J Edgar Hoover? I never got that.
But I LOVE THIS SCENE 🎉
Gozer might be evil, but it's not a dick. It understood that the concept was being explained to the others and allowed them to be fully informed so they could choose an appropriate form for the Destructor.

That’s average florida night
2:40 Ray will remember this! XD
Ray...? Oh come on Ray!!
When you watch this as a kid you don’t notice the swearing but when your older you do
How the ghostbusters could have possibly survived the tremendous explosion of the building top ? It's a film.
Heres how:
When they crossed the streams, they immediately run away, hiding behind stones and hiding in the original spot where they planned to cross the streams.
So the flames could not reach them and burn them but they were defintely burning up and getting hot and thats when they got covered in marshmallow which i guess cooled them down a little bit

This scene make me Nearly Blind 0:09
Why marshmallow..why not Joe Edgar Hoover???😂
Ray might have already been thinking about it before, "it just popped in there!"
Plus Venkman was giving an example of what Gozer meant as "choose the form of the destructor!"
7:20 mechanical arm by Stay Puft right leg?
Actually yes
6:22 when I watched this when I was 12 it gave me goosebumps and thats how stay puft became my favorite😅😅😅😅😅

Stay puft of marshmallow man is helpful not bad 😊
It's Miller time!! Bill Murray
Note to self if someone asks you if you're a god you say yes!
Ghostbusters The Videogame: Gozer chose to appear as Stay-Puft, its stuck with it
Ghostbusters Afterlife: nah, who needs RULES?
is the Stay Puft Marshmallow man a Kaiju?

now i see where Michelin tires got their inspiration for Michelin Man. LOL
it's no wonder it always felt so familiar like I've seen it before.
But ofcourse you know the Michelin logo is more than a hundred years old, right? :)
Well there's something you don't see every day...
I was watching this on my phone, and during the part where the door was opening, my phone just turned off for no reason.
