- Pulled pork is a hot dish right now and vegans should not be excluded from the trend. We know we're trendy enough as it is, handsome and charismatic too but non the less we're going to show you how to make this delicious dish that only takes five minutes and will fool even the biggest meat lover in your life.
Sorry we don't have a written recipe for this! We're currently working on an updated and improved version which will feature in our new book (to be launched in Spring 2018)... So please bear with us until then!
All the best,
Dave & Steve.

I just made this. I was skeptical right up until my teen age son bit into it and went "mmmm". It was delicious and we will definitely be making it again. Thanks for the great recipe.
We make this faux pulled pork all the time and it's fabulous! One thing we do that's different is that we spread it out on a baking pan (at the point where you loaded it onto the buns) and bake it to get it a bit crispier.
how long do you bake it for?
Jackfruit in brine can be found in any asian food store. Not hard at all to find. Pretty clever to take young jack fruit for pulled pork. I grew up eating the organic fresh version right from the trees in Sri Lanka. Now it has become pulled pork! What a great world!!
And it works fab Shanika!! 😄🙌
Love the transformation!
Love you all and surprised about your imagination!
Holland and Barrett sells it too, if you’re in the UK.
i tried this recipe and honestly, it was one of the best meals i ever had! love you guys!
if you take a tin of green(!) jackfruit, it tastes really neutral. which is perfect because after you mixed it up with the barbecue sauce it tastes really meaty! :)
i imagined it to be fruity before as well but it really wasn't !
Hot damn! these men were sent from heaven.... Vegan, nice attitude, rocking body, good looking faces AND CAN COOK??!? Dear lord, please send me one of these men I will be forever grateful, I will thankfully clean up after every amazing vegan meal...and of course he'll have to be shirtless. Please hear my prayer.
Sincerely,
A lonely vegan girl
Hahahahahaahha🤣🤣 Big love!
LMAO I soo did not expect for them to see this comment lol ... (*^_^*)

You guys' creativity is a real blessing. Keep up the good work and love from the USA!

Just tried this recipe and it worked out so well! Looks and tastes very similar to pulled pork with just a slightly different texture! Thank you ❤
I made this tonight with the coleslaw recipe....first I'm hearing of you guys....you guys rock.
Delicioso!!!! Sooo good! I just tried this recipe, easy and delicious, my husband loved it too.
Wow brilliant to hear!!! Keep up the fab work 😄👍🙌
This recipe looks fantastic! I cannot wait to try it. I was just wondering if it would be possible to make this recipe without the oil? Or is it essential for flavour/texture? Thank you!
I love your untimed videos soooooo much better. The 5 min ones are way too stressful and not fun to watch. For me!😬
I love both formats!!! ;)
Mary Bergherr AGREED!!!
I like both, as for a chef i appreciated when some one is cooking good and quick XD
Chris Eats Plants I'm glad you replied as I discovered your channel!🍃
I am so glad you guys had jackfruit at one of your markets. I never would have found it if you didn't.
I just made this after finding jackfruit yesterday. Great fast delicious dish! Thank you both. Katherine
Jackfruit is one of my favorite substitutes for meat! It can be used in everything!
I love watching you, from Turkey.
This looks so good even though I don't even eat pork!
This faux pulled pork looks delicious! 😊👌
I've had a tin of jackfruit in my pantry for ages, but never knew what to do with it. Will definitely give this a try over the weekend!
PS. the link to the coleslaw recipe didn't show up for me?

This is my first time watching you two. Love your energy, i've been looking at pulled pork jackfruit recipes all day and this is the only one that didn't cook in the oven after stove top. I have my ingredients i'm ready to cook it!

Must must must make this!!!!😀😀😀
Thanks guys for another Epic Vegan Meal❤✌
You Gus are GREAT! I love your channel! Your recipes are spot on, you seem so happy, and you really seem like good lads, and you’re an awesome team! Thank you ! You definitely make my life better!
I just had one of these from a restaurant the other day... theirs had much to much vinegar and I am really looking forward to trying this! Awesome guys!
Love the recipe guys! Thank you for making a bbq recipe because I try to stay away from store bought versions. Also, love that it didn’t take too long to make
Wowzers look like the real pull pork... I’m going to give this a try thank you for this amazing video
It's just incredible!! 😄👍🙌
Now the almost impossible job of finding jackfruit.
Was thinking the same thing. I live in Amish country.
Amazon is a good starting point Daniel 😆
The Happy Pear Hey Dave and Steve, your videos are great. I was watching one which was up last year, it had a guy called Conor in it that reversed his MS, is it possible to get a link about his story, I would really appreciate it. Cheers guys :-)
you could just shred mushrooms or shredd and cook carrots aswell before adding sauce
can find it in most asian shops
I've had a can of jackfruit in my cupboard for so long, now I know what to do with it lol!!!
I just invested my life savings in tamari futures
Love this! Thank you so much for a quick and tasty recipe 😀
5 years later still remaking the recipe ❤️
just did it and it was good .. a bit too sweet for my taste but it was really tasty :))
I meant to say You Guys are Great, sorry!
Just made this. Tasty as Friday, and the sauce is fucking amazing!!!
they look great! I recalled eating jackfruit as a boy but I don't remember them looking like this... oh, the twin moment when both of you look at each other and say in unison 5 minutes...
Looks yum. How long have you been vegan? I was looking at your new cookbook which isn't entirely vegan so was wondering how "new" you were.
My mouth is watering.
2 legends. I've tried one previously that baked the jackfruit. Will try this asap 👍 go raibh maith agaibh 😁
Just finished this delicious nutritious creation as dinner with my beautiful non~vegan man who reckons it's better than pulled pork...Yes!! 😄
So simple...quick...filling and finger licking gooood...THANK YOU xXx
So satisfying to make the bbq sauce from scratch!
Thats incredible!! You're absolutely brill 😄👍🙌
+The Happy Pear
And my whole family were lovin the quick fudge...Simples!
Breakfast Burrito had my Da (who rarely tries any of my "rabbit food") and my Man having a second one in one week 😆
You've re~inspired me to get cooking again...Thanks!!
you guys are so gassed!, love the vid, ill definitely have to try this out! :P
Yes epic lads i will definitely be trying this
Delicious 😋
Would this work with fresh jackfruit?
I'd like to try this with a jamaican jerk sauce!!!
Looks yummy!😊
Def worth giving a go, Andrea! 😄👍🙌
What's that great upbeat song???
so since the jackfruit that you used came in a can, does that make the smell reduced since there is some of the fruit missing, or is the flesh from the can stinky as well?
Are you thinking of durian? Jackfruit isn't really stinky. When ripe, it tastes like Juicy Fruit gum; apparently it was the inspiration for the flavor of the gum. The Happy Pear lads are using the unripe jackfruit commonly sold tinned, which has a very faint taste of lettuce and no real smell. Sometimes it can taste a bit tinny, if cheaply canned, but that's as stinky as it gets.
I was sort of thinking of durian so I did a little research on the jack fruit as well and some of the articles about it are that it smells of gum and onions.
Thanks for clarifying with "The Happy Pear lads are using the unripe jackfruit commonly sold tinned, which has a very faint taste of lettuce and no real smell."
Sounds like the BBQ sauce will easily add the right flavors. The gum and old onions that is out there regarding the smell of fresh jackfruit had me a bit alarmed as to how BBQ sauce would cover that up.
Thanks and keep up the great vids!
Geez, must be cold where you are :)))
what vegan dinner could I make for non-vegan kids?
Just wondering, why do you guys prefer using tamari over salt?
Some brands are gluten free, its an alternative to salt and soy!
cool recipe! whats the song at 4:22?
they look EPIC ~~ :)
I've never heard of jackfruit and I don't know if I'll be able to find some. Any suggestions on an alternative?
Tyron Reid-Robertson you can get it online! theasiancookshop.co.uk/green-jackfruit-3527-p.asp
A little unrelated but does anyone know the Hoodie that he is wearing?
I can't read what is on the shoulder...
It's gym plus coffee! An Irish athleisure company that we love! Check them out gympluscoffee.com 😄😋
The Happy Pear
I did and I really like the looks and the colors but a bit expensive with the shipping to America.
Another day :)
I found it tasted better the next day.
All the other videos say to chop off the core but I didn't see them do that, just "pull it "
What would you do with that other jackfruit bits that didn't make it into the recipe? Lol just wondering! I've never had jackfruit.
Amanda Banana i would assume they compost the rest. or maybe use it in a vegetable stock
I was thinking recipe wise! I guess if not good for anything else then I would assume at least a veggie stock lol
The bits they are getting rid of--and most recipes do not recommend this but should--are almost cartilage-like in their texture, and don't soften with cooking. To me they seem like bits of aorta[shudder] and the seed pods look like eyeballs[shudder again], and because they really have no flavor, discarding them isn't wrong. Wild animals won't eat them, speaking from experience.
Nice cutting form! It is one of my biggest pet peeves when people put their index finger on the top of knife
just UGH
Mmmm!!
omg yum!
I thought that was a teaspoon they were using ?!
What does Jack fruit taste like
It's kind of the texture of pineapple but the flavour is just brine until you rinse it and add your own flavouring 😄👍🙌
I can't find jackfruit in my country to save my life. I'm going to make this recipe with artichoke hearts in brine because they look very similar.
bought mine on Amazon which came dented.
4:20 freaky twin syncing
You guys are fucking awesome !
WOOOOOO!!!!!!! 😄👍🙌
Actually made this yesterday haha
bubble grass how was it? After watching this video It want to try it, but want to get others opinions about it, before getting all my ingredients. Thank you.
It's a must try! You got to try anything at least once! #yoloswag I've had this kind of dish at a vegan restaurant and at home. I've also made a Thai curry with jackfruit too. However, I found it to be a bit rich/sickly if the portion size is too large. Although the ingredients I used for the sauce varied a bit.
I would also recommend trying the jackfruit alone in syrup, not in brine to experience the fruit (based on my location). ** Jackfruit is the largest fruit in the world which makes it hard to export it in its wholesome form **
ar ar ar...pulling your jack fruit rofl
😂😂😂😂
👍👍🤤👊👊
Nothing laudable about being an "arch-carnivore."
The tablespoons always look like dessert-size spoons in these videos- makes me nervous to use tablespoons, as it's substantially bigger than dessert spoons, and I don't want to ruin the dish haha
you two are twins?
It's actually one person and some carefully placed mirrors
:D !!
"We're gonna pull our pork" cmon..
Hot damn, a Kosher eater of a man, myself, looking for a guy who has the personality of either one! If not vegan, at least kosher and aware, please...
Thank you
Just one point, it ain't pork, call it pulled jackfruit, pulledjack, jackapulla, be creative, a true vegan even abandons animal names
why do vegans mimic non vegan foods?
The music gave me cancer
I don't see the need to scream at your audience.
Melexi Moon cry more
you guys are doing a great job. However, vegan food has its own identity and character we do not need to borrow names from meat eaters. Pork is not the word to use here.
... or maybe it is, because this is an imitation of a non-vegan dish. Make up a name at random and nobody will know what the video is about.
Antoine Haddad yeah, but you can call it something like "pulled BBQ jackfruit" and make a reference to pork. But you just can't call pork vegan. It is meat. That is not vegan. And if you call a recipe vegan, it can't contain pork. Even in the name.
Would this work with fresh jackfruit?
Nope
That´s a shame, but thanks for telling me.
The ripe jackfruit is too sweet for a recipe like this.
