Needed to remove the lower panel to access the brake light switch. As always a great in depth tutorial. What would we Fab owners do without you Harvey. 👍
Very helpful video. As it can be very awkward fishing the electrics back out through the light swich aperture, it may make life easier to tie a length of string to each of the two sockets and then dangle the sting out through the aperture before fitting the lower dashboard. Then when dashboard is in place, simply pull the sockets through using the string.
The fuse box cover actually has 4 metal clips one of yours is stuck in its housing you can see it and also there is meant to be a top screw goes on the dash before that cover goes on but yours is missing.
I watch your videos and they have helped me a lot for that thank you !!! I have a problem with the refrigerator inside the cabin for hot air. If you can show us where it is and how it comes out ... it asked me for a lot of money for the repair and I want to try it myself !!! thanks!!!
Hi, I have a question about the hose of the "chocolate bar" container. I am installing air conditioning in my Fabia and I would like to add this vent, but there is no information on the internet where to connect the other end of this hose. Can you tell me where under the dashboard this hose should be connected?
You're welcome, have a look at ruclips.net/video/So8m6LwsD4c/видео.html for some explanation of some of the lights. It all depend on which light and what teh car is doing.
Maybe worth having a look at fuses for these items first. If the lights worked before you took the panel off then you may have disturbed something. Take it off again and check all connections and anything you think you disturbed.
@@HatBoyHarvey i replaced the relay for the blowers, windows etc that was all fine and and it worked i was putting the car back together with engine running and the headlights cut out turned the headlights on and off and then they cut out after like 2 seconds again turned the car off and tried to start it again and it won’t start
Turn the wheel 90 deg to right and there is a small hole close to the wheel, unsrew this and also the left, then 2 underneath and one in centre. I will be doing a video on this in a while. Hope this helps :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey The windows only work for roughly ten minutes after resetting. They also don't go up or down when turning and holding the key in the lock. There are two things I've seen listed as the comfort control module, on is much bigger and has lots of plugs and the other smaller with only a few. Any idea which is the one I'll need to replace? P.s. thanks for all the videos you've saved my ass many times :)
confusing I know as this is often listed as being above the accelerator pedal, but that is for LHD cars. To my understanding the convenience control unit for the power windows and central locking is the small one attached to the heater housing above the clutch pedal; the large one is the voltage control unit which relays/carries signals to/from various units and to obd. . Your problem maybe this unit, not unknown, but first check battery voltage to unit, POS current draw/fuse. I would check cables going into both units and also inside the door and connections by the hinge on the A pillar as these are known to generate faults (also door lock microswitches). Over time connections corrode/loosen causing interrupts in the circuits. I wish cars were simple like they where back in the day! Hope this helps :-)
I thought they all came with this feature? may yours doesn't work. The buzzer is behind the binnacle. They stop working when the drivers door micro-switch fails. have you ever had it working?

Thanks, managed to swap out my accel pedal. Couldn't work out how to remove the panel until I saw this.

Thanks, Good idea using string for the connectors as it can sometimes be tricky getting them out to connect to the switch :-)

Yep, well spotted, I'll have to put that top one back in. Those clips do that a lot of fabia panels, but they are easy to put back in place.
Thanks for this video, I had to disassemble dashboard urgently and this video helped me, so thank you so much! 🙂
You're very welcome :-)
Excellent, thank you! I watch your videos, I have a Fabia and I am very happy with her.
Great, thanks for watching, will produce more content soon :-)
Thanks for a great explanation, it helps a lot!

There are relays behind the right hand dashboard under the steering column. Which relay/problem have you :-) ruclips.net/video/Kb1ZQCxus48/видео.html
@@HatBoyHarveythanks for the reply, it is for the front widows, neither of the switches work on either door.
Is this the panel I need to remove to access the comfort control module?
Yes it is indeed, what is wrong with the car?
