So very sad that I don't have the available finances to download your books! Most unfortunately, I'll have to rely on your RUclips videos for guidance. Thanks Michelle! ❤️
I know so many women who suffer with these issues and their doctors always tell them to drink more water or increase fiber in their diets. Why on earth isn’t the medical community up to date on this very common female malady? My sister and a dear friend, both women in their 70’s, have specifically asked their doctors ( one a GYN) about this and have been brushed off with useless, or harmful information. I’m sending them the link to your video. Thanks so much for your straightforward, no nonsense approach.
Dr's have been telling me to drink more water since I was a teen!!! All it did was make me pee constantly! I have never had kids but have a Grade 2 "plus" rectocele AND cystocele. Lucky me. It was caused be straining to poo my entire life and heavy weightlifting. I love Michelle's videos. They are so informative, especially when you are scared to death. Most doctors are just idiots IMO.
I feel like several things you said in this video might change my life. I have tried to describe my symptoms to my doctor several times, but didn’t know the right terms and she just said there’s nothing to worry about. I eat a lot of fiber and have been trying to drink more water to compensate, but hearing that fiber might make stool bulkier changes my perspective. You also said that ”you might not feel an urge, you might just feel a heaviness” - why have I never heard this before? I feel constant heaviness sometimes, but didn’t feel like there was anything I could do about it. I’ve also never understood the ”never strain” advice, because I’ve just wondered how it’s supposed to happen without straining. Getting a practical explanation that’s more detailed than ”just relax” and tailored for this situation is really helpful. I don’t know if I have a rectocele, but my symptoms seem to match the criteria.
I've been gone thru this for five years and today I got to know I have a significant number of length in rectocele !! I've got fissures so badly I couldn't even let doctor for physical examination . It has disturbed me and my daily life upto the point where I felt hopeless .I couldn't do a job . I was in constant pain for years coz of these doctors who don't know how to diagnose properly!!! Now I came to know what I have and I am glad !!!!!
Michelle, you are an absolute lifesaver! I am a retired health professional and have never been given the specialist advice and supportive information that I’ve got from your videos! You’re right that having a rectal prolapse is extremely embarrassing, and not something you can easily talk about, least of all to your family, and my GP told me there was nothing I could do about it, it was just a nuisance! I’ve felt suicidal! You are absolutely the bees knees Michelle and I am so grateful! Miranda!
@mirandawoods9306 I'm really touched by your comment, Miranda. I'm so glad that my videos have been helpful to you. Remember, you're not alone in facing health challenges, and seeking support is a courageous step. Take care, and wish you all the best!🙏
Many people are facing same issue as you and even some worst. Please never allow any situation push you to suic--de. Stay strong, you will get better and better, it is a phase that will pass. Much love.
For heaven's sake, vote democrat and bring your country out of the dark ages before the republican christian fundamentalist Taliban takes away more of your human rights.
Anna , as another American soon to be without healthcare , I agree . And I thank the Lord for leading me to this channel and Michelle Kenway . I am just learning about this , had been suffering for past week . I plan on learning all that I can 💗
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been suffering with severe constipation for over a month! I’ve never had issues moving my bowels before, so I was very concerned. I made an appointment with my Gastroenterologist but the earliest availability is in July. It’s so hard to see specialists post Covid you have to triage your own symptoms and research a solution. I was never diagnosed with rectocele but I think that’s what I have. I tried your technique for bowel emptying and this was the first time I moved my bowels without straining!! Thanks to you I will be able to manage my symptoms until i can get a definitive diagnosis. Thank you!!!!!!!
@jazziestory4959 great to read this Jazzie, This really is the technique to use long-term with or without a rectocele so keep up the good work and all the best with your management
Thank you so much for this video. My Mother-in-law has been struggling with constipation and stomach pain and issues for almost 3 years now - and has found no relief from medications - and was not receiving diet guidance nor any guidance for her muscles. They finally found out that she has a rectocoele along with her muscles not relaxing when they need to due to her being so tense while dealing with this situation. I am going to share this video with her - and I hope she is able to find relief by making these changes in her routine.
Thank you. Glad I found you. In the last year I was told I have a posterior rectocele and also a lateral rectocele (under small intestine at right) with a badly healed perineal tear, internal hemorrhoids, a rectal defect, a cystocele and a septum (growing from hysterectomy scar in recent years) which prevents a pessary from seating. I am in the process of being scheduled for trans/vag mesh surgery (plus other repairs.) After this video and some other research I am postponing and reconsidering whether I can continue living with these conditions. I am doing some things right and know how to double splint if necessary, but your info on "M Ooo" is new and I am going to check your site for more info. I wish everyone knew not to rush the potty process in life, not to ignore the seriousness of prolonged constipation (the side effect of many things including menopause and medications,) and not to let the vaginal area become weak even when aging and not having a sexual relationship. These were not talked about in my life previous to a year ago. You are doing important work.
@Milyn King thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Yes I agree with you in that emptying the bowel correctly does not receive the attention it deserves - I've spoken with numerous surgeons who haven't been trained in this and it would seem to be an essential post op requirement for individuals who have pelvic prolapse repair, rectal prolapse repair and even hemorrhoidectomy along with education in how to keep the stool the right consistency and moving well rather than straining to empty. All the best to you for your future health and wellbeing and lovely to hear from you indeed! 🙏
just had same operation.transformed my life.don't think don't wait, get it done. you'll wonder why you waited so long. word of warning.I've had 2 have it done by a WOMAN.difference is amazing. women understand the importance of how things look, to how you feel about yourself and your self esteem. a man can't appreciate that. can't thank my female gynaecologist enough.
Great information. I have also found out that rocking in a rocking chair is very helpful exercise when you are limited. I find that when you push with your feet to push back and rock it helps with creating a Kegel type of exercise. Thank you for all your help
I am very grateful to you Michelle for all the helpful videos you provide and the positive support you give as you help me to understand my body more. You are a wonderful teacher!
@Carol Foss I’m touched beyond words - Thank you so much, I really appreciate hearing that from you. I am most grateful to your lovely support indeed ❤️❤️
Wow. Seriously the most informative videos I've seen yet & more information than I've received in 3 years! I do have the opposite problem instead of constipation I was getting diarrhea. Is this common or anything you've heard of? 100% mine just came on at the beginning of menopause and now I have to take Diamide to slow the food down and create a stool avoiding incontinence. At 48 it has been absolutely devastating. Initally I had next to no help from any physicians I've seen. They seemed stumped. What is wrong with the health industry that they seem to be so unaware of this issue?!!! They need to be educated because it's such a life changing thing if you develop it. Thanks again. You're the best! Literally!!
@punkyfish22 my pleasure and I'm really sorry to hear that you've been going through such a tough time with your toilet issues - I hope the information shared helps you. 🙏💕
Thank you for this very helpful video. One thing I might suggest is to not give up cruciferous vegetables. Cruciferous vegetables are so necessary in our lives for the health benefits, for protection against cancer, and for the necessary fiber. I would suggest that if you get any gasiness from them that just means that your body isn’t used to them and doesn’t have the necessary bacteria to digest it. But our microbiomes can change with what we eat and the more you eat them the less gassy you become. So if you experience any gasiness with cruciferous vegetables or beans just take it slow and introduce them slowly and your body will get used to it and no longer have the gassy symptoms.
Great comment Ann! I'll add that this can be trial and error too - find what does effect you and sometimes you need to cut them out and reintroduce one by one to know the major culprits. Yes I love cruciferous veggies for their many health benefits especially for the gut biome. Thanks so much for making this imprtant point!
Finally i know what is ut that's wrong with me. I learnt the technique accidentally and now this lady is telling it makes me feel better. Thanks a million
Your videos are always informative, you explain every detail in such a clear and logical manner ,thanks, did not feel embarrassed the way you did it,thanks lots
Hi Corina, isn't it a shame that this topic can seem so embarrassing when for so many women it is their 'normal'. If more women speak openly about this issue then we feel better about ourselves and much better informed. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, much appreciated!
You are terrific Michelle, such clear explanations and advice. I watch you every now and again to get inspired and remotivated to deal with my rectocele. Thank you.
@Susan-zj3ds Thank you for your kind words! I'm so glad to know that my videos have been helpful for you in dealing with your rectocele. Wish you all the best!🙏
Thank you. I'm currently undergoing physical therapy and awaiting my surgical consultation. It has been a long journey, with waiting for doctor appointments to become available. I started with my primary care doctor, who referred me to a gynecologist for further evaluation. The gynecologist then referred me to a physical therapist and a surgeon for consultation. The physical therapy has been very helpful, and I strongly recommend it. It is hard work but very much worth it. The sessions are private. I am looking forward to my consultation, as I realize that my vaginal wall must be repaired. Good luck on your journey. Get to a gynecologist and be evaluated so that you can start your treatment.
@jaynehorne8577 you're welcome! Thank you for sharing your journey. I wish you all the best with your upcoming surgical consultation and recovery. Good luck on your journey!🙏
Thanks, this is so useful. Just had surgery after suffering for at least 10 years. Wish I’d know this a long time ago. I had no idea what was wrong with me and was so embarrassed.
Thanks Michelle! I’m al most 3 weeks post op from my rectopexy, Sacralcolpopexy and perineum repair. My pelvic muscles keep clenching involuntarily. I start PFPT Wed all external for now of course. I still feel like I have some prolapse but I am told I’m still healing. I had lost the urge but it’s coming back! Thanks for helping me and everyone here
@naturegirl4074 you're welcome! It's fantastic to hear about your progress and that you're starting pelvic floor physical therapy. The healing process can take time, but it sounds like you're on the right track. Keep following your healthcare provider's guidance. Wishing you a smooth recovery! 🙏 💖
@@michellephysio thank you! I’m trying hard to be patient lol it is a rough recovery but worth it for me. I had so much going on. You’ve been so helpful Michelle!
@naturegirl4074 my pleasure - happy I could be of help! Remember, patience is key, and it's fantastic to hear that you're staying committed to your healing journey. All the best to you! 🙏
I had a large rectocele repare just over 2 months ago, I'm so glad i found you! I have been worse since i had my repair.. 6 kidney infections since & constant bladder pain & backache like it's all dragging down & bruised.. can this be normal or a complication? I am doing everything right & taken it easy but it's really getting me down 😖
Hi there, I'm sorry to hear about all your complications, just awful! I think the best place to start is with the information here especially the bowel management info as your internal wound is still repairing (up to 3 months average). Have you started doing your Kegel exercises yet?
Hello Michelle, thank you for taking the time and energy to explain rectocele. I am 69, and inspite of regularl yearly gynecology visits, NO ONE ever told me that I had a rectocele until after meeting a new Gyno!! I was shocked… had never heard of “rectocele”. Said to myself, “huh, no wonder why I can’t poop without pushing my 2 fingers up onto my anus!! It’s been 5 yrs since the big reveal, and now after much consternation, I will see a urogynecologist for further recommendations. Also, not sure if maybe a Colorectal Surgeon is a better choice to do a repair. Guess I’ll wait to see what the Urogynecologist has to say about this… Again, thank you for your most helpful tips🙂
I went to see a urogynacologist as I was referred to him via my GP. Well! That appointment was like a freight train. I had no idea what I was in for. I thought he might want to talk to me a little but he went straight into an invasive examination with urine flow and things being stuck up me and it was pretty awful. Diagnosis was: your prolapse isn’t too bad so here’s a pessary (which was very uncomfortable and I never used it!). So just a little warning to those who get referred to a urogynacologist. They’re kinda gunning for you to have surgery and they don’t suggest any other options (Eg kegels, yoni steaming, hypopressives, yoni massage, castor oil packs, Pilates, all these things can help)
You don't have to insert the fingers into your anus. You can do "stinting' which is where you insert fingers vaginally against the vaginal wall to push the stool down the rectum this way. I did stinting for over 10 yaars. I finally had Pelvic Organ Prolapse Surgery to correct the rectocele. Next surgery is for hemmorhoids. I wish some doctor would have told me after my hysterectomy at 40 years of age that my pelvic organs would possibly prolapse and that I'd have to have major surgery in my 70's to get this repaired to improve the quality of my life!
@@Nolasusan1 - I had hysterectomy at 29 and was not told this either. Iwas also not told menopause would follow within 8 years, no matter my young age. I don't want surgery though and will keep splinting and using wet wipes.
I had surgery probably 15 years ago. Yes I don’t have prolapse anymore but empty bowel still a problem and practically often need to do disimpaction myself. What I understood that I need to drink more water and eat veggies and fruits more to have regular everyday BM and I didn’t do it enough.
I have all 3 organs prolapsed, i walk twice a day for 2hrs, which i find relaxing. Movacol gives me gas, 4 x what i normally do, i took myself off as it became a problem. Did it work, no. I now find steamed vegables work a treat, diabetic as well. Sometimes i sit on loo for 20 minutes, but generally that is when i am clearing a few days bulk. Awaiting follow up from hospital, not sure what the outcome, but persary is not working. I find you advice calming, so thankyou. When i walk i do pelvic exercises starting from 2 seconds hold up with core intact, resting between each one for muscles to rest, to holding for 20 seconds, extremely hard at the start but much easier now. I follow up exercise with tai-chi (spelling?), which i do stretching and slow movements as my cool down. Mid 60's and struggling with the lack of care for women in Qld public health, i am 16 months from first symptoms, and still not have access to pelvic floor exercises. This distressing issue for many women seems to be less urgent for public health. I will watch your video, and why in an age of technology is this not available to all women, focusing on what is wrong, and your circumstances.
Hi Michelle, this was a very informative video.☺️☺️ I am a 23year old male. I have been suffering from dysenergic defecation ( Type 1 pelvic floor dysynergia) since 8 years and was diagnosed recently. Since its been there for so many years and due to straining I have developed rectocele too. So can you please do a video on biofeedback therapy and managing rectocele as a male? Thankyou
Hi Manoj thanks for your comment. I am filming a video on completer rectal prolapse management for men next week so should be released in the coming month. Keep an eye out for it (subscribe and click on the bell to get notified of its release). All the best to you!

Thank you! I’m 53 years old and just started experiencing this. I’ve had two children, 15 years later an Appendectomy, and re-hospitalization for major constipation. Six years later, I felt the urge to go, but didn’t. I instinctively checked my vagina and felt the stool bulging. First the hemorrhoids, now this 😮! I’ve been taking Senokot every other day because I’m afraid stool will get caught and cause infection.
Use of a Pessary for prolapse increases not so much "constipation" but what I would call "putting a gate on the stool door" Have you any suggestions how to manage this specific side effect of using a Pessary? A dedicated video would be great Michele. Thank You once again for your informative & helpful presentations 🙏👌🙏 Orange potato's are very effective for assisting with regular soft bowel motions & of course constipation.
Brilliant! Thank you so much for touching on this topic. One question- you talk of foods to avoid - what foods then should/can you eat more of? Thanks again🙂

This is wonderful. So helpful! I'm 30 and ended up with rectocele during my last pregnancy. I have also had IBS-C for most of my life. My battle with rectocele is a vicious cycle because of my IBS-C. I struggle greatly with figuring out a proper diet to help with the chronic constipation that comes from the IBS-C and trying to keep my rectocele from not worsening and I have NO help whatsoever. I'm lost. I've been dealing with this for over a year now and there has been no progress. What sort of foods would you recommend me eating to help battle this vicious cycle?
Cayl Harvey . Go and look up for Prana thrive program online design by Amanda le with she is a great Naturopath that helps patients with all the forms if IBS. I am doing it right now and I can feel a lift in my guts so in my pelvic organs as well. Good luck.
Hi ! I'm someone suffering with the same problems and MORE! SO sick of doctors l decided to go the natural way by changing my diet ...found all the info l needed. I basically cured myself. First 4 constipation l bought SLIPPERY ELM. Look it up..no more laxative addiction. There's simple exercises for chronic constipation and so much information on RUclips. Dr. Axe will give you great tips, also Dr. Berg, and many more .There's a doc called "The Poop Guy" Dr .Sameer Islam. Basically l cut OUT ALL WHITE FOOD: SUGAR, bread ( gluten sensitivity), ANY processed foods. I eat mostly BONE BROTH in that l boil greens like spinach, bok choy, kale. I eat mostly fish or lean chicken. You w get the exact stuff and more info from them .But stop any fried, McDonald's, processed food, even healthy food, like low fat is no good. Your situation may be different from mine but BONE BROTH alone is a stomach issue SOOTHER along w some herbs and certain stuff that repair our messed up guts. Any questions, feel free. Wish you well.
Thank you Michelle I had rectocele surgery 6 weeks ago and I have celiac disease, chronic constipation and GERD. I really need to pay attention to avoid any good to cause gad and help me to move bowel movements.
Omg thank you o much!! I thought I had IBS for the longest and this video as well as a bit of additional research has confirmed for me that rectocele is the actual issue! Would dancing or skating be a helpful exercise in your opinion?
@Amel Rodriguez Thank you for watching and sharing your experience with kegel exercises. I'm glad to hear they have helped you. Keep up the good work! ❤️🌺
I have prolapsed, I also had chemotherapy and radiation in 2018 ,I have Neuropathy which caused me to lose strength in my legs, feet and did have bad balance issues because of the Neuropathy ! I have read that my prolapsed could have been caused by all these reasons! I've always had constipation issues with Hypothyroidism. I'm 65 but this prolapsed is really effecting my day to day life ,always running to the restrm in fear of wetting myself and the pressure from the bulging when on my feet to long and having to make sure my bowels are empty , it's a Nitemare! I only wish I had heard of Prolapsed and why aren't GYN doctors educating woman on Prolapsed on regular basis? IT can effect any woman at any age ,I've never heard of it until now ! That it's self is crazy that Doctors don't educate woman on this horrible problem!
I have found drinking laxado once a day to keep my stools soft and a diet of lots if veggies helps massively keeping stool easy to pass and doesn't get stuck in pouch
A small cystocelle and rectocelle I’m really struggling the only way my bowel will empty is if I’m constipated any other way I’d be sat on the toilet all day. Anytime I try to do pelvic floor Excersize It gives me bladder infections “really struggling “
I’ve tried all of these techniques. They haven’t worked. Surgery scares me. My problem is severe. My solution for now is organic coffee enemas. There are other health benefits to these, and I am feeling better than I have in years. I am also going to try a yoni egg, as I’ve heard people have had great results curing their prolapse issues with these.
Can rectocele happen due to tight muscles led weakness ? because any muscles which is weak may work hard to keep things up so may can get tight as well with time! And vise-versa a muscle which is tight is weak as well. So if these are the cases, should we do the Kegel's exercise which is a strengthening exercise which may be aggravate the symptoms if weakness is associated with tight ones. And if yes, then what should we do? Thank you. Really forward for reply!
@Health Specifics yes tight pelvic floor muscles can tighten and you're spot on, this can paradoxically cause pelvic floor weakness. The usual treatment is to learn to relax the pelvic floor muscles, especially during bowel emptying plus through pelvic floor relaxation training and then recommence kegels gradually when pelvic floor relaxation is learnt. Lower abdominal bulge forward is a great way to relax the pelvic floor muscles during emptying see here in the moo to poo video ruclips.net/video/QDk93cvZAuk/видео.html and pelvic floor relaxation video here ruclips.net/video/Auca88tmUu8/видео.html If unsure, see a pelvic floor physio to help you learn to relax your pelvic floor muscles before recommencing Kegels. I hope this helps you with the information you require and all the best!
Thank you so much I love your videos and how come your voice is, it’s truly soothing. I was not able to find the video to the top right corner. Can you please link it I went through your entire page and couldn’t find it either.
@rshaba00 Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I apologize for the confusion in finding the video you're referring to. Could you please specify which video you're looking for, and I'll be happy to provide you with the direct link?
I'm buying that tool! I hate using my fingers when it's the time of the month lol. I prolapsed when I had a lung infection in 2017 from a violent coughing fit, and it's getting so bad now that I'm in my mid-40's.
Lilly Jane, there is a surgical option to fix that problem and improve your intimate life . You don't have to use your fingers that way the rest of your life. You are in your 40s and you need to enjoy life.
@@chancepeace2064 eh. No one is trying to have sex with me. I used to weight 300lbs and now my body is a saggy bag of crepey loose skin after loosing weight. I just want to poop normally, not get laid.

Thanks michelle for sharing your wonderful knowledge. I have read your books for my mother. Could you please guide me about the impact of exercise with aerial hammock for prolapse patient. My mother does an exercise . While lying on a mat she moves the hammock with both of her legs. It creates upward pressure and pull on the muscles of abdomen and pelvic area. Plz reply.
Hello there Priyanka, from what you describe this is an intense abdo core exercise I probably wouldn't recommend for most prolapse patients unless their pelvic floor muscles were very strong and the prolapse mild. All the best!
I'm 73 yrs old and have had a grade 4 rectocele for years. I was told that my first delivery would have caused a lot of damage aggravated by 2 more deliveries. One baby was lying on my bowel. Went to pelvic floor physio, had shelf pessaries fitted with v uncomfortable results. A v understanding consultant offered me bowel irrigation kit, which was quite helpful. I'm struggling now. I'm eating less as since having long covid and being inactive I've put on weight and been diagnosed with high cholesterol and pre diabeties. I've changed my diet and am doing intermittent fasting, approved by my doctor but am really struggling now with slow motility? Well, the bowel irrigation isn't helping now. Just the odd pebble. Macrogol really caused burning inside and after taking another stool softner, i lost control of my bowels on a day out, tho actually i usually struggle as you say in the video. I've resorted to a magnesium supplement and bisacodyl but my stool still struggles to get out. I really don't want an op as I've heard that they can be disasterous. Am i missing something that may make life more comfortable?
@diyfferent because I could end up worse off. It's also extremely painful for a while after when you pass stool and not always successful from what ppl have experienced. I need to do everything to keep active at my age.
@janne2744 I'm so sorry to read how this problem is impacting your life. Yes I do think there is potentially more that can be done including but not confined to; pelvic floor coordination, bowel emptying techique & position, diet, general mobility and medication review. Do you have access to pelvic floor physiotherapy? If so, a thorough assessment could reveal possible areas that may be better managed. You may be able to find a pelvic floor physiotherapist by contacting the national physiotherapy association in your country of residence. Another thought that has come to mind that may assist bowel transit is constipation massage see here ruclips.net/video/oH5xVjw8yEs/видео.htmlsi=J1iWxsUjyzwu-TUI Please let me know if I can help you access further support here by emailing me support@pelvicexercises.com.au Wishing you all the very best and keen to hear how you go if you have time to message me janne 🙏💝
Thank you. I had physio and all of the advice regarding emptying etc. Loads of tests and dietary advice. I also have diverticular disease which makes matters worse. Suffering from long covid now and am told it affects the bowels nerves which causes the fatigue in long covid. Infact the whole body. Maybe I should have had the operation but many women have been greatly affected by the damage that the mesh caused. Disabled infact.
A brilliant video, thank you so very much Michelle. I have constipation problems. I take Normacol once a day which sometimes works, and sometimes doesn’t. So, I think let’s go for a walk with hubby (I have epilepsy and can’t go out alone), but after taking a brisk walk for half an hour on the way home that’s when the bowel wants to work and I have awful problems getting home!! We eat very healthy food at at present are having salads or veggie meals. Would you please be able to advise me what’s best to do, apart from using cycling clips at the ankles of my jeans?! 🤭
Hi Michelle, Thank you very much for posting this video, and all the videos on your channel. I subscribed and I am a loyal fan! I found all your videos informative and so easy to follow, and I can only imagine how wonderful would be to actually work with you in person! Unfortunately, it's not only Covid but also distance, I live in Canada :) I have a question concerning rectocele: in your professional experience, does rectocele worsen after surgery for superficial fistulotomy which cut about 1cm of fibers (not muscle) in the perineum? Also, can physiotherapy repair perineal descend? Thank you so much for your time. You are absolutely fabulous!!
Hi Laura re fistulotomy and rectocele I will ask an expert and get back to you on this. My guess is that it shouldn't worsen rectocele, if anything there would be scar tissue that would possible tighten the tissue but this would depend upon the exact location, type of repair and whether or not there was any muscle or facial involvement. It's more likely that constipation and straining after the procedure would worsen this condition however I could stand corrected. Re your qn on perineal descent yes, pelvic floor physio can help with this again depending upon the extent of the descent. Definitely worth your while following up with a pelvic floor physio. Thanks so much for your feedback and for being such a loyal subscriber, I'm really so glad that the information is easy to follow, I hope this one helps you Laura. Btw your qns and comments are always most welcome! All the best ongoing management.
@@michellephysio Thank you for your very prompt reply Michelle! Yes, please get back to me when you have a chance to speak with an specialist. The fistulotomy involved only fascia not muscle, my surgeon told me. What I wanted to add is that your videos helped me during some really rough times in my life. I had a slow and painful recovery after surgery, and I honestly found a lot of relief and comfort watching your videos. Your voice and entire demeanour are very soothing, and I only have to turn on your video to quickly find my comfort place. You truly have a gift Michelle, please keep up the good work! I am doing your routines for core, arms and glutes, every week. Please post new 20-min routines, when you can , with or without Courtney :) Take care, and see you in cyberspace :)
@@laurarezlescu1358 Hi Laura I spoke with a urogynaecologist on this matter yesterday - expertise is in fistula and prolapse repair and the comment is NO, this repair should not impact and not worsen the rectocele. Laura I really do appreciate your feedback, you and women like you are the reason I make these videos. I'm so humbled that I can make or have made a difference to help you. Courtney is studying atm but I will definitely make some more 20min workouts! 💜
I was prescribed Lactulose syrop and take Senakot. Is that ok to take with this issue? I have a suspected bladder/rectal prolapse. Constant UTI symptoms, but never does an infection register, only blood in my urine. I feel like something is being missed.
Making the moo sound and the poo sound already feel like they could be a game changer as I can feel the difference in my abdomen and in my pelvic floor at the same time. I will definately try this next time I go. Thank you
Very helpful, since I don't want surgeries. I am confused about diet though. It seems like the diets for rectocele and hemorrhoids are contradicting each other, but I have both. We've been on the Paleo diet at our house and that has a LOT of vegetables and fruits. More fiber for hemorrhoids, but less fiber for rectocele....what to do???
Your video was so informative and helpful-thank you! So what are the alternative vegetables to the gas making veggies; please. And do u have any videos for weight management/exercise for disabled persons? Ty again for sharing!
Hello there, the vegetables that I personally find most helpful are sweet potato, in fact any potato. tomatoes (I choose the yellow ones as lower in acid for my sensitive tummy) mushrooms, baby spinach leaves, pumpkin, carrots, alfalfa, squash and suprisingly I started out with tinned lentils 1 spoonful at first and gradually increased and they seem quite tolerable. Hulled tahini is wonderful especially mixed with low fat yogurt as a dressing but not too much tahini if you're trying to manage weight. I know these are seeds not veggies but very good for you. It's time to make some pelvic floor friendly weight management videos for women, I'm onto it, all the best!
Over a year ago, i was experiencing a feeling that something wasn't right indide my rectom. I mentioned this to surgeon who does my colonoscopy. He said there was nothing wrong and if i was constipated to take Medimucil Made it worse. Alot worse! Now i nedd help with what to do now!
Hello - please can I ask your thoughts on using kegal weighted balls? I now use them every day as it makes me feel secure and like everything is going to stay in place - I do kegal exercise too but probably not as often as I should.
Gud evg mam..I am punitha and now my postnatal day was 50, I have constipation problem and I seen my doctor, she told mild rectocele so she advised don't constipation, toilet regularly and advice liquid paraffin for one week...but I have doubt is there any major complications in my life I am thinking lot worried this rectocele..this is serious issue or not mam...please clarify my doubt.
@punithavathi s I understand your concern however a mild rectocele is not a mjor problem, in fact numerous women suffer prolapse after natural childbirth (almost as many as 1 in 2 women) unfortunately this isn't well discussed and so women are left feeling unnecessarily concerned. Follow the advice of your doctor and most importantly avoid straining to empty your bowel with good diet (including lentils/beans), regular walking exercise and you may like to check this bowel emptying video too so that you can avoid straining ruclips.net/video/QDk93cvZAuk/видео.html I hope this helps and all the best! 🙏
I really need help. I have a squatty potty, I've been doing moo to poo, I started the noom app. My diet is now vegetables and whole grains for the past 2 months. I don't eat constipating foods. I drink 3 or more liters of water per day but I am still constipated 😫 I am still having to strain. What can I do. should I start taking stool softeners daily? I'm at a loss 😫
Hi Jess I go into the medication options towards the latter part of this video. Also if you are just eating vegetables and whole grains then you are likely on a high fibre diet which can actually worsen this condition see here ruclips.net/video/VESQbm8SGpI/видео.html I hope this helps
Hi Elby most of the damage is done with the first baby and yes this is a common concern women have. The key will be to focus on avoiding constipation and emptying using the correct technique during your next pregnancy because as you well know, pregnancy and constipation often go hand in hand. All the best! I'd love to hear about your next baby some day 💜
Hi dear my doctor Said i have rectocele but when i m peeing a little bulg in my vegina other wise no bulg at all or during motion nothing bluging in vegina what's that mean plz tell
@Kate Screaton from what I have read in the research colonics are of no benefit in the management of constipation with rectocele. Far better to choose lower fibre or stool softener foods along with psyllium husks (if tolerated) more information here ruclips.net/video/TSRbYpWSTxI/видео.html I hope this helps Kate
Hi Michelle. What advice can you give me. I think I did too many kegels too quickly and now things feel really tight. If I try to do one or two for the day things tense up even more. Ik that kegels are the only exercise for prolapse so do you suggest I try to relax the muscles first for a couple days before restarting. Thank you
Yes Brittany, so happens I just released a whole video on this problem and how to deal with it. Women with prolapse can have muscle tension just the same as women without prolapse. This info will teach you what to do in much more detail than I can in a reply, all the best to you! ruclips.net/video/-Cq1upGF5UU/видео.html
Thanku so much for this video. One of my sister is having this problem and i suggested do follow whatever u said in video... Can it be cured if done for months? Also she is just 1 month pregnant now. If she maintains a good diet and exercise, wil it impact her pregnancy?
Yes definitely. I suffer constipation because of it. It causes a pouch which makes poo hard to pass and at the same time the water is absorbed making it even harder. It's not fun at all.
Waw this is so helpful !!... You basically covered everything...but what about women who have a tight pelvic floor muscles and having their internal anal sphincter contracted ...what kind of advice you can give them ?
Yes this is challenging, I understand. Do pelvic floor relaxation during emptying using the technique I outline in this video for bowel emptying plus pelvic floor relaxation techniques see here in this daily pelvic floor relaxation audio routine which teaches you how to relax your pelvic floor muscles with daily practice www.pelvicexercises.com.au/pelvic-exercise-products/pelvic-pain-therapy/pelvic-pain-and-pelvic-relaxation/ I hope this gives you some useful direction Chaima
@@michellephysio I see that in pelvic pain, you recommend the Kegel's ex. You assume that a tight as well as weak muscles!!! I am sorry I am asking this question- Pain may tighten up the muscle which if becomes chronic may lead to overactive muscles all the time. So i want to when exactly to do Kegel's exercise? I am confused. Need clarification. Thank you
I have had rectocele surgery and have to do all the exercises and such but instead of constipation I have really bad diarrhea can you give me some suggestions plz
Michelle, I have seen your other videos as well, where you teach the 'moo' technique. So, as I understood it, we are to make the 'mmm-moo' sound on exhale, correct?
@Anione111 try to keep the breath you have in your lungs rather than exhaling with the 'Moo' sound if possible. Having air in your lungs will help provide gentle pressure for emptying without straining, I hope this makes sense
@@michellephysio Sorry, I don't get it. Could you please do a detailed video on this, demonstrating the technique in relation to the breath, inhalation and exhalation, specifically.
@ Antoine111 Ok let me clarify - you want me to show you exactly how to breathe during moo to poo brace & bulge technique? I can easily make a short on this. Can you confirm this is exactly what you need please?
@@michellephysio Yes, correct. It would be very helpful. The confusion stems from the fact that you cannot say moo and not exhale breath and when you exhale, stomach goes in and not out, but you say stomach should push out. I feel if one masters the technique correctly it would be effective.

Hi Michelle, do you know if there are is uk version of the femineze? X
What did u do? facing same problem till years pljj tell me what helped u@@hafiyyafathima1721

Magnesium Oxide 500 mg a day
Thank you so much for this video!
@SacTown Aimee you're most welcome! Hope this helps - wishing your mother-in-law all the best for her recovery! 🙏
Who diagnosed the rectocile
Ooh never let anyone put mesh into your body. Never.
Did you mean no sex after menopause or hysterectomy ?
@@Gina19876My surgeon did not, and does not, use mesh. Too high-risk for complications from erosion!
Great information. I have also found out that rocking in a rocking chair is very helpful exercise when you are limited. I find that when you push with your feet to push back and rock it helps with creating a Kegel type of exercise. Thank you for all your help

Literally!!
Me too

@michellephysio I think I have an entroceal. I can no longer go ti the toilet I feel I'm gonadie if I don't get help 😐
Also use an enzyme product like Beano
Finally i know what is ut that's wrong with me. I learnt the technique accidentally and now this lady is telling it makes me feel better. Thanks a million

Hi Corina, isn't it a shame that this topic can seem so embarrassing when for so many women it is their 'normal'. If more women speak openly about this issue then we feel better about ourselves and much better informed. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, much appreciated!

Try black seed oil ( row, unfilter), I hope will get rid of the infection for you.
Guess I’ll wait to see what the Urogynecologist has to say about this…
Again, thank you for your most helpful tips🙂
@@Lisielou Thanks for mentioning the things one can do. How’s your prolapse now? Has there been much improvement after 2 years?

Thank you, thank you! I've been waiting for this. So helpful.
Hi Rhonda I'm really glad this is helpful, that's the goal all the best and thank you so much for commenting 🙏
Just had a surgery and if it stays like this my life could be normal again, after 13 years living with it
A small cystocelle and rectocelle I’m really struggling the only way my bowel will empty is if I’m constipated any other way I’d be sat on the toilet all day.
Anytime I try to do pelvic floor Excersize It gives me bladder infections “really struggling “
Thank you for all this information on Rectocele.
@Evelyn Williams you're most welcome! Hope this helps🙏
Very helpful video, Michelle. Thank you❣️
@bonnie musselman You are so welcome! So glad to know that you find this helpful. All the best🙏
Thank you mostly for your advice about fiber!!! I’ve taken Psyllium Husk, but it doesn’t seem to work! Now I know why!
@lisaflores6477 my pleasure! I do hope this helps you, all the best to you! 🙏
Can't thank you enough for all this
@Roma Noor my pleasure! It's really a privilege to help- thank you for taking the time to comment 💖
@@chancepeace2064 I also bought this tool and it’s stupid. It doesn’t work.

If it is really stuck, which happens to me once in a while, I use the hose of the shower to fill my bowel with water and this helps to empty..
i dont have a shower hose.
I have tried u r pelvic floor exercise videos but not getting results mam.so please make video or suggest a remedy
Excellent video. thank you so much. I learned a lot to help me.

What if the buldge becomes impacted with fecal...I've had to go to Emergency Dept a couple months ago, now its happened again.
Why don't you just get surgery done to get rid of it?
@@janne2744 I don't think most surgeons use the mesh anymore. They just use dissolvable sutures now.
I have a question concerning rectocele: in your professional experience, does rectocele worsen after surgery for superficial fistulotomy which cut about 1cm of fibers (not muscle) in the perineum?

@@laurarezlescu1358 Hi Laura I spoke with a urogynaecologist on this matter yesterday - expertise is in fistula and prolapse repair and the comment is NO, this repair should not impact and not worsen the rectocele. Courtney is studying atm but I will definitely make some more 20min workouts! 💜
Is kegel exercise helpful for serious rectocele and cistocele
I was prescribed Lactulose syrop and take Senakot. Is that ok to take with this issue? I have a suspected bladder/rectal prolapse. Constant UTI symptoms, but never does an infection register, only blood in my urine. I feel like something is being missed.

Does rectocele cause deep leg pain bilaterally, from knee down?
Ty so very very much!!!!!
Over a year ago, i was experiencing a feeling that something wasn't right indide my rectom. I mentioned this to surgeon who does my colonoscopy. He said there was nothing wrong and if i was constipated to take Medimucil

Hi mam,i had this problem after my first delivery, and i want to knw that if i will get pregnant now,any issues will happen

Hi can you advise on whether to have colonics? Thanks

Hi any inprovement in your sister condition?
Do you have any suggestions other than Movacol that produces nothing but gas?
Have you tried dulcolax which is a softener & stimulant? Not gas producing but check with your pharmacist or health care provider first cheers!
hello :) than you sooo much for all of your videos...What i dont understand is, does rectocele can be a reason for constipation?
Yes definitely. I suffer constipation because of it. It causes a pouch which makes poo hard to pass and at the same time the water is absorbed making it even harder. It's not fun at all.
What is your opinion on colonics

@crmier •You’re welcome - I do hope this helps! 🙏
