I took John’s music for granted growing up - he was a bit ‘uncool’ to my age cohort. Then I got taken to one of his concerts and I was an instant convert. Yep, he’s our G.O.A.T.
Freddy said John had the best voice on the planet and he was asked to take over when Freddy passed but he didnt want to leave his family for long periods of time. ❤❤ He has been great mates with Brian May for years. 😊
The greatest and most versatile male vocalist of all time, he can sing anything, any genre and has sung in most genres, including opera. I love his performance style, so happy, so energetic, great with his stage presence and interaction with the crowd and his fellow musicians. And those trademark mic and mic stand tricks are amazing, who else can throw the mic stand meters into the air and catch it on the way down while still performing. And this song and many others of John’s have a very powerful and positive message to convey. And John is so amazing live, always listen to live performances when reacting to John, even better than studio.
Nah, John is not just a one man show! John ensures that his band, the symphony orchestra and his audience are all included. Thats why we all know all the members of his band and his backup singers by name. He introduces them at every concert. He tells his audience that they make him sound good! That’s what we love about him! His audience just knows when he wants us to sing it out and we do LOL and if we don’t he calls us out! You missed the mic stand toss and catch, and also the mic stand pick up with his foot. We just love his mic/mic stand tricks and the way he controls his voice with the way he moves his mic. Just for your info, when John recorded this song no radio station at the time would play his songs. Just so pleased that someone did and the rest is history. John is the GOAT. America missed out on the best live singer ever but we rejoiced because he loved Australia and his family so much he really just wanted to perform here! We were blessed!
I've seen John live 17 times, was at this concert and am in this video lol. I'm just one of the very lucky Aussies, whose grown up with Farnsey in my family for 5 generations. My grandmother would dance with me as a 3/4 yr old, up and down her hallway to Sadie or Raindrops, and now I'm the grandmother dancing around my kitchen to Farnsey with my own granddaughters lol. John is more than just a singer to the majority of Aussies, he is genuinely loved, because he has used his talents to support Aussies many times when it's been needed - he has sent truck loads of feed and water to struggling farmers during drought, raised money for disabled kids, raised funds to save our wildlife after fires, he's raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help fund extra equipment for our firefighters and much more. He is a very humble but fun loving man, who cares about other's, and is someone who we look up to with love and pride in our hearts. When John was diagnosed with mouth cancer 2yrs ago, the whole nation went into hospital watch and panic mode, because we just can't stand the thought of him not being here. He's a part of who we are as Australians, because he's entertained us for over 60 years, and we love him dearly ❤
@@clarissarwilliams_ Thank you Clarissa, I appreciate that. Yep, he sure is funny, which makes him even more lovable lol. We are so very lucky to have grown up with John, he's just the best in my opinion ❤
I can relate to this my grandma and mum were also fans and as kids we used to sing raindrops keep falling on my head …. Cryings not for grandma…. He he he because she sang it so often we thought it was about her 😂😂
This is epic. I'm blown away every time I watch this song from John's concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Long Way to the Top with the MSO is superb -my fave cover of the AC/DC classic. Oct'24. UK. E ♥️.
Our John, the G.O.A.T. Australias favorite son and the absolute best there is. He can sing any genre and he loves his band and his audience. This is Australias unofficial anthem. His live performances are the best. Theres nothing wrong with any of his many studio performances, but you just wont see any better than this beautiful, talented man live. Thank you for a great reaction. ❤❤
yes, this song does need to be heard/seen live, luckily John has sung it at all his concerts since 'Whispering Jack' so there is lots of performances to watch, all a bit different but all great, and yes, John is the 'Goat'
Everyone in Australia just loves John Farnham. He’s just the best bloke. He would hate to be called a one man show. His band & backing singers have been with him for decades and we know them all as well as we know John. He’s made sure of that. I’ve been lucky enough to see him live 7 times. He is a phenomenon. Enjoy every moment of “The Voice” John Farnham (Farnum)
Yes, John is our GOAT. ..always was and always will be. You were so right in saying you had to watch the performance as well as listen. You cant have one without the other when listening to John. Thanks for your awesome reaction. ❤
John is definitely THE Goat for me. Love Freddy too, but John..... Ahhhh, can't be beaten. That voice. Not to mention his beautiful spirit. He's the best!❤ thank you for reacting.❤
Such a lovely reaction and appreciation of the legend that is John. You could listen to any of his live performances and be equally impressed he is always better live as he takes it up a notch for his fans. Thanks for your appreciation of our Aussie GOAT ❤❤
Great Reaction and appreciation of our Phenomenal Aussie Legend, John Farnham! Please watch many many more of his hit songs and concerts from the past 4 decades!
Hey man..Ive seen him a lot..What I like is his humility and utter joy!!You can feel it. He does one with an aboriginal man Adam Lambert. Its great. Please watch it ...for joy
You’re right! He’s so much better LIVE. The studio versions are nice but he’s more conservative when he sings. He would usually go to his head voice for the higher notes in the studio versions. But LIVE - boy - he uses his MIX & belts those notes like it’s nothing! An impeccable vocalist and performer. Agree re: Freddie too 😊 John got to perform this with Brian may and Roger Taylor not too long ago now. Rumour has it they once asked John to sing for them (after Freddie passed away).
@@gigisplayground4657 Hi Gigi 😊 You are right, John did record a version of We Will Rock You, it is on the One Voice album 👍 😊 I found this footage of him still killing it at 69 years old singing it. So good if you haven't seen it 😊❤ ruclips.net/video/VtZQU-Oa_2s/видео.htmlsi=V_v-6ntdy97exceq
John sure is the GOAT. Not just of Australia but across the world. He definately stacks up against the world's greats like Freddie, MJ, Elvis and any one else you can name . There's very few singers past or present who can command an audience like he does. And his voice is amazing. I've never heard him hit a bum note ever. He is a legend here in Aus
John's concert is an experience you never forget. A fantastic singer and a great human being. He always gave 110% for his audience and was a great supporter of charities. He always acknowledged his musicians and backing singers and was very loyal to them.
Watching again If you get around to John singing AC/DC's It's a Long Way to the Top with the MSO you'll find that the orchestra has greater prominence - it's a wonderful clip. Also - 1980s - no autotune in those days - everything from John is genuine, no tech trickery at all. Right the way through to his early 70s, when covid stopped the world. Phenomenal. UK. E ❤
Another instrument had been chosen for the solo but John wanted Bagpipes. They found Bagpipes are only in one key so John had to change his key. The song sounded better in a different key. John will not be the one hanging onto his music. He is wonderful and the Orchestra love him.
Yay!! More Farnsey 😅 Thanks mate. Glad you are enjoying the deep rabbit hole of this legend ❤❤ 'You're The Voice' means so much to Australia 🇦🇺 😍 It gives me Goosebumps every time I hear it. No matter which version, it just emanates such emotion and hits you deep down to your soul. Hard to describe how much it means to me...💕 I look forward to your next video. Hi Annie - scrolling through non-subscribed YT channels and it's Farnsey time again - bliss. I've probably now seen/heard every one of his songs/concert performances/documentaries, and other, on YT but it's still a thrill when I come across a Farnsey reaction I haven't seen before. "Long way to the top" might be on the to-do list at some point? Or Touch of Paradise, Age of Reason, See the Banners Fall, or anything - they are all my equal favourites.
