Haven't used it a long time - but I do remember in the media page that when you open the video in the source monitor that the linked audio would open with a chain link icon under it, where you could switch back to the external audio - and if the sync was off you could find a sync point and then turn on the new audio and drag it to the sync point to fix audio that was a bit off.
This used to happen to me when the direct audio was from a signal off the board and the cameras being somewhere in the audience captured everything, but had a couple of millisecond late in the capture.
I think that if it still works that way, that your viewers might want to know, because knowing how to fix things when there is a slight problem can save a lot of time and effort.

GREAT TIP: I always tick the Retain original audio in order not to loose it. Then at the timeline I delete the scratch audio. Just waste of time and effort. Just NOT tick the Retain original and I am ready. THANKS for clearing up the confusion.:-)

"Append" never made any sense. Append to lose it or append to keep it? "Retain embedded audio" is so much more clear. Great thumb on this one :)

Appending is a very common array and linear algebra operation, it's always been very clear to me what the intent was. This is the reason why you want UX non technical people to help you when designing interfaces😊

Is there a way to pan A CLIP in the 3d space , not just left to right in the inspector. Otherwise you always have to automate which is a slow way. if there's a way to have a clip panning right on the clip to positioning it that would be amazing.

im new to davinci here, i film using multiple cameras for long ceremonies, so i have multiple clips from each camera, is there a way to automatically sync all of them at once in davinci? i am using pluraleyes for that task at the moment
Thanks for your perfekt work. Do you have a solution to copy linked audio files to another project without losing the link? Or is there a way to burn in the linked audio to make it independent of the link?
Thanks man! I'd probably just render out the file w/ the linked audio, then you can bring it into a new project. Otherwise, I think you have to link again.....or maybe you can just put that clip w/ the linked audio in a timeline, then export the timeline as a DRT, then go to the new project and import the DRT timeline file. Might work.....😜

Thank you, Jason. But please I have a little problem. After syncing up without using the embedded audio and do all my editing, I then exported my project as an aaf export to do sound designing and scoring in nuendo but the aaf export doesn't load with the audio files. i tried loading same aaf file in protools still no files with it. just empty dialogue tracks. other audio clips like backgrounds, few folys and music they have no problem except the clips i'd synced. pls any ideas to help. thank you

I didn’t change the thumbnail on this video, but I have changed it on other videos. Trying to get some help from some of my friends, trying to do a better job at making thumbnails. 😜😁

For a guy who supposed to know so much about audio once you started adding that ridiculous rock guitar music you started burying your voice and it was more difficult to hear what you had to say. Do you think we really need rock music behind a tutorial?
