According to the Levon's book, "Wheels On Fire," 300,000 audience witnessed The Band's this rehearsal which was followed by The Dead and The Allmans. Thank you for sharing.
Same here. I was in upstate NY when Woodstock happened but was too young to attend. I was too young to go to Watkins Glen too, but I knew it would be the last rock festival of its kind and told my parents there was no way I was going to miss it.
@@RollingStoneZzzzz I think we arrived on Saturday and pitched our tent. I only remember being there one night. Somehow we found other friends from home in a crowd of 600,000 people and spent the night in their tent.
Awesome to see! Thanks for this video in its raw form. I enjoyed seeing them setting up to get ready to play and how they coordinated with each other. The storm put the group on hold until Garth had his amazing solo between the rain drops. it would have been better if the words "getty images" could be removed. I loved it anyway. Thank you!!!!
@@bosox9017 The watermark can be removed by paying on the site, which I can't afford :(. Also, Garth's solo is actually The Genetic Method and they cut it off before Chest Fever starts.
Hey - I love The Band - so much so - I moved to Nazareth to see if I'd be half passed Dead! But maybe the lads should have done a sound check before the audience got there? Just Sayin....
If you stick around long enough, you never know what beautiful things will appear on RUclips or anywhere else.
