THANKS ALL! Especially those who stuck around after the stream went wonky. Not sure what happened there, but I'll toss several minions onto the pyre as a warning to the rest.
Yes! On the end matter issue. Drivrsme crazy, because I really do use the percentage to help me know where I am, like I used to use pages back when I read print.
If you try to run your mailing list just from Gmail, you will face two problems: first, it's very likely your emails will end up in spam; second, it's quite likely that Gmail will throttle your account as it will assume you are a spammer. You need a dedicated email marketing service to run your mailing list, and what I recommend for most authors is Mailerlite (link above). It's free until you hit 1000 subscribers.
@@DavidGaughran Hi David. Thanks for this video. I signed up with Mailerlite but the automation service is free for the first two weeks. Since I'm just starting and I'm my only subscriber, do you think I can manage the first automations doing myself the robot stuff? Would it be worth to start to pay the service when I see people start to subscribing? Thanks
@@gabrielemarchingiglio3940 Mailerlite's free plan isn't that restrictive at all. You can see which features are free vs. premium here: www.mailerlite.com/pricing As you can see, automations are available on the free plan. What Mailerlite does is give you a free two-week trial of the premium features on top of that, but automation is a free feature, so don't worry!

Thank you David. Just caught the replay. Loaded with golden nuggets. Much appreciation for your time and dedication.
Thanks for all your great author resources, videos, and books, David! I'm a big, big fan. One of your many!
Thanks , David, for another great vidcast!
So glad I found you, David! Selling books can be overwhelming even for someone with a marketing background.
I've just caught up on the replay. Thanks for the thought-provoking material. Great for a new author like me.
Appreciate your info and recommends. Great stuff!
Great video but how do you sell books so people will sign up organically?
You mentioned that we should never try to use it if we are Gmail accounts,
What should we do accordingly?
