    Thank you for this video! I'm working in country where they don't sell Seat vehicles, and my cordoba only shares parts with VW vehicles ALSO not sold here. It does share some parts with VAG vehicles here but nobody knows what they are and the SEAT dealership back home is closed today and tomorrow. • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  4 года назад +1

      Take the fuse out for the pump and start the car. Run it a bit to release the pressure from the tank. Fuel vapour is what makes the tank explode so a full tank has less vapour. If you drain the tank it is likely you will leave some fuel in it or the pump so I wouldn't recommend it. Use PPE and NO means of ignition nearby :-)

      sounds like an injector isn't working correctly to me. It could be you have a leak on one of the feed pipes so worth a check and vacuum need to be looked at. also have a look at the inter-cooler pipe to see if it has split and drain it of oil - an easy fix. If you can access an obd2 reader that will monitor live data you might be able find the issue when it happens.

      Do you mean 'the car uses more fuel' ? if this is happening I don't think so as there are 2 pumps one in the tank and one on the engine. If things are corroded they can be difficult and messy so use a bowl underneath, clean rags and be carful pulling the pipes off which maybe stiff and need a bit of persuading to get off. once off the new one is easy and remember to put the pipes on the right connections. • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  Год назад +1

      Could be a number of things. First thing to consider is the Kms and the servicing done. Fuel related could just be it needs a new fuel filter. Is the battery powerful and charged to around 12.6Volts, if old then you could check if cranking amp is enough. have you cleaned/replaced the EGR/inlet manifold? Air filter? Oil changed? Throttle body, MAF, MAP, vacuum leaks? Injectors clogged/failed. Sorry the list could go on. maybe Just the battery, if you have a volt meter you can check it easily for nothing, then work on from there doing the stuff that doesn't cost first, eliminating as you go. Hope this helps :-)

      Is that reading when you rev the engine? as it should change from lower reading, if so probably ok it should go down to about 7gm/s at idle. If high kms then the injectors may need cleaning or replacing. worst case - water in the exhaust could be head gasket. I would try replacing MAF first then see what if anything changes.

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  2 года назад +1

      I would check the connectors and earthing is OK. check the earthing to the body at the battery first then use a known 12v supply and check the earth at the pump if no joy then it is the earth, if OK then you need to find the break in the power supply cable by tracing back. Check with a meter for continuity resistance if you want, but often it will be obvious.

What has been checked/replaced? What/any dashboard lights on? Has the EGR valve/throttle body MAF been cleaned? Fuel filter been changed? Black smoke? oil usage? have you checked for vacuum and PCV blockage/ leaks? Sorry for the list of the most likely, but could be a number of things.

      @patrikul 4 года назад

      @@HatBoyHarvey Thank you for the reply, yes, I held it for some time and it didn't change, the voltage is good both in static and running, at the service the tester didn't show anything wrong, then again my 1.2 Fabia 47KW isn't that new and full of sensors anyway :) it has 180K km no lights on the dash, most of the things that can be cleaned were cleaned, the fuel filter barely has 1000 km on it since I changed it recently, there are no leaks that I can notice. What is odd to me is that this only happens when I turn on the engine the first time after sitting for like 1 day but rarely even after sitting for 3 days it starts perfectly without a problem. When the revs are higher if I try to press the gas fast for a bit then let go the revs go way down to like 500 and the engine struggles for a few moments choking then returns to like 1100, normal being around 900. Could the return solenoid on the left cause the issue? Since my mechanic showed me that it's not working, probably disabled from the software since it doesn't get any voltage but the actual solenoid works, it just doesn't get any signal. thanks for loads of usefull information since i have the same car haha! Also i'd like to ask you a few questions cus i have some issues and maybe you know the answers. so first of all recently my car started stalling every once in a while being in a 2nd or 3rd gear at around 1.7k rpm's, sometimes when i turn car on rpm's randomly jump to 2k and then goes back to normal idling at 1k. did some google research and i figured it might be a MAF sensor? Also when accelerating fast to roughly 90 miles turbo just shuts off and theres no power at all. however when i shut the engine off and then turn it back on everything works just fine and turbo works good. those two are the main problems but theres more! :D i'm not sure if my dashboard is working fully. when theres ignition i can see stuff on dashboard however one time i drove a mile or so with my hand brake on and it beeped like crazy but it didn't show up on dash and it took me a while to figure whats wrong with car ( i have a feeling it should show me faults on dash but i just doesnt.). any ideas on how to check the dashboard? thanks again and if you have any ideas please let me know. cheers.

      I would clean the MAF as it is easy to do and test. ruclips.net/video/__PeGOxXXmA/видео.html
      also ruclips.net/video/oZxAmZqSZ4U/видео.html
      then check for vacumn leaks. make sure the oil is good and filter has been changed and also the fuel filter. go over electrical connections/ ECU, test the fuel pump as in this video and maybe go further and pressure test. Battery good? When it seems to be running ok, does it give poor economy? does the overheat? is it very high Kms. If the dash isn't working for sure it may effect somehow/not sure. Do the cheap stuff first then maybe use OBD2 like vagcom to investigate futher. :-)

When propelling in the morning the engine stutters and has difficulty starting, after it succeeds there are explosions of irregular propulsion and then it stabilizes I have in my possession a Skoda Fabia 2008 gasoline engine 1400, thanks again

      Try the simple and cheap things first. Has it been damp overnight? moisture on plugs leads and associated components can be repelled with liberal dousing with WD-40. Could be as simple as using E10 fuel. Fuel filter been changed, new plugs? The crankcase breather system /pcv valve gets clogged. MAP sensor, EGR etc cleaning, head gasket inspected? there are a number of things it could be so I would try to have it hooked up with vagcom preferably when it is doing it.

    Hi, I need to replace the crankcase breather vent hose pipe on my Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI, ASAP. Can you tell me how to do it or maybe post a short video about it. Thanks

      I will have a look into this and put it on my video list. Hope you get it sorted OK. What are your symptoms?

    • @Daniel.Romaniuc
      @Daniel.Romaniuc 4 года назад

      @@HatBoyHarvey Actually it seems to be a very simple procedure but I might mess it up anyway. The pipe is leaking oil from the middle section wich means it's burst.

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  4 года назад

      @@Daniel.Romaniuc Yes, you need to replace it or eventually loose too much oil. It may have burst because of pressure so replace/clean out all the breather pipe system if you can :-)

    • @Daniel.Romaniuc
      @Daniel.Romaniuc 4 года назад

      @@HatBoyHarvey I replaced it with a new one, the hose has no clamping mechanism, you just have to pull on it to remove it and then press to connect the new one. Looks like I lost some oil that got on the engine so it's not a bad idea to take off the engine cover and check that everything is in order from time to time. Thanks for these videos, with your help I managed to successfully replace all the filters and oil, which I initially thought was too complicated to do it myself.

    On my Octavia i replaced the Pump, measures with 12v circuit works, ohms are working, but my gauge still showing empty when tank is full. ? Plase help, what else could be the problem?

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  2 года назад

      Perhaps you should take it out and move the float connected and see if it works then, fiddle with the connection to see if there is an issue there also. Then you could suspect the wiring to the cluster unit and if necessary do a continuity test on the wires, but usually a visual is all that's needed to find a broken wire or bad connection. Could be the gauge in the cluster, but unlikely.

    Hi there I have a SKODA Fabia 2001 model and I've measured the resistance of the fuel pump. It was 1.6 ohms. However when I put power to it through the relay and directly from a 12volt source I get nothing. Not even a hum. Your thoughts

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  3 года назад

      If you have power at the connector and it doesn't work then it doesn't work. check the connectors are tight and the earth is good.

    • @trevorbethell8695
      @trevorbethell8695 3 года назад

      @@HatBoyHarvey ok I had bypassed the connector and ran a direct line straight to the pump. Still got nothing. When I touched the leads on to the terminals I got a small spark but no other result with the pump.

      Hey there thanks for the info on the pump, it was faulty however I have another problem with my Fabia. When locking doors from my driver's side using the lock/unlock button inside the car, the locks all lock but the driver side and rear left reopen immediately. And sometimes following the windows go down. Your thoughts sir???

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  2 года назад

      Probably this is down to a worn microswitch in the door lock or frayed wires behind the rubber a pillar bellows, usualy on the drivers side :-)

      Check the wireing/connection is correct and has good earth. then use vagcom to test and calibrate the gauge. If need be take the pump out, connect up and move the arm see check pos mechanical contact issue.

    Octavia relay knocking while driving and also vehicle stops and car engine stops while driving .and again starts when ignition on

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  4 года назад

      The relay will click when in use. if you think it maybe faulty, just changing it is easiest option. You can test it, but fault maybe intermittent so new one is cheap and quicker. Does it click repeatedly? If so then it maybe a wiring or connection issue if not then filter, pump, fuel pressure, fuel leak, blockage. OBD2 may indicate something also.

    my fabbia mk2 1.6 tdi is reading code p009100?
    fuel pressure regulator 1 control circuit low ???
    where is the regulator located???? thank you !!

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  3 года назад

      I'm not familiar with this engine, but it should be at the end of the injector rail, either on the left or right. The current wet weather may have given rise to damp on connections. If there is a vacuum pipe on the regulator, check for leaks.

    Hello my friend ...can you tell us with word or video how we can read OE code or OEM ..exempel in autodoc how to find my car code because i do not know how to read or to find in Skoda fabia book bthway i have skoda fabia 1.2 12V 2006 Ambiente TME

      Not exactly sure what you need. All your vehicle ID numbers are on a sticker under the rear carpet luggage compartment. if it is a hatchback it is 6Y2, a saloon 6Y3 combi 6Y5. The chassis number is there also on window. Autodoc sell alternative parts with their own numbers so you need to ignor them and use OEM number for your car. If you input your model and engine size and year you should get the right part, check with them by mail before buying if you're unsure.
