This is the Sadam I usually go to as its just behind my housing area. You're right about the feel, the nasi kandar feel is different in KL and Penang. Not to say its not nice. It's like trying to compare eating okonomiyaki in Hiroshima and Osaka. They've got their own distinctive culture. There's a few around this area that's nice like Rawther and one in Hartamas side. Of course the main ones in KL are Yaseem, Kudu, Sithique.
I think the drink you had is Bru Coffee. Its a prepackaged coffee pack. Very good and usually suggested by Nasi Kandar bosses if they want you to have something nice. Means he likes you!

regarding double park, actually we hate it..we try to avoid double park..but sometimes we cannot avoid. malaysia is very car centric countries..so many cars on road yet the infrastructure and parking is not many. if we do, we try not to push down the brake..so people can move forward and backward the car, and some people they left with notes (phone number), if they dont do all this, either they forgot and they totally inconsiderate.
malaysian they try to avoid argument in public. but in the heart felt of course we may get angry if people being incosiderate like this, and some actually swear and curse in the car...not to the person.

Wow. This is way out there in Segambut. There is a MRT station nearby (Jalan Ipoh station) - the Sentul station is on the KTM Komuter line and is quite a bit further than the Jalan Ipoh station (the new Putrajaya MRT line - apparently it just opened in March 2023). I've never been to this part of KL - looks industrial. Tons of nasi kandar restaurants all over KL and PJ though, including one 100 meters from where I live.

In my opinion, Nasi Kandar by the Indian Hindus do not have beef dishes, because cow is one their god in Hindu. Nasi Kandar by the Mamak (Indian Muslim) do have beef dishes. 😁😁

Hi, I'm from Kedah, so about the weather and temperature feeling you have, it was definitely true, the north of Malaysia such as Perak,Penang,Kedah and Perlis definitely more hot than the others state, especially during the heat waves on the last three months but now it already near monsoon and raining season so it become more colder than normal, so on the conclusion is you feel the the temperature at Penang at the time Malaysia become the hottest at one of the hottest state😂 and you feel the cool of temperature during the time Malaysia become the coolest

It is always best to have hot drinks after having some greasy meal jst to be health conscious. U should try hot teh or kopi halia or spice tea whenever u stop by mamak stall... Very true when u said to look at places and how local live. Thts one thing we should not miss when travelling to foreign countries, really a treasured experience.

Sometimes we got no choice but have to block the way of another car, therefore, it's better you leave a contact no in your car where it's visible. The car owner can call you, so you can move your car away.

For that daging hitam, I think the boss got it wrong. The omelette probably fell into the kuah hitam hahahaha they should have daging hitam and should have serve you that. They should compensate you the next time you come there 😂

There's rumors about Nasi Kandar Kudu have the closest taste to Penang nasi kandar. As for double parking, at least the owner should leave phone number to avoid problem.

I don't eat much Nasi Kandar to know any difference but i remember watching Shahnaz Ahmad (Malaysian celeb from Penang) saying KL's nasi kandar didn't lose to Penang's by any stretch.

If you go to penang,go to Teluk Kumbar,Nasi Melayu local rice,more then 60 years,i was born they,the store name Nasi TA-AT,opposite of Hotel Lexis Suites Penang.when i back to home town,i eat it every day till i back to KL.

This plate is so expensive too.. 😂 and for your info.. double parking is our culture here in Malaysia.. 😂😂 many people are very lazy to walk far away from their cars.. but you are right.. sometimes.. it is very challenging to get a parking space especially in KL/Selangor area.. end up many people like to double parking.

hi jimmy...sadam nasi kandar stall that u have take your lunch before is very near from my working place at segambut industrial area,next time if I see u there I will join u and pay your nasi kandar...next time if u want to go u need go by rapid bus 250 or 190...no need to walking so far...
if u got double park blocking your car. just try to horn for few sec. see got people come or not. or else just ask the shop, see the car owner is inside the shop or not
for double park, besides beeping/honking, try check the car's dashboard. Usually regular double parkers leave their phone numbers on the dashboard, call them and they will come move the car.

moshi...moshi nehh....i'm from penang,n even i get nervous before ordering my food...coz the abg always very fast2,no time to think...Kl nasi kandar,if its popular-its almost as good as Penang nasi kandar,BUT,in Penang-almost ALL nasi kandar is good!some became famous due to consistency of quality n taste....My fav in Penang is always Deen,Hameediyah,Kapitan,Kassim Mustafa(these r legends)...line clear i would avoid due to previous hygiene issues...even tho a nasi kandar fan,u hv to realize the fact tat,mamk shops/nasi kandar = lack of hygiene!!don think of it!just enjoy the moment!Penang 2 decades ago frequently got hit by cholera,esp water supply n food!!try Bangkok Lane mee goreng in USJ1 too...they hv nasi dalcha!as good as penang!

Its BRU coffee. This Nasi Kandar is in Segambut. I have bought here many times. There is a nice kopitiam and chinese mix rice nearby.
For a moment, I was surprised it only cost about RM26-27 for chicken, squid, beef, salted egg. It's only after it's revealed that the beef was in fact actually a kicap fried egg, then it becomes standard KL price.
Also, the additional drink was either a Bru coffee or Cham (mix of milk tea & coffee, coffee being usually Nescafe).
