Basically, I am asian, from south Korea and rasied by eating meat, milk etc. I am currently living in Australia. I had no idea about vegan or whatsoever before I came here. One day, I found your channel here and I literallly started watching every single videos you posted. And I cried and cried again. I felt shamed as I called myself as an animal lover. I was NOT. So sad and heartbreaking, and coming to Christmas this makes me not want to go to the family Christmas as I am going to see these poor animals on peoples plates. Being the only vegan I feel so alone and angry at times and wish people would get the connection :(

Wish I could but it wouldn't work. I think family is the hardest to deal with in this sort of situation.

I have been a meat eater for 58 years but deep down knew this was wrong. I have found your channel as I start my vegan journey on my own knowing no other vegan. I use a aliens analogy when I'm talking to someone who just doesn't get it, basically it goes along the lines of what if aliens came down to earth and decided humans were really tasty, and to justify the consumption of us they would say we are lower beings compared to them, we use the same reasoning when treating these beings the way we do.

If you want to be consistent with that line of reasoning, then you can't eat plant life either. And before you start talking about sentient beings, yes, they are sentient. You don't need pain receptors to be sentient.

And I always bring up the analogy using the film “War of the Worlds.” I have played it a few times with some friends JUST to get my point across with the role reversal of ‘us vs them.’ It particularly makes an impact during the scene where the alien is walking across land and you see the blood of the caged humans being spewed out, one by one, after it’s eaten them.

Yes, it is. You can really see a glimmer of intelligence in that pig's eye which is closer to the level of human intelligence than most people have previously thought. And, I have seen the same type of glimmer of intelligence in just about every other pigs' eyes in this video, and in almost every pig that I've seen in videos lately. This is something I didn't previously notice, I'm sure the reason being that I was led to believe the same thing many people have been led to believe, that pigs are "just animals"

It's a street based activism event where character masks are worn and activists stand in a square holding either signs or laptops/tablets/TVs. The public get curious and watch the screens. Then other activists (outreach) speak to them about how they feel about what they're seeing and educate them on veganism.
It's incredibly worthwhile. If you're not already, go vegan. If you are, get active ☺️

Everyone in my family eats meat, I’m the only one and it’s been bit more than 4 years than I’m not eating animal flesh. I live in Australia but right now I’m in Italy (my home country) for holidays. This year it’s harder than usual for me, whenever I see meat in my family plates I feel so bad. Maybe it’s because I went to one vigil (same, Diamond Pork Valley) and I went to Edgar’s Mission where I was in contact with animals. All the members of my family have one justification: meat is tasty. I try many times to explain and show them the reality but they decided to ignore. I am glad my partner is vegan too and I’m not completely alone. But why am I the only one in my family who has waken up? I was brainwashed like them from birth, but I changed.
Please people who eat meat and dairy, as you consider your christmas dinners, spare a thought for all these innocent creatures that were tortured and slaughtered. Please think about what it really means; see it. Personally, I'm sickened and find it extremely difficult not to be angry, but in my heart I know that anger isn't the way forward, and hatred for other human beings is not an alternative to eating meat and dairy. But all this pain is happening because of your choices. Please scan your heart and soul and reconsider. We've all got work to do, and its hard but we can all do it.

The email from a vegan police officer that Patty read confirmed that them having to be there at the slaughterhouse is changing many police officers' minds. So it is actually turning out to be beneficial to spread the word about veganism. And at least they're not preventing the activists from going to the trucks.

I just saw one of them and realized, the brief existance of consciousness and awareness he had, he'd been made to suffer in confinement, then killed, unrecognised that they were even sentient beings.
He was a person, with a mind, with thoughts, with a name and he was forgotten in a mass population like him, spending their last minutes confused and terrified as they were taken to a genocide. That could never be prevented.

I can no longer pretend that this mass slaughter does’nt exist. It’s like I’ve been asleep for 40 years. I watched a bunch of dokumentaries on Netflix and it had a huge impact on me.
