Until now Dead Boys Poem was my favorite Nightwish song. I may have to change that now. Every time I hear this masterpiece, I think of my Father who passed away in 1998. Great job Tuomas and great job Floor. 🥲🥲
The last song of the album to wrap up the trilogy of the latest 3 albums . Wonderful and beautiful !!! Floor ..... and Tuomas , with Troy and some strings . Lovely. Greetings from nw A se
Floor stated very recently that she felt more comfortable in her low range after the birth of daughter Lucy. She recorded all vocal parts in her home sudio in Sweden just 6 weeks after giving birth. BTW all songs from this album are amazing and worth a reaction....
Lanternlight is breathtakingly gorgeous ❣️ Not able to listen to this with dry eyes, it goes straight to your soul. It’s so fragile and strong at the same time. What a gorgeous piece of music composed by Tuomas and so emotionally sung by Floor. Tuomas said that Lanternlight is a song of love to celebrate live of the people that passed. In this case mainly his dad I guess.
When it comes to movie theme songs, Lanternlight reminds me of "Now We Are Free" from Gladiator during the scene where Maximus dies and meets his family in the afterlife. I know the Gladiator soundtrack by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard is one of Tuomas Holopainen's favourite albums of all time and a major source of inspiration for Nightwish.
Funny that you say "witch", Vocal coach Ken Lavigne commenting on the greatest show on earth: “Is she a sorceress, is she a Siren, is she a warrior princess, is she all three”
Gone is the hurt, the wait, gone is the warmth of day. A stray boat saved, happy memories engraved, on into a velvety night, beneath a lanternlight. Last night brought the heaviest of snows melting the songs of old, tying the boat, write a new one soon, sending me to the drowning moon, far above a lanternlight. I'm in the light and flood, I'm in the four winds, I am the waves shaping pebbles flawless gems, I am the snow on your palm. I am the secret stream, moss beneath your feet, I am you who climbed off of my back not long ago, a sheltered song in a world now gone, petrichor, the timeless. Turn loose the swaying boat, meltwater, sound of spring. I hear our song now, sung by the free, for a thousand more tomorrows of an incomplete weave. To the meadows I go, I’ll be waiting for you once upon a lanternlight. I walk now toward the trees, I am the secret stream, the night falling at my feet into the forest of Yesterwynde.
This is the most beautiful, soul gripping, heart stringing, moving, masterful celebration for and remembrance of Tuomas’, anyone’s, father ❤️🔥 Tuomas is an absolute musical, lyrical, genius! My father, the every cornerstone of my being, passed on peacefully in -22 on the waining hour of my Birthday. He had endured physically and emotionally for over 20 year. His passing was a true blessing; so much so that I had yet to shed one tear; until I heard this song by Nightwish; “Lanternlight” Tuomas’ yet another compositional and lyrical masterpiece and its manifestation by Floor and Troy finally opened my floodgates 💦💦😭 No amount of Finnish 🇫🇮 DNA, inner strength enhancing, emotion blocking, words (sisu, saatana, perkele) could hold back the desperately needed outpouring of emotions, reflections, remembrance, appreciation, flashbacks, re-lived joy and eternal love. Genuine happy tears do have healing powers! Tuomas, Floor, Nightwish, “Lanternlight” - Love❤️🔥and thank you to The G.O.A.T. IMHO, there has never been, there will never be, another Nightwish
Lanternlight is the passing away, underneath it are the living, above it the lights are the deceased. Thuomas wrote this beautiful masterpiece after the passing of his father. Tuomas plays the piano, he is an awesome piano and keyboard player. The violins and cello’s are from the best musicians of Londen. They always arrange and play the classical music for Nightwish. Thoumas is heavily involved with the orchestra and director.
Oh...@Highly reactive Reactions....Tuomas Holopainen plays the piano in this song! This song is one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in my 67 years! Howdy from Texas!
If I would have to choose a movie for this song, I'd pick "Meet Joe Black' with Brad Pitt and Sir Anthony Hopkins. For me, the movie and this song portray the same sentiments. Life and death entwined in a harmonious way.
I was surprised that Stan recognized the Pope at the end. I guess the gentleman looks like a Pope. He is Pope Leo XIII, the first Pope recorded in a motion picture film. I think it was January 1896.
"Who is playing the piano, I wonder..?"
The same guy who has been playing the keyboards for the last 30 years in Nightwish: Tuomas Holopainen.
Mr Tuomas Holopainen - Keyboardist, Composer, Poet, Founding Member of Nightwish. 🎹 🎼🎶
My 93-y old father died this morning. This beautiful song brings me comfort. 💔Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮
My condolences
🙏
This song is exatly a song about a life fully lived, and passed on to the forrest of Yesterwynde..
Condolences for the loss of your grandfather, & sincerely happy you had him a long time. ❤

Just pure art ❤
Made. Me. Cry.
Every time so far.
(About 100..)
I want my wonderful, talented sister to sing this song when I pass. I am 67 years young and pray that I have another 25 years!
Floor stated very recently that she felt more comfortable in her low range after the birth of daughter Lucy. She recorded all vocal parts in her home sudio in Sweden just 6 weeks after giving birth.

Floor's low range is devastating. So beautiful. And her face, good Lord, her beautiful face unadorned with anything save her heart and soul.
Absolutely beyond words! 😄🤘
I need tissues --- sad but comforting --- my funeral song
Agreed!! , I decided a couple of days ago I want this song being played at my own funeral.
The most gorgeous, flabbergasting, nourishing, tastefull, emotional, beautifull song of all times. Sorry, more than three words
This is a LOVE SONG (Tuomas said so!!!)!
The album is recorded 6weeks after Floor gave birth and it took just days. She, as always, knew how to color their songs❤
3 words? ........one and only!
Floor transcends time
The birds dream of singing like Floor!🤘🎸
Pure auditory bliss. ❤
I love your Nightwish Journey guy"s, thank you so much for this one

Epic petrichor ballad
No more stress
Tuomas Holopainen is the Wizard behind this. ❤❤❤

Haha, of course it's master Tuomas Holopainen in piano. He's the composer and also the keyboardist of the Nightwish. 👹🤘
Amazing ❤❤❤❤❤❤
12:14 "A heartwarming masterpiece"
This would be great in Ghost, movie
No keyboard A real orchestra recorded in Abbey Road Studio in London 😏
Just only one.

Floor's not a witch...she's a SIREN...but she's not trying to make you run your ship into the rocks😁

Less is more, in 3 words
The album starts and ends with the sound of the projector 😊
