- The RUMPUS band is a kids family rock band playing live classic rock music and original songs! Suzie Q is a groovy, simple but complex, fantastic foot tapping song that we love to get lost in. It was originally written by Dale Hawkins in 1957 and CCR made it famous in 1968. The songs sits in a weird place with the bass just grooving in and out of the guitar riff. Hannah is trying out her new Trace Elliot 300w combo. Can you hear a different bass sound? We can... Enjoy... with lashings of volume :)
We are brothers and sisters from Auckland in New Zealand. We like to learn and perform new songs together and play modern music and classic rock songs. We also write our own original songs too. We like to play live if we can - but also enjoying sharing our music online.
We practice up in our rumpus room so we called our band ‘RUMPUS’ which we think is quite fitting!
We like to learn the new songs and polish them up as much as we can before we decide they’re ready to video and share. It’s gives us something to aim for and it’s also good to have for the future.
Ashley on drums and Hannah on the bass are twins and 12 years old. Matthew on guitar is 13 and Daniel on guitar and lead vocals is 15. Thanks for watching!

@@rumpusmachinenz If you're taking suggestions for coming new songs to do I'd propose "Money" from Pink Floyd - would be a cool bass line for Hannah especially and too a cool guitar solo for Daniel or Matthew :-)
You guys sure did good justice with this song. Each guitar was excellent. The tempo was kept relaxed enough to keep the groove feel going. Drums again amazing. I did hear a different sound with the bass, but didn't know until I read the comment it was a new instrument. I suppose that could be it, but I think her playing had more to do with what I liked in her groove. And the vocals. Vocals were so there with this. Enjoyed, thanks for the flashback. Keep playing and keep improving.

@@GOOD-LISTENER hi there, thanks yes we try to reply if people comment and mainly it’s Dan and me the dad Kevin.. in regards to song choice we’ve been listening to this kind of music with the kids since they were born and it’s normal for them.. we also listen to some pop for a laugh but not too much. We spend Xmas holidays on our boat and listen to a lot of music sailing here and there around the coast at snails pace.. we have a book and running list of potential songs that we might hear or have suggested. Then when we choose new songs we might choose four at a time and sit round discussing best suitable ones and then vote. Try to split the lead guitar duties and get a bit of challenge for everyone.. lately Dan has been listening to a bit of Metallica and there’s a couple of those being worked on at the mo.. can’t get too heavy but I spose it’s classic rock eh!?
