I always say it, I am just so glad that the world is moving away from docking and cropping. Look at that Doberman, such beauty when fully intact, and certainly no decreased functionality.
T Nicholas my rottie still has its tail ☺
Cropping/docking is OK Im some circumstances, not all of it is bad.
Jessop and witch circumstances should that be?
Hannes Sturm If the dog is a working dog breed. Many working dog breeds such as the Boxer and Doberman have thin tails that can break easily just by wagging it against something. Hunting dogs such as the Brittany can get their tail hurt in thick brush. Herding dogs like Corgies and Australian Cattle Dogs can get their tails crushed by cattle. As for cropping, it can actually prevent infections and make the ears easier to clean. Cropping and docking isn’t as “barbaric” as many people claim. The dogs don’t remember their tails being docked as they are only a couple of days old when it happens. As for it being painful, we will probably never know about that as docking is done when the nervous system isn’t fully developed. Cropping is done under anesthesia and as long as the dog takes its painkillers it will be less painful. Besides, even if docking and cropping can maybe be traumatic, studies have shown that altering is much more traumatic, especially if the dog is an adult when altered. So yeah, I am for cropping and docking, but only for working dogs.
T Nicholas you are an idiot. If you think that Doberman looks good you are nuts. It’s gross.
The hovawart and that Newfie were absolutely stunning !
That Rottweiler too !
The 1st place and 2nd place dogs are sooooooo cuddly!
nice to watch this
These are some stunning dogs. I really like how the narrators emphasized the importance of soundness several times and that goes for all the group judgings I've watched from this year.
On peut pas choisir ils sont tous magnifiques
The Imported Register Winner was not identified by the TV announcer. I THINK the show announcer said it was the Entelbucher.
When they said he “had an apron on for the slobber” - why did they have to ruin it? I was loving the traditional attire!!
I love love LOVE the full tails and ears and dew-claws!!! :D
I LIKE IT
Very handsome group. Liked the German Pinscher, Giant Schnauzer, GSMD, Entlebucher, Hovawart, Dane, Mastiff, & PWD...and what a cuuuuuutie-pie the winner is, too!!
But the judges are aware that FCI doesn´t require to carry the tail above the loin like it´s custom in the UK? How would such dog from the continent score/examine then in Crufts?
What a newf !! ❤️❤️❤️
I love the Tibetan Mastiff! 😁
The Newfie and Leonberger are gorgeous
Malamute and tibetin mastiff dream dogs!
I LIEKD IT
Go Rottweiler and Siberian Husky!! I do love that Leonberger though
I like your style
gene pool is kept 'pure'...... stupid terms.....
I love Boxer Dogs the best,
but then we have had 3 boxer's
in last umpteen years. I miss
having a dog now.
why do they all strangle their dogs????
Kads R It isn’t strangling, those collars are used to keep the head up which is required in a dog show. If the collar is kept at the neck the dog could pull, if it’s kept closer to the head it establishes more control. Trust me, it isn’t strangling and the dogs do enjoy these dog shows.
Green Paladin I agree my dog loves dog shows when I do them
Das Bienchen actually some dogs really loves it. Had one of them. None of the American Cockers i have now do thou.
The Leonberger's name 'Amicus Optimus Vitalis' is Latin, meaning: The best friend for life.
I love that.
I love the natural tails
Anita Johnston the zdobernan looks ridiculous as does the bouvier. I am actually appalled at the poor quality overall. The Bullmastiff and the Dane are the only really nice dogs in their. The rest are pet quality at best. Hard to watch this. So much unsoundness and just ugly. Brits can’t groom worth a shit either. If these are best I don’t want to see the rest.
@@michelleturner6865 And who said all of them are from Britain?
I am new to this. Shouldn’t the German Shepherd be in this category?
It should be if you ask me. However most of the people at Crufts breed the variety without straight backs, and therefore they place them in the pastoral group. Most working line German Shepherds in the police force I have seen have straight backs. I think it just depends honestly.
No they are in Herding group.
The name German shepherd implies that they are herding dogs, so they are placed in the pastoral group of the KC (UK). They are originally herding dogs, but are used in other activities because of their strength, high intelligence, excellent obedience, trainability and curious, protective temperament.
So, how is it the commentators manage to to pronounce the names of every other breed but, always mangle the name of The Newfoundland. It's not a "New`Find~lind" or, a "Newfound~Lund". They are The "Newf~In~Land, it rhymes with understand. Comm"on.
Bloke on the commentary could barely string a sentence together.
You came for 8:15
saint bernard. newfie. alaskan malamute
I am by no means any expert, but these dogs all look like they have been "shrunk" down for the sake of showing? Any experts out there who can confirm or deny?
elpmettsol actually they are not shrunk at all
@@karinjohansson7262 Maybe just the way it looks on YT?
elpmettsol maybe but i think they look the way they should
why there are no pitbulls? are they forbidden or what?
Pits are terriers, American Pit Bull Terrier. I'm pretty sure they are banned.
Pit bulls is not a pure breed either. It is a collective name for more than one breed.
My favorite group.
...Might i just add - Females running their dogs who carry a fuller-breast-cup-size, really should invest in better bras.
Schnauzer doesn't have a "t" in it...
Leos were never guards either and are rarely suited for the work.
That's how some people pronounce their "T's"
Check out neapolitan mastiff and hovawart and Tibetan mastiff and leonberger
Under which category comes the Caucasian Shepherd Dog? 🤔
The Caucasian Shepherd is classified FSS under AKC rules, however I believe it is generally accepted as working group. I am not sure how Crufts defines it, or if they even consider it a breed yet. You can look at more info for yourself here: www.akc.org/dog-breeds/caucasian-shepherd-dog/
The speaker is very bad at what she does
The newfounland and the st bernard where the best
I would of chosen the rottweiler as well
9:54 🤦OOF can't they just say female or sum? 😂
Bitch is the word for a female dog.
Crufts is good for the agility and the flyball and basically everything but the 'judging'. It's fucking embarrassing that any example of the mastiff type is willing to to be prodded and pushed by a complete stranger. Any knowledge of breeds of the mastiff type will tell you this is wholly unnatural. Showing also has considerable affects on the health of breeds. Look at the health problems that come with extreme examples of brachycephalic skulls and sloping backs for example. Nobody should contribute to this. Dogs should be judged on the traits the breed was bred to have as well as it's health and some relatively vague appearance notes. Such as size, coat colour and shape
Thank goodness Crufts have classes now that show the ability of talented dogs. Some of the pedigree breeding is, in my view questionable when concentrating just on breed standards without paying attention to intelligence and temperament. Too many problems are found in closely bred dogs. The kennel club wanted to impose a standard on the Border collie with it's diverse appearance but unquestionable talent. But don't you just love that German Pinscher?
While I do agree with you about the health problems, please know that this is a dog show. In a dog show, the dogs must allow a stranger to examine them. As such, no matter the breed, they must be extremely well behaved. However, there is the exception with the Fila Brasilerio, which must be examined by the handler because of their extreme distrust of strangers.
the bloody people walking or whatever there doing cant seem to run probably
Kai Hughes-wilkes It’s jogging, and it’s required in a dog show as it’s more to establish the dog’s stride.
