Also did more work than most of the others AND the customers LOVED AND APPRECIATED ME but not Walmart!!! I LOVE PEOPLE!!! I however can not drive at night down a long road with NO street lights so that was the "REASON" I was let go. Because I can't see to drive at night. NOT MY CHOICE. I CAN NOT SEE!!!! They don't care if I hurt or killed someone due to this disability or I were to die because I drove when I can't!!! Btw my fall happened at work. the associates they worked with were managers. most of whom only work 4 days a week have plenty of vacation time and other managers to switch with when they have an emergency. Our managers blame lack of people on call offs, but it is a lack of hiring and constant harassment and increasingly heavy work loads and lack of security, not to mention the favoritism (we counted a "pets" call offs they exceeded termination twice over) false accusations, discrimination. you name it. the open door policy is worthless. I dont know how it is in other stores, but the "pets" who get points erased magically, or perfect attendance associates in our store do not do anything to contribute to the profits. By the way, i am long term lifer and among other lifers who are furious about how this policy change was implemented.

      YOU earn less PTO time and PPTO is a complete fucking joke, seriously for this year I WAS looking forward to earning almost 6hours of PTO per pay period but SADLY now Im earning 1.2hrs per payperiod because the other 1.45hrs go to PPTO but even if you total that OUT it does not come out to what I was supposed to earn, even one of the coordinators in personnel had the audacity to tell me I have to work TWICE as MORE hours just to even make ends meet but how is that even possible!? they have me working 40 fucking hours a week there is no more than that because we are not allowed to get OVER time seriously as a part time associate how am I even making 40 hours, how the fucking HELL do they get away with so many of these violations, OH and dont even bother going to complain to the WORK force agencies or even labor departments there a complete JOKE and you'll only end up making an ass of yourself at the most or worst make yourself look bad, these agencies are spineless and don't really do anything other than siphoning our HARD earned RAPED TAX dollars at giving cushy job to a couple of old fuckers with nothing better to do than ostracizing the common folk that DONT have a job when theirs is even WORTH the title of WORK.

    I can tell you as a former employee, that this is very true. In the span of three months, they hit me with 4 1/2 points against me, one of those points was for clocking out a minute late on a five hour shift. Then they tried to accuse me of starting an argument with a customer, needless to say I quit on that day. Walmart cares about profits and do not now or will ever care about associates, period...

    When I started with Walmart, almost 25 years ago, you got seven approved absences every six months. No point system. Any absences over that were unapproved, and you were terminated at four unapproved abscenses. They would take a doctor's note as approved after the seventh call off, because if you were willing to pay the doctor, you were actually sick. Attendance was much better back then, but so was morale. It was actually a decent place to work. I'm only there for the insurance now, certainly not because I love my job.

    Our management doesn't tell new hires that they get two UNINTERRUPTED breaks, just that they get two breaks. So they get people to do customer service during break, and they just go back and finish the time they had left. That's not how it works. If they interrupt your break for any reason, you start it over at minute one. So many employees don't know that.

    • @LittleMissDeath

      Or keep points but allow doctors notes to remove points that would of been 1000x more fair honestly if they accept doctors notes but kept points i can at least understand 100% them wanting ya to get punished to stay up night with your friends *and i am not talking about COVID WHERE THEY HAVE TO LET U STAY HOME IF SICK BECAUSE OF LAWS til vaccine is widely distributed to public* I can 100% guarantee you they won't accept doctors notes and stop doing temp checks when vaccine is widely available and u don't have to go out of your way anymore to get it. Which means you will once again be penalized for being sick again when covid is over if it ends.

    The new policy is a lie. Associates will be forced to work a full year before it even becomes useful without missing a day. Everyone has 0 ppto. During the worst time of year. Even perfect attendance IF they get a profit share at all, the dollar amount spent is tiny. The amount going into pockets of shareholders being taken away from associates is millions. All associates literally can't get sick, cant get flat tire, cant stay home when school close for snow, until they make enough PPTO at 1.3hour a week. Every year 0 if you don't let it add up. The publicity and making it sound like it's great and it wouldn't be bad if there was protected from day one or even permitting it from our regular earned PTO at a max of 48. But it isn't. It's seperator. May will lose jobs simply because it's complicated and WAlmart is not explaining everything like that part no-one has any available time. No-one can miss more than 4 days in rolling 6 months without losing job, schools have more snow days, factories have better policies and the actually have down time. WAlmart does not, no holidays, you aren't allowed to get sick but are exposed to violence often, virus , flu, cold, measles, ecoli, you name it. What Wal-Mart's doing is attempting to scam the public.

I've seen assoc go to lunch and come back bleeding from attempted suicide.. I've seen associates be successful in suicide. I've witnessed managers crying historically on the nasty floor of the restroom. I've have dark thoughts myself recently. This situation is absolutely NO JOKE! I have worked for Walmart 16 years and can't wait 3 years to retire when they raised the wage to 11 I got nothing because I made more than that. Then they went to 12 and I got nothing because I make 12.32 now they raised deli and bakery to 15 I got nothing because I don't work in those departments. They give raises to new hires who spend most of the day hiding or on their phones. I take 2 to 3 shopping carts of trash to the back by myself and the end of my shift while the new hires it takes 3 employees to take 1 cart to the back. Walmart wants to get rid of the old timers and hire young lazy kids who can't work weekends or evening or holidays and that's ok but us who been there for ever never get weekend and holidays off.

    I'm praying for you that you can find something decent what's better pay cuz there's nothing worse than working at a job that doesn't really appreciate their employees and it's kind of weird that they're not letting you have 40 hours I went through the same thing when I worked at Kroger's and I had to put up with a bunch of BS working all different hours being a single mother so I know how it feels to not get respected and treated good at a job and the worst thing about working there and she only got 15 minute lunch break and you practically had to break your neck to get back to work to clock in and that's just sad cuz there's not a whole lot you can do in 15 minutes

Like WTF i cant label somthing or know if its new mod or overstock with out the scanner telling me. Also they put me in a department and i didnt even have access to the keys. So every time a customer comes, can i check that out. yeah sure let me radio a manager over here to unlock this. wait 10-15 mins nobody shows up customer gets all pissed at me then guess what its my fault. If you do the math, having 48 hours ppto per year and 5 occurrences per 6 months before being terminated isn't a drastic change from 9 occurances. Those 48 hours can prevent 6 occurrences. If you are particularly accident prone or unhealthy and use up your sick days about as fast as you get them, that equals 8 occurrences (3 ppto in 3 months and 5 occurrences) instead of 9. If you're going to be upset about this new policy change, be angry that accruing any of those 5 occurrences cuts into your potential Myshare bonus. Corporate is spinning it to sound like they're rewarding people for their loyalty when in reality they're creating a dangerous and unfair work environment where people are getting paid less for choosing their personal health over Walmart's bottom dollar.

    • @LittleMissDeath
      @LittleMissDeath  5 лет назад +2

      It isn't the fact that they've replaced the 9 points with PPTO, it's the fact that we don't have any PPTO to start with. And they implemented this at a time when the weather in our area fluctuates between warm and cold, leading a lot of people to get sick just as the changes were made.

    They're Full of it, i currently work there. And all it does is create panic mode. I worked here for 6 years going on 7. I have a big problem with.... you have to be on time on the dot no matter what or you get a point. What if I do get there on time and there is a line at the clock. Like there always is, And im late.. or computer not working at this station.. and I have to go to another and by the time I get there I'm late. Total bs.

      JR Black Lol they tried telling us that too. I found out real quick that it was bullshit. I clock in anywhere between 5 minutes early to 5 minutes late every day and I haven’t gotten a single point. They just want to play with scare tactics and it didn’t work at my store, mostly because I question authority and push the limits. 😊

    Wow, Walmart learns so much from their associates that they make their stores worse after hearing associate feedback. Walmart really is "That Place" lol. I feel so radicalized and leaning to the left now. Thanks Walmart for encouraging me to consider socialism. :D I love it.

      In the words of the Violent Femmes, I'm nothing. My political views don't sway one way or another. What I care about are people. And Walmart is screwing over the people.

      Once you call out, you have 7 days to use your ppto. As long as you have 8 hours of ppto, you should be good.
