The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX is an updated version of an older GB game ( tasvideos.org/... ) which adds color, an additional dungeon, various other minor features, and a lot of bug fixes. Link, after rescuing Hyrule (again?), sets off on a journey and subsequently shipwrecks on the mysterious Koholint Island, which has been overtaken by evil monsters which he must defeat in order to find a way back home.
In this TAS, TwistedTammer ( tasvideos.org/... ) goes through the entire game collecting all the permanent inventory items, which includes heart pieces, L2 upgrades, capacity upgrades, photographs, and the colored tunic upgrade exclusive to the DX version of the game. However this run does avoid some major glitches in order to make the viewing experience more enjoyable.

One of the best games in the franchise, without a doubt.
This run captures my experience of dreaming much better than casual play-throughs of the game.
Dude what a stupid fuckin' ending...I'm supposed to beieve that Link is lost at sea on a wooden board and sees that wierd whale thing and is happy? It's most likely a halllucination from not eating or drinking. He's gonna die out there bro.
Before the Windfish showed up there were seagulls. Seagulls only show up near land.

Twisted tammer had a ton of fun making this tas. I can tell because theres a bunch of extra stuff that doesn't add time, but is more work than just the optimal stuff. Well done! Thanks for destroying my favorite Zelda game again.

Man link does not give a fuck. Dude washes up on some island and just goes. Aw shit here we go again, runs to find his sword. Proceeds to rob a merchant blind and then bend reality to his will. Wakes some magic space whale up and finds out he fell in love with a seagull. This version of the hero of time has seen some shit with like what 5/6? adventures under his belt what a chad.
I wish I had this version when I was younger. The colors and those nice pictures gives that extra identity to the game.
When you realize that Link can't talk and most likely can't understand them and is just stumbling on stuff

Having on Playback speed: 2 makes it even more extraordinary and more exciting to watch! Makes sense. I was hoping for a deathless/good ending as well but I understand why that was skipped for TAS.

@@Aesculathehyena Technically yes, but it's underwhelming. It involves having 0 deaths the entire playthrough. If you're interested in seeing it, you should youtube it. It also stayed with the switch remake as well :)

I agree. This needs to be done again, without getting killed once. Its not 100%.
100% normally has to do with collecting items, not best ending. You could also argued that "Not all 26 shells were collected, all chests weren't opened, he didn't kill all enemies, he didn't go to all screens etc.
