- Do you need to Replace the front strut on the Subaru Legacy 2010 to 2016 but don't know where to start? This video tutorial shows you step-by-step how to do it!
Our Subaru Legacy (2010 - 2016) manual covers petrol and diesel engines, and includes videos for some of the most common jobs, which you can see here in this playlist. Get the full manual haynes.com/en-us/subaru/legac...
What's covered:
Subaru Legacy 2010 - 2016
Subaru Forester 2009 - 2016
Exclusions:
Does not include information specific to six-cylinder and diesel engine models
Just wanted to say thank you to Haynes for posting these videos on YT.
perfect, really easy , the rear is much harder because you need to compress the springs
I second the comment about this not being accurate for this generation Legacy. The paper manual is wrong as well. The sway bar links are a nightmare to remove, definitely buy yourself a new set if you're going to do the job. The Moog links are a huge improvement.
👏👏👏 Thank you
Nice
That's a clean car!! Mines all rusty underneath 😬
This not accurate for a 2016. Just replaced mine. The sway bar end attaches to the strut which is not part of this job. I would buy new ones before you start. Getting these off is a bitch. I replaced with Moogs from Advanced auto for like $35 each. They are a much more serviceable design. They eliminated the stupid allen head design on the link and replaced with a nut to hold on back side. They also added zerks. Much better design and if I ever do this again I can get them off. FYI I got lucky to find links in stock had to drive 30 minutes though. Not a stocked part normally, buy before you start IMO if yours attach to struts.
I have a 2015 Legacy purchased in Canada, and the sway bar link is attache to the top of the strut ???
So, since there is a camber bolt you can mark and return to the same position, is an alignment not needed after this job?
2015-2017 are a separate generation. Not accurate.
🤣 it’s never that easy
