Generation War Trailer: • Generation War Officia...
Game: Ori and the Blind Forrest
A few people in the comment section gave a way better picture of the "polish deathcamp" controversy than me. Please take the time to check out what they had to say.
ηΦτ ηίςέ シ you're projecting a bit much. By all means, type rants with no effect at all. It's fun to see you flail around.
Three Arrows I would very much like if after you say "I don't know about a topic" to follow your own advice and not pretend you know about a topic such as gun control in usa. "They got too many gunzzz". This is why western Europeans looks like drooling morons who have no hands on experience with anything. You got Switzerland, Czech republic and Serbia in europe which have huge gun ownership rates yet they do not have the gun crime rates that USA has.
The general consensus among normal to far right people is gang crime. The only subsect of the population who believes is the guns are the far left ideologues who also believe you have no rights you dirty white male *spits on you since you can't fight back* .
You aren't dumb so don't go into talking about arguments with no prior knowledge about them. And you call Sargon of akkad uninformed
'Right now, I don't really see much blatant misinformation coming from a major left-wing RUclipsrs' - Three Arrows.
You either don't watch much left wing RUclipsrs, you're woefully ignorant, wilfully ignorant, or blinded by bias. If there's another reason, I'd like to know.
Can you do a video dedicated to Molyneux’s denial of the Native American genocide?
@@2snowornot2know81 I like the inherent bias in saying "normal to far right people". Yeah, cause that isn't a skewed perspective to get a "consensus" from?
He clearly stated that he didn't know much about the topic, but gave his theory since he was asked about it. He didn't make a video about it like Sargon does when he is uninformed, it was just a comment made in passing. I know this was posted 2 years ago, but this seems like a really poor hot take on a comment that specifically mentioned it wasn't well informed.
It is quite the leap to equivocate an intentionally downplayed comment with the arrogance and overconfidence of youtubers like Sargon.
You mention gang crime as the perpetrators of gun violence, but that completely ignores that facet of gun crime most people are worried about, which is mass shootings. That is definitely an important facet of gun violence and it isn't perpetrated by gangs, but mostly white conservatives.
Another issue is police brutality that has come into extreme focus during this pandemic.
Even if we assume gang crime is the "cause" of gun violence, it is important to note that the readily available nature of guns in the US makes it easier for said gangs to get a hold of guns to be violent with. In too many states, guns can be purchased without any background checks. While the gun show loophole might be misnamed, it still is a loophole in the system that can be very easily abused to get your hands on a bunch of weapons you wouldn't usually be able to get.
Allowing private sellers to sell without going through the system, without checking the background of the buyer, means that any criminal can buy guns easily by just buying it through other people.
While closing the loophole wouldn't stop criminals from getting guns through smuggling or other illegal acts, it would still make it harder for criminals to get guns, since not all criminals have the connections needed for that, and it also allows the issue of criminals getting guns to be more efficiently targeted. There is no point in stopping gun smuggling if guns can just be purchased by anyone from random individuals, but if you do stop criminals from getting guns that way, stopping smuggling could actually have an effect on criminals getting guns.
Private sellers is a huge problem for gun crime, and gun control can stop that. Of course nobody is claiming that is gonna stop the entire problem, but we can't just ignore one facet of the problem just because there are other issues that ALSO need to be fixed. We'll never fix any problem if we allow other unrelated problems to be used as arguments against the solution.
When will you and Shaun do an ASMR collaboration?
omg

I'm not a Leftist (Not a rightist either) and I like the channel too.
the three arrows down are a symbol for the iron front, antifascist, antimonarchist and anti communist. its a historical consolidation of social democratic(SPD), republican(students fighting for the german tricolore and democracy), workers movement(unions) forces in the pre fascist Weimar republic that stood opposed to the nsdap centrum and kpd.
besides that, solidarity isn't shown with mindless preaching, that said, please sub, he seems to have his shit together.

First-day subscriber and Patreon. I am glad to see, that there are some kind of alternative voice on RUclips who is challenging far right, using similar fashion how they are attacking their opponents. Let that community feel their own medicine and diversify existing vocal space. Keep up the good work.
I'm so happy to see your channel growing so fast. As an American, I'm quite depressed to see the growth of neo-nazism, racism, overtly fascist politicians running for office in my state of Illinois (the scene "I hate Illinois nazis" in Blues Brothers is now fucking reality apparently), and so on and so forth here in the United States. So to see so many people like you popping up on the internet, and actually gain a following and a ton of supporters gives me hope that we can change this narrative that is consuming so many industrious and Western democracies. Keep up the good work!
Man, Ori and the Blind Forrest is such a good game.
hey Three Arrows, you misunderstood and therefore misrepresented the controversy of the Polish law. Israel and different Jewish communities appose that law because it also states you can not blame the "Polish people/nation" for crimes committed in Poland during the Nazi occupation. a lot of Jews (ranging from a few hundreds to tens of thousands) were not only sold out but also killed directly by the local polish population, some for money and property and some just out of racism. killing of Jews by local poles ranges from pogroms during and after the war committed by whole villages to killings of hiding Jews or Jews that fled ghettos or camps by individual poles. many people fear this law is meant to hide these crimes and stop further discussion or research in the matter. NO one in his right mind laims that concentration/death camps were polish.
also why are Germans worried about migrant/refugee anti antisemitism? there are basically no Jews in Germany these days.
David Archer Thanks for summing it up so good dude.
There are still 120.000 jews in Germany.
out of a population of 82 million. that`s less than 0.5%
The truth is that this law was designed to stir up anti-German sentiments in Poland. Current goverment is heavily criticised by EU and many German officials so as a counter the ruling party PiS passed this law, raised up the question of war reparations etc. They used German tv channel ZDF's terrible gaffe as a reason. They didn't expect Israels reaction at all. Meanwhile Israeli PM is engulfed in corruption scandal so he welcomed this distraction. Claims on all sides are exaggerated. Germans don't try to rewrite history and blame Poles for nazi death camps. The Polish law is not penalizing people who talk about pogroms or many other crimes or acts of anisemitism. It only intends to prevent assigning blame for actual German atrocities (ie death camps) to Polish nation. There is also a huge concern in Poland about not giving a fair picture of occupied country - it was a catastrophy and humanitarian disaster. There were people who in this catastrophy behaved despicably, others risk their life to safe the Jews, and here PiS has a point. And now the law is basically dead anyway.
David Archer 0,146%, to be precise. Still you can't simply throw them under the bus.
This was such a great Q&A!
Have you ever considered NOT reading any books and instead just post headlines supporting your narrative?

Three Arrows. Thanks for this great video! I was really happy you actually talked about the "#German Death Camp" thing. Ahh, I love when you explained the little thing about saying "have a good one" in German. I've been learning German (or... attempting to) for a while and little things like that are so fascinating to me! :)
You lived in Brazil?? Hiii you got a brazilian viewer here!
awesome channel. its one of the better ones. do you have an instagram?
I would love to see you do an in-depth look at Holocaust denial, and go through the most common alt-right arguments and how to refute them.
I am an American and a Social Libertarian/Liberal (economic centrist, socially libertarian), and as such I am very much pro-gun rights. However, I also realize that some regulation (mainly background checks, training licenses, and mandatory gun safes) are necessary. Ultimately, I subscribe the to Swiss take on the issue, with some minor differences. My question is, what do you think about Swiss gun laws? Do you think it's a good model universally? Or is it an anomaly and probably wouldn't work as well in other areas?
If you look at the stats, Switzerland may be a lot safer than the US, but they are still up there in the top nations in terms of gun possession and therefore gun violence. Although you are correct in using them as an example, because the culture around guns seems to be similar, i.e. the insane love for machines that only have the purpose of killing.
It really doesn't take anything out of common sense - you need a license to drive a car, you should need a license to own a gun. If you have any violent inclinations, you shouldn't be allowed a gun. That's just easy, and that part works in pretty much every country.
The aforementioned culture is a different aspect. If people don't want to own guns, the problem doesn't even come up. But that part won't change, neither in Switzerland nor in the US.
A kill with a gun is the same as a kill with a knife, true (ie, the end result is a death). However, it's a lot easier to kill with a gun than with a knife to begin with, so it's a bit of a false equivalence.
+Eli A - what does "socially libertarian" mean, and how does it differ from "socially liberal"?
True, truck terrorism has been on the rise, but it's difficult to conceal a truck under your jacket, or to bring a truck into a school, or to hide a fleet of trucks in a cupboard, so the arena of trucks as a means of murder still remains rather limited. And even then, we actually do recognize trucks as a potentially dangerous tool, hence why most countries require people to take a truck driver's certification, and to register their truck ownership with the government. It's not perfect, but at least it weeds out some clearly incompetent people, and can make it easier to track down potential helpers in the case of a deliberate attack.
I'm not disagreeing with background, mental health and proficiency checks. My problem is with gun bans. They are mostly ineffective and add unnecessary restrictions. Germany's gun laws are somewhat reasonable and I'm fine with them. Britain's complete gun ban is not something I'm a fan of, but its not my country. If we drew from the Swiss gun system by giving licenses for non-sporting-purpose firearms to reservists (2nd amendment refers to militias, and reservists are essentially more official militias) that'd be a good compromise.
we got targeted ads here in israel not long ago from the polish government that insist that poland wasnt at fault for what happened in in it during WWII.
when i saw it i heard nothing else of the situation and i thought "oh they're probably trying to clear their name now that nationalism is on the rise, seems sensible"... seems like i've missed whole layers of context
Wow, your channel is growing so fast. When's your 20k Q&A?
Anarchism is a form of libertarian socialism. In a nutshell libertarian socialism is a school of socialism that rejects the state as a means of achieving communism. Other forms of libertarian socialism includes council communism and some forms of libertarian Marxism. This is opposed to forms of authoritarian socialism (such as Marxist-Leninism) that see the state as necessary to transfer to socialism.
I hope this helped, I love your content and keep up the great work!
Lets Have A Discussion "anarchism as actually practised". For example....?
Lets Have A Discussion No rulers not "no authority". If youve read a page of bakunin hes covered that in detail...150 years ago.
Regarding anarchism: Dictionary definition =/= Political definition.
(I'm not an anarchist myself, just pointing out that terms mean different things in different contexts)
AnCom_Tom I've personally never heard of a socialist libertarian. The libs are conservatives. Subscribing to the words of Ronald Reagan. They want less government but still want a centralized system with a hierarchy so I don't know how much anyone could associate that with Anarchism.
+Ed Speanburgh

Ah sorry, my English is not that good.
Excellent, thank you for this. As with one of your commenters, I consider myself centrist although more recently this has started to mean soft-left. However, I do have concerns with the number of people immigrating to my country, the U.K., with Islamic beliefs. No, not terrorism, very few are directly affected and the greatest danger is our response to it. Rather my concerns are with the issues of severe social conservatism and a disrespect for governance we have seen here. Things like the child sex-trafficking and several issues of political influence, including identitarian corruption at the local level that has started people talking for the first time about a requirement for ID when voting, amongst other more substantial changes. Although we do have plenty of Anglo-Saxon corruption it doesn’t tend to be based on religion or the country/region of origin of the corrupt or their parents, it is more about the lining of pockets. I don’t want to stop or even slow down immigration, particularly European or Indian immigration (Hindu anyway) as I believe it benefits the country and our economy will falter if it is ever tried. No, my concerns are about too many people from too conservative a culture with bad ideas I had naively thought had been or were being dealt with (particularly regarding women, homosexuals and Jews). The recent flaring up of anti-semitism in the Labour Party here has a direct line to lefty criticism (justified) of Israel mixing with Islamic ideas and the old bigotry. This appalls me as I had hoped the Labour Party, which I vote for when not voting Green, would be a way to stop or minimise the Brexit bullshit but they are too busy playing the old trots vs Leninists vs stalinists vs social democrat game and fighting amongst themselves about whether criticism of Israel is anti-Semitic (it’s not) or whether criticism of the Zionist project is (it is, usually). However, since the surge in the right and particularly the nasty, anti-democratic right I am reluctant to raise any of my concerns due to my fear it empowers the authoritarian arseholes because of the complexity of the issue and their appealing to a large swathe of people with simple, tried and failed solutions from the far right. I also think the danger comes from them now. Still, Muslim immigration has been a great thing for this country but I have concerns about too much in too short a period of time. By the way, I agree with Frau Merkel’s refugee decision as an emergency measure but I do feel it was handled badly, for whatever reason including the number of people who took advantage of German compassion and generosity. And now it seems it will hurt other, future refugees when the next crisis turns up. Even if the immigrants themselves wish very much to integrate and most of them do, the current climate creates an ‘us and them’ dynamic which will drive increasing numbers of their children (it’s hardly ever the actual immigrants) to an extremist viewpoint. The great tragedy of Brexit is that it will mean increased immigration from the commonwealth (Pakistan, Nigeria and Bangladesh for example) to make up for the fewer Europeans coming here, which will only compound the problem. Business will get its workers from somewhere. I suppose what I’m trying to say is that I’m not quite as sanguine about the type of immigration we have as you are. This is very difficult and I particularly want to stress that I do not hold negative views about anybody based on their religious belief, beyond a certain suspicion as to the rational behaviour of anyone who believes in supernatural beings and events, but I am concerned about too many people in too short a period of time with beliefs that are too socially conservative. This aside, I agree almost completely with what I have discerned of your viewpoint, and I consider this one disagreement secondary, if related, to the rise of the authoritarians and nativists.
About you pointing out that there is severe academic discourse over the 1932/33 famine: Fair enough. I didn't dislike your debunking video because the rest of it was so good, but it did bother me greatly that you drew an equivalence between a fiercely debated academic question and literal holocaust deniers, which is, itself, another deflection tactic used by neo-nazis. "Well, if you think my questioning the holocaust is so absurd, why don't you spend your time attacking the commies for murdering fifty bajillion more than hitler instead?" Seeing you so casually concede to it was immensely upsetting. I don't ask you to change your opinion on the famine, just *please* do not give nazis the legitimacy they seek by placing their denial on the same level as a legitimate academic debate.
for an introduction to anarchism, I would recommend George Woodcock's Socialism from Below and Rudolf Rocker's Anarcho-syndicalism. Both books offer historical insights into the anarchist movement and some well phrased explanations of anarchist political thought. also, since you're German, you can read rocker in the original German.
Emma Goldman's essays are valuable in that they offer a broad ( if slightly aged ) look at the many areas of life to which anarchism as a mode of thought and action can be applied. Her book Anarchism and Other Essays is very interesting in that regard.

Libertarian socialism are socialism models that are generally focused on having a community organisation or another bottom-up-model (think syndicalism, anarchism, council communism etc.) Prominent figures are people like George Orwell, Rosa Luxemburg, all anarchists, the IWW, Noam Chomsky, (you also could say that Zizek, Dubcek and Albert Einstein were libertarian socialists too)
Any chance you might make a video surrounding the myths of "Eisenhower's death camps"? I've seen plenty of people trying to use this myth to draw an equivalence between the western allies and the Nazi regime.

Very late yes, but I can offer this. Libertarian Socialist is how Noam Chomsky used to answer the question of most accurate possible political description of his world view. I doubt that's the case today, considering Libertarian, as a word, has changed meanings at least twice since I heard him say that. I find that useful information to the seeker, generally, if the interest is in understanding language and social dynamics.

I thought Germany didn´t have a constitution (verfassung) and was still use the basic law. Have it changed and if so what are the mayor differences between the constitution and the basic law?
The "basic law" (I think you mean the "Grundgesetz"?) IS in fact our constitution. Until 1990, it was the constitution for West Germany (BRD), while East Germany (DDR) had its own constitution, and the BRD postulated its as a partial constitution until the reunification with the East. With the reunification in 1990, it became the official constitution of all of Germany and was recognized as such by the allies.
Also, all federal states have their own accordant state constitutions.

Libertarian socialism is a catch all term anarcho communism/anarcho syndicalism
Libertarian socialism is pretty much another term for anarchist, a good read I would recommend is daniel guerin's introduction to anarchism
Mac Mcskullface
it is opposed to capitalism because it is a form of socialism, to make this simple, socialism is not the idea that government should control everything, it is actually democratic ownership of the work place, those who work in the office or factory should democraticaly run it, rather than one figure, the boss, anarchism is the idea that all working folk should be free from nonlegitimate and oppressive forms of hiarchy, both social, instutinal which would include racism, sexism transphobia and economic oppression, capitalism being a form of it
Properitarian would be a better name for ancaps, and yes more libertory forms of marxism would be considered libertarian socialist, much like council communism
sodacabbage
Of course they won't, they are convinced that capitalism is voluntary, nothin about it is
Not sure if you’ll see this since it’s old but here’s something you might find interesting from someone who is a gun rights supporters (I’m pretty centrist for most topics but this one I guess I’m not). Most firearms owners in the US actually strongly dislike the NRA. New groups get much more dedicated support, especially from people well versed in the subject. One of these groups is the FPC (firearms policy coalition) and they seem to be organised in a completely different way than the NRA is. I’m also not from the US but from the Netherlands where I am a very active member in the sports shooting community but also closely follow firearms related issues in the US

For libertarian socialism or as others call it, Anarcho-communism/syndicalism, I suggest reading Goerge Orwell's 'Homage to Catalonia' and Noam Chomsky's 'On Anarchism'. You can also watch some informative videos on its more modern application by the most famous contemporary anarcho-communist intellectual David Graeber. Lastly, the film 'Land and Freedom', even if for fun - its a great film set during the Spanish Civil war.

A testament to the German education system I guess, If I was consumed with one of your "hobby" interests I wouldn't have time for another not to mention the several the several stated but then again I'm 55 so the world seems to spin faster now.
Libertarian socialist is typically a euphemistic way of saying "anarchist" and has been used frequently by anarchists in places where speaking about anarchism is banned, but it also gets used to describe anarchist adjacent politics, so people like Oscar Wilde who saw a place for the state in society, but thought it would have an extremely limited role therein, or people like Bookchin who was opposed to the state, but opposed anarchistic praxis in favor of more of a focus on local electoral politics, so it's more broad than anarchist, but, in most cases, when someone talks of libertarian socialists, they're talking specifically about anarchists.
I CLAPPED! I CLAPPED WHEN HE SAID REDLETTER MEDIA BECAUSE I KNOW THAT!

There is a great analysis of the gun problem in America by a hillbilly named Beau on RUclips. I don't remember his channel name but he has a beard and the title of the video is "Let's talk about gun control" or something and has like 5 parts about it. Basically he pointed out that guns are tools for death but have been co-opted as a symbol of masculinity which inexplicably leads to masculinity battles using war tools instead of arm wrestling or something. So America is the problem that results in high American gun crime.
Hey, what do you think about how the far-left are in many ways trying to distance communism from themselves in many of the same ways that the far-right is trying to distance nazism from themselves? Keep up the good work kamrat!
If you want to ask a question for the next Q&A, where do you ask it?
edit: my question was answered @1054
Will you make any anti-communist or anti-monarchy videos?
Your videos are a great counter point to the political videos that seem to dominate here on youtube. My experience with the left is clearly different than yours. Here in Canada, I really don't encounter many people who would be considered "Alt Right" or even mildly conservative by US standards but I'm surrounded by the social media outrage addicts and people who literal consider themselves "advocates for social justice". They really are a thing and say/believe a lot of nonsense.

23:30 Welp, from now on I'll be mentally substituting "Gudeeen" at the end of every video. :^)
I knew you'd say RLM.
Generation war, good series, I actually really liked the younger brother's journey, I find it really interesting he went from seen as a pacifist or an inept soldier to be a steely eyed fatalistic killing machine. I also feel that he "got" the war more than his older brother did, even though he was not the level as his older brother in terms of adopting to military culture he was always aware of the consequences, even before he died.
I liked all the character's stories except perhaps that of the actress girl played by Katharina Schüttler. I feel her story is a little too convenient in the sense that its all about her selling herself for one Jewish friend. Not saying that there weren't good selfless people like that, I'm sure there were a good number of such silent minority, but I just feel its less powerful and less related to the plot than the other 3 characters. I also feel that the media wants the audiences to zero in on her despite the...well, holocaust that's happening all around. Though I will admit that her rise in fame and fall does show the nasty abusive side of the Reich to its own (even well off) citizendry.
Personally I wouldn't mind a perspective from a disgruntled and disillusioned WW1 soldier or an utterly impoverished child who grow up to be a full blown Nazi ideologue if anything to see from his perspective how someone like that gets to become that way (an...Star Wars Empire's perspective from the other side so to say) how someone lonely and powerless comfortably becomes part of a marching army toward death. Though I might be projecting here.
Libertarian Socialism is a way to say
I am not part of the libertarian right (like the US Libertarian Party) and I don't want to use the word Anarchist because it scares people and would rather you try and deal with my ideas than focus on how I define myself.
It can also be used by Marxists who aren't quite aligned with the Leninist system in one form or another and would not want to be seen as authoritarian. So it's not a real idea in my experience so far.
