😂 I agree that part of the movie was frustrating. The apes just let him beat Noah like that, but when he started singing the eagle song, they wanted to join in. They could have easily jumped him, but instead, they chose to sing and let the birds handle it, even though they clearly outnumbered him.
It's psychological. They were literally all submissive to proximus earlier that day, they'd all been being held captive, they were still under that submissive spell etc.
My biggest problem was it felt like the scared ape friend clearly was the traitor and that was never resolved. Or was it truly explained how Proximus knew
ha! I enjoyed the falconry of Noa's tribe. But the writers could have left Mae & her story out of the script. The focus on Noa finding his clan could go deeper into his character development and why his tribe had no knowledge of Cesar.
Right? Also the dam looked like it was made by the apes, not the humans. So does that mean that prior to that being built the water just came all the way up to the door? Makes no sense.
I am a Planet of the Apes biggest fan...even though some of the things he stated maybe true I still loved loved the movie and am bow waiting anxiously for the next movie...
The only part i didnt like was the end where the, idk, 40 apes are standing around instead of attacking Proximus. All it would've taken was to show Proximus throw a few off the ledge or just smack the shit out of multiple at once and it wouldve been believable that they were too scared.
I disliked the whole character of Mae 1. She came across as a Gen z young adult but it’s set years on years after war for the apes…. So why?? 2. How tf can she speak so well, along with the base she was at and the scientist guy working with the apes, too They gave no explanation for that. Did the disease that makes you primitive have some who were immune to that version too?
It was established in the trilogy that some people were immune to the virus. Clearly they all went into the bunker immediately. If they can still run computers and satellite signals, talking isn't too difficult
Honestly I think you're wrong adam, I saw the hawk society as a tribe who used eagles to get them fish, remember this is only 300 years into the new ape world so they know nothing of fishing. And even though they know stealing the eggs is wrong, and they train and raise those eggs respectively, that's why they leave one egg for the mother to raise. I honestly thought they were taking the eggs to eat lol so it was great to use them in a different way.
The thing is, leaving one egg would likely lead to the eagles dying out in the wild. The reason birds have multiples is that most die before reaching maturity. Odds aren't great with just one egg.
The entire story line involving Mae, or whatever he name is, was purely frustrating. She's clearly and evil character with evil intentions, but I don't really understand her place in the film. Is she there to start a future war or what? Hated her and it was shameful she actually survived at the end. And yes, the clan should have just tossed Proximus off the cliff. That, however, was not their nature. They are passive and compassionate. Remember, they use the eagles to catch fish, as they don't do this themselves. Great discussion!
Why tf is she evil? Cause she wants to improve her people's situation? Because she lied to keep herself safe (after her group and her mother were killed)? Because she was whiling to sacrifice apes to ensure they don't use human technology against her people? Tell me you wouldn't do the same?
Eagles are important to serve a way to communicate, to hunt and to spy for nearby environment for the whole clan of Noa. They can be compared to nowadays drone for military use to assassinate certain targeted person (kill other chimpanzee) or hunt other species (fish for food). Proximus Caesar's clan probably hunt human for food, there are no scenes showing humans used as hard labourer or slaves.
That’s all accurate but this tribe took things to a different level. Their entire ideology was wrapped in the Eagle lore. It would have been cool if that was just one aspect of their tribe
There's a lot of references to space, and in one of the previous movies they show on the news that a space shuttle was lost in space. Makes me wonder if they're actually planning to remake the original Planet of the Apes soon.
It’s weird how it was portrayed in the media that this was the best of the last 4 movies… It was easily the worst one and outside of the ape stuff, the human part now really annoyed me a lot! I rather have them come from space than how it’s portrayed in this movie, because it doesn’t make sense at all especially with the time that has been passed…
I grew up loving the original Planet of the Apes films & television series. What's lacking in this new series is fun. I don't want to see crying CGI ape children thrust into a social justice allegory, I want a fun, amazing adventure. The first one was okay and had promise, but it's been a dismal, drab, overly dramatic decline ever since.
Nah, at the end of this, he let her go and moved on, just that he will definitely not trust them anymore. He's probably happy enough that he got his clan back and especially the ones he's closest to. Which I'm happy about. I'm honestly really happy with the ending of this movie.
@@misterbobby8913Agreed. I just wish the movie ended with Noa and Mae's conversation. I feel like the rest of the ending could've worked better for a mid/post credit scene
Okay so you lost me at the first two minutes when you said you didn't even know the names of noa's friends cause literally how can you sit through a movie where they're constantly saying their names and not catch that? How can I trust anything else you say about the movie if you can't even catch the most in your face things? No way anyone can trust you to pick up on the more subtle things then. Go watch the movie again and then come back when you have an actual opinion
No big deal. Not your type of channel. I talk about movies here like I'm with my buddies. I'm terrible with names but I also don't find it matters in the slightest. I get your point though. Take care.
This movie makes no sense. After 300 years, how are they are not fully evolved yet? The astronauts in the original Planet of The Apes were gone for year.
@@HorrorCritical no way. ...it/he actually answered all my questions I had in regards to just how the Apes were now so much more advanced in their intellect, and not just that, but clearly and evidently modeling the roman empire etc.
I liked Noah, he wasn't as badass as Caesar but he was still easy to root for and you wanted him to prevail over Proximus.
😂 I agree that part of the movie was frustrating. The apes just let him beat Noah like that, but when he started singing the eagle song, they wanted to join in. They could have easily jumped him, but instead, they chose to sing and let the birds handle it, even though they clearly outnumbered him.

That's Hollywood.

As a long time planet of the apes fan, this movie was everything I wanted it to be in more. I just unapologetically adore this franchise
In my own personal opinion I feel like the planet of the apes franchise is the most consistent sci-fi franchise that's ever been made
same here
It was Fantastic Yeah
@@seanlaughlin522 THAT ENDING! For sure to get any planet of the apes fan excited. I couldn’t believe it

Exactly, the entire clan is just going to stand there and watch Proximus destroy Noa? Don’t worry though, eagles together strong
Echoes are echoes of the past. Little on the nose

I think they want Mae for the trilogy of contacting humans on a moonbase or marsbase where they're not affected by the virus.
@@dos3622Exactly, and that makes sense. It was a Great movie in my opinion yeah
I want to see what happens to mark Wahlberg in the end of Tim Burton apes. Like a real ape society
I would love a sequel to that, I quite enjoy the Burton remake despite its flaws.
People gotta complain about something no matter what's it's pertaining to
Or, you know - no movie is perfect and there are legitimate complaints?
I adored this movie, but there were a few things I would critique
Dude, quit picking on Noah 😁🤣🤣
He's only a teen and haven't been through what Caesar has been through.
Give the guy a chance to advance.
This guy already took a beating from the Godzilla fans now hes just begging for the Planet of the Apes fan to come for his head too
He said he liked the movie in his review, what video did you watch?
Hello hello, Owen Wilson from Zoolander. I love when I get your references lol
Great review. All hail Caesar! Loved the fade away shot to represent the villain falling off the cliff.

Calling Hawks "Egales" is crazy.
