    I recently renovated my kitchen with beautiful glass-front cabinets, and I want to put some pretty canisters and jars in there. So I'm going to use my Cricut to create my own DIY pantry labels that look good AND are easy to read, and I'm going to show YOU how to do it, too!
    I appreciate every subscriber. It's free and easy to subscribe -- just click here: bit.ly/sub2jenn...
    MATERIALS LIST (contains my affiliate links):
    View my Amazon Shopping List for this project at www.amazon.com...
    * Smart Label writeable vinyl OR Self adhesive label paper (white amzn.to/2ViCQcF or clear - amzn.to/2v4a5FC )
    * Fine-point (0.4) pen for your Cricut Joy - or Cricut Explore/Maker - amzn.to/37TD24N
    * Containers (I used OXO Pop Containers - amzn.to/2Pek8yV - and Mason Jars)
    * Isopropyl alcohol
    * Lint-free cloth (or coffee filter)
    * Clear acrylic spray sealer (optional, used to waterproof labels to keep the ink from running when washed) - amzn.to/38PJFpJ
    * Cricut Cutting mat (NOT needed if using the Smart Label vinyl on the Joy) - and for the Explore/Maker - amzn.to/35vNsXF
    * A way to cut the project (I used the amazing Cricut Joy -- see jennifermaker.... )
    * My free SVG cut files for the label shapes and penned script ingredient names (Design # 189) (available in my free resource library at jennifermaker.... )
    To make DIY pantry labels on a Cricut, you want either full-sheet label paper or the Cricut Smart Label writeable vinyl on a roll. I prefer the Cricut Smart Label vinyl's look and feel, and it sticks better and is less likely to pick up food/grease, too.
    You also need some canisters and jars to label -- I'm using OXO Pop Containers as well as regular Mason jars in various sizes. If you use Mason jars, look for ones with smooth sides, as your label will stick to those better than ones with raised designs.
    Now, I'm going to use my Cricut cutting machines to cut AND write my pantry labels. You can make these on any Cricut, but in this tutorial I'm going to show you how to make them on a Cricut Joy and a Cricut Maker... but an Explore would also do. The advantage to using the Cricut Joy is you can use the Smart Label material without a mat, and it's easier to take the Cricut right into the kitchen with you as you label your things.
    Oh, and you need a pen for your DIY pantry labels! I'm using a black fine-point Cricut pen, which is a .4 millimeter size. The size of your pen tip matters if you use my designs. Your Cricut can write and decorate your pantry labels with the pen right in the machine and they look fabulous!
    Last but not least, you need a design for your pantry labels -- it can be simple or fancy, it's completely up to you. I'm going to show you how to make three different styles -- a super easy simple label, a big, easy-to-read bold label, and a fancy script label that is totally on trend. I'll even show you my tricks for getting the Cricut pen to fill in the fonts for bolder and more beautiful pantry labels!

    I’m sure you will be happy that I finally finished two rows of labels at last. Only took three boxes before success! Shut down iPad completely as well as copying someone else’s label in design space to teach the Joy how to do it. Then did my own with your lesson. Thank you so much!

    i was interested in the Cricut Joy awhile ago and thought it might be a waste of time since I am an artist and created my own designs. BUT watching your" Maker vs. Joy "video sold me on Cricut Joy. I need labels and the Joy saves time. Even the product comparison was very instrumental in my decision. Great job. Funny story, but I was in Michaels looking at the card stock that was buy one get two free, when another woman walked up and was looking at the same thing. None of the paper pads had any weight listed, so I struck up a conversation, hoping maybe she knew something I didn’t. That’s when she told me she was getting it to make paper flowers. What a coincidence, so was I! I happened to mention the Cricut, then she said she follows this person Jennifer Maker, and OMG, me too! We proceeded to talk for almost an hour, looking for the right weight paper, checking the internet to research what paper is best, exchanged phone numbers and discussed our crafting experiences. At some point my husband came into the store to find me, saw me talking to a fellow crafter, turned around and said I’ll wait for you in the car, lol. It was great finding someone with a common interest!

    So many do not have the funds to test other non-brand materials unless they have something already on hand ... this helps. Tho I'd love to have seen the other labels used you had there too.

    I only have a Cricut Joy and I am very new to designing. I have found it a little hard when trying to create my own design. Your video is designed with the Maker. I am totally lost with cartridges, etc.

    Thank you so much for this video! I've seen all the videos just bragging on this joy and the label vinyl and my question was "what is stopping me from trying this smart label vinyl on my maker" and I kept trying to find videos and I thank you for finally making one! Also, I had never thought to use normal label paper so thank for you that too!

    It's a different label maker. where you are gonna wanna label everything. cause It's self adhesive. I didn't expect her to show where the Ink comes from to print on the cricut. It's so simple. what a amazing machine. It's so neat, danty and cute. I have two Ink tanks , that scream at me In pop ups, lol, ohhhh It's low on Ink, after a couple of design prints.
