NBA 2k9 - I'll never forget using the Blazers with BRoy, Aldridge, Andre Miller, Travis Outlaw, Batum, Greg Oden, RUDY Fernandez, Joel Przybilla, Jaryd Bayless and Steve Blake. Before the days of countless players using 5out. Where the only thing you had to worry about was someone pausing the game because they were losing and leaving it there for hours
Bro you just brought back memories of me playing with that team too 😂
That was a tough 2K squad.
@@1515chrisharris That team was really good.
Outlaw was a 2K gem but not too godly. Add in Gerald Wallace and Prissbilla or whatever his name is and that team was definitely fun.
Classic game
Brandon Roys game was literally perfect. Could shoot the 3, pull up J, go right or left, make tough shots with his left hand, had a 40 inch vert so could dunk with the best of them. He would have taken the Blazers far. They were cursed with the injuries to him and Oden. That was a dynasty in the making. Aldridge himself was no slouch. Their role players too were so annoying, 3 and D guys who did all the dirty work. They were a tough matchup every game. Poor Blazers.
@@JY-wv2zmI never thought that... I thought he was stock average... maybe later after his knee injury, but I thought he was pretty average on the defensive end. Saw him D up Joe Johnson real good a few games. He struggled with the Monta Ellis types though.
@@JY-wv2zmwow dude really????
@@erikbouchard6539 I feel like Brandon Roy has been elevated into like Michael Jordan by these revisionists. Like, he wasn't no KD or James Harden. He was a great player I won't take that away, but he's just not THAT great.
@@starkk19 Yea... for sure. He was a top 10 player in the league though... at like 24 years old. I wouldn't say sky was the limit for him or anything, but he was likely a HoF player if he had stayed healthy.
He was also a more modern player than some of the guys of that era. A big guard who excelled in the pick and roll when many other 2 guards were still trying to score primarily in the triple threat and in complete isolation.
@starkk19 harden trash has never played def and had a cheater tactic to get to the line a bunch could shoot some 3s that 1 year or 2 tho
Real Ones know B.Roy gave the best players in the league crazy work consistently. If he and Greg Oden stayed healthy, Portland definitely would have at least a few chips.
That's hilarious. Roy played with the Blazers during the time Duncan, KG and The Heat with Wade and LBJ were winning Rings. So how tf is Portland gonna win one , much less three. Put down the pipe kid, ur hallucinating 🤡🤣
😂😂 he just a fan that’s why he saying
Maybe 1 but a few is delusional
Nah B. Roy was better than Kobe and Oden was unguardable. Portland was the most stacked team in the NBA
@JMB72 they could of won a chip if Roy and Oden were healthy and Wade and Lebron didnt win a chip together when he played for the blazers dumbass he retired in 2011. The Mavs beat the heats that year
The blazers were supposed to be OKC before OKC… injuries didn’t allow us to see how dominant these guys would’ve been. Hustlers with IQ on the court.
Yeah they never reached their full potential due to injuries that was solid roster
Sounds lie they were ready to do their equivalent of the James Harden trade too, smh...
Should of taken durant tho I watched so much cbb that season I told him you taking bowie over jordan again
Greg Oden was a beast in the paint. A true center banging in the paint and post. He was nice with his left and in the paint too.
Very few players went at Kobe Bryant the way, Brandon Roy, and Tracy McGrady when I had because they had just as much scoring talent and had that mentality like you can’t stop me
I just dont understand this English
Paul Pierce Vince Carter D Wade Gil Arenas all the great scorers go at each other
tmac/broy>kobe@@mohammedmidiaf3498
Not true.
This Blazers team is one of the great what ifs. That one season they had them healthy for most of a season they were so good, with Oden playing essentially his rookie season because of injuries and he looked unstoppable at points. Hard to say for sure exactly what would have been if not for injuries, but you have think that team gets at least one. Aldridge speaking the real truth about Oden, definitely not a bust. Nobody who played minutes against him will say he was a bust.
I don't think you understand what a bust means...
thank you for the love for my Nephew nephew
My man, L.A. Played like a great from the 80's. One of my all time Blazers
Definitely had the old man game
Never knew Portland kept trying to trade Lamarcus explains why he wanted out
B Roy one of my favorites growing up man, dude was so tough & UNDERRATED
that team had so much potential
Man the Blazers had a really great opportunity to become a dynasty before GSW. Crazy when you think about the talent they had in that short amount of time due to injuries
Aldridge was a stud in his prime, that turn around jump shot was butter. Never forget him cooking the James Harden Rockets in the playoffs..
I never heard LA talk before lol. That’s crazy
Oden didn't go on a road trip with the blazers, in order to rest his knee. 4 hours after i read that on the news, Oden was 6 ft from my dj booth at the club, Drunk and dancing like he didn't have a care in the world. While he was dancing, the blazers were playing a game.
That told me a lot about his priorities.
Damn
Roy was super nice. I think people forget him.
-Kobe
-Wade
- Roy
- Joe Johnson
- Rip Hamilton
He was definitely top 3 at one point top 5 fashow.
Iverson Tmac Kobe b.Roy wade kobe had better teams that’s all the league tried to push him to the masses he really wasn’t out performing them boys he just had a better team with the refs on his side and the league behind him
@@chrisduncan170that's a lie. You should do research. Check the stats. May the Lord have mercy on your soul.
Brandon Roy was a MONSTER. Super fun to root for. Good dude. Humble. Smart. The whole package.
He made a good point...if Oden would've panned out they would've traded LA and played through Oden and Roy.. so that dominant trio never wouldve turned into anything legendary was only fools gold
nah they had batum and wesley matthews on roster with that team. Not traditionally able to play LA's position but the versatility of those two wings would give the roster a lot more flexibility.
Roy could do everything. His decision making was really good. He shared the ball but when it was time to take over he made it look so easy every single time. The Kobe fans I know hated Roy and gave him no props. I'll def be sharing this video with them. He was on that level.
No he wasn't
Brandon Roy was that guy. Injuries robbie us of an all time great
@@NealBones he avg 22ppg before his injuries, stop over hyping him. Jordan Poole gave you 20 off the bench
Brandon Roy would of been an all time great had he been able to play
You don’t know that
@Wisestomatoe you never watched him play? And no I don't know for sure. It was a comment sorry you felt you had Correct it. Must suck being like that 😘
@@Wisestomatoe it's known by anyone who knows basketball...
@@JP-jd8wr so a couple good years means he would’ve been an all time great ?
@@Wisestomatoelol dude, KOBE himself said he was a problem and had no weaknesses, in the little time he played was an all star and top 3 SG in the league, stop it
Roys weakness was his knees
And oden tbh
This it that's all ! 🙅🏿♂️
B. Roy was my favorite player in the league not on my team, was so sad to see him have such an early exit. That Portland team when healthy was so much fun to watch
Brandon Roy is truly what people talk about when someone says THREE LEVEL SCORER, but what made him special was he was never DOING TOO MUCH. He was always willing to make the right pass while being utterly dominant, he is kind of what SGA is looking like right now, but he was a much better three point shooter. In the modern game where heliocentric offenses happen due to spacing being figured out, he'd be dominant.
Roy LA and Oden were amazing together
I remember the ceremony at Pioneer Courthouse Square when Oden arrived via Max Train. We were all so excited he was here! A couple years later I was at a Blazer game and I remember seeing Greg's injury that would end his Blazer career. It's tough to see young talent succumb to injury. This trio when healthy was really fun to watch. Rip City!
That blazer team was the best teams to play with
Game 4 against Dallas in the playoffs. Top 3 most memorable sports moments of my life.
Brandon Roy actually had TWO weaknesses, his left knee and his right knee
Two weak-knee-ses 😂
52 and TWELVE, man? Ugh. They were lethal. The potential. Obviously it's a small (but not so small) sample size, but imagine that over 3, 5 years? Damn. So disappointing how both of their careers played out.
B. Roy Was Cold As The Snow… 💯
I didn’t realise LA spoke like such a gangsta lol
Some nba guys are "average " in size ,I was in Dallas all star game 2010 and walked by BRoy at a mall and was SHOCKED at how big he was ( I'm over 6') and I remember getting back home and telling My cousin who was a 2 you need some milk !!
I watched them play @Staples center- Miller, B.Roy, Batum, Aldridge in 2010 last game in regular season. Such a great team
Drop the damn episode already
Aldridge durant an pj tucker could have won a ring at texas but they left early
Aldridge turnaround over each shoulder was cash on 2k11. My homies use to stay mad talkin bout "this 🥷🏾 aint Dirk" 😂😂
Even 2k13 that man was a mid range god on there
They were the youngest team ever to hit 54 wins, with Oden only being present for half of that.
I don't know how good they could've gotten but they did have traits that NBA championship squads tended to have - defense (perimeter and interior), offense at three levels, versatility, good bench, multiple perennial All-Stars/superstar talent.
Really a damn shame we didn't get to see them hit their primes together.
Yo!!! Lamarcus cusses?😂😂lol
Greg Oden was a different type of animal. His dominance was unbelievable.
Wade, B Roy, TMac the only 2guards that step on the court feeling like their just as good as Kobe
Love to hear real basketball heads give Greg Oden some love. I don't think you can be a bust if you never got your chance due to injuries. Man he played left handed his entire year at Ohio state because his right wrist was broken and still dominated and shot 72 percent from free throw left handed. Monster.
Sadly considering he would have been a bust. Just another low IQ athlete trying to learn basketball and benefitted from an era with no centers. Craziest thing is how he was so athletic and could run up the court twice without tripping over his own feet.
...that's thee literally the meaning of bust.
Nah. To me a bust is someone who never made it cuz their talent was fake, or their work ethic was dogshit, or they got messed up by off-court issues. Injuries don’t make you a bust in my opinion. You can’t help if your body betrays you
@TG-ld8hl there's no such thing as "what the word means to me" the meaning of the word is what it is.
In the context of professional sports, a "bust" is a term used to describe a player who fails to live up to expectations, often due to poor performance or injury.
@@MrKeysjimmy you’re right. Language is in no way up for interpretation
My top three what ifs penny, len bias and Brandon Roy!
Brandon Roy will always & forever be my favorite Trailblazer. “The Natural” #7
I loved watching Roy. Whatever it was, he had it. He was destined for greatness
Imagine a team of what if I got mine D Rose, B Roy ,G Hill , T Mac , Yao Ming Imagine they never get hurt
Stephen Jackson : I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone go at Kobe like that, Gilbert arenas and Allen iverson: hold my beer
The Blazers had almost as much What if's as the late 90's/early 2000's Magic.
Brandon was a beast man, dam injuries
Every time I think about Brandon Roy I think about Michael Redd for the Bucks.
Ill never forget this man la had 56 or 60 piece with legit all middys i dont remember a dunk or layup or 3 just pick and poped the okc to death 😂😂😂😂😂 that was wild lol
LA stated the same thing I’ve been trying to tell these fools out here for years. Greg Oden was not a bust. He was just dealt a bad hand and it robbed his opportunity. Dude had potential to become one of the all-time greatest big men this league would have ever seen. Losing his career the way he did still pains me to this day -_-
LA was a beast at Texas.
I will forever believe that Brandon Roy could have been the best player on a championship team if he had remained healthy.
Love B Roy! Definitely would’ve been one of the all time greats and more than likely HOF!
Such a clean jump shot. B Roy is on a podcast with MPJ
Great question🔥
Brandons knees let him down he was awesome!
Oden could have been great for sure sad situation he was passionate as hell!
52-12 sheesh LA was baby Tim no cap master in the mid post
That team, if healthy, would have challenged. I don't know if they win a championship, but a team featuring healthy Roy, Oden, and Aldridge would have been formidable. They would have been a problem for the Spurs for sure, as well the Lakers. As for the Warriors, that could have been some wild matchups. The Western conference changes conpletely for the 2010s, that's for sure.
Kids these days only know Dame from Portland ..B
Roy was special man ........
Portland was on my ass on 2k13 💀
⏸️
That 06 heat team and 08 Celtics on 2k fasho win you money if you know how to pace it
Lamarcus mid ranges NEVER missed in that game dawg
Feel like Aldridge is also a what-if had he stayed in Portland during Dame’s ascendance. Hearing him talk about B-Roy and Oden here, it’s obvious he’s still feels some type of way about not being “the guy” even though there’s a lot of evidence he was never really comfortable in that alpha role.
52-12 When all three are healthy Oden-Roy-LA. That's crazy
Brandon Roy would have been the 3rd or 4th best SG ever if it wasn’t for the injuries. Right where people like to put James Fartden quitting and choking a$$. Roy was the total opposite in every sense, loved watching him play
Greg Oden was talented but injuries robbed him of reaching his potential. B.Roy was the same way.
B Roy reminds me of D Book and Antman reminds me of Penny hardway
Fark no. D Book can't slash or dunk. D book traaaaaash athletically
That's funny how people like to exaggerate the truth. Roy avg vs Kobe was 15 .
Kobe avg vs Roy 29.
They played a total of 13 times against each other.
Hoop fans love to do this when it comes to injured players. Penny was Magic, Grant Hill was MJ, Lonzo was JKidd, DRose was Jesus Christ. Its just a coping mechanism, when you come with facts they just get emotional
What did Kobe Ava era get in the playoffs how did he play so many years shoot so many shots and not break the scoring title only a couple mvps meaning he really wasn’t all you thought he was but his teams were great
You do realize Kobe had been in the league a decade before roy😂 so you’re looking at the beginning of Roy’s career vs the prime of Kobe’s. During his prime before the injuries he went 27,24,32 in 3 straight games against Kobe. Check your facts before spouting off.
oden woulda been one of the best centers ever fast as shit and athletic asf like a hybrid of shaq and dwight
Imagine a Przybilla, LA, KD, Roy, Miller starting five and Roy never got injured cause he got LA and KD.
BRoy was that guy OMG
It sucks that injuries robbed Brandon Roy from becoming a superstar 😢
Y’all were the first OKC to me if everyone was super healthy and BRoY didn’t have the bad knees
There wouldn't have been Dame Lilliard run without the collapse of Oden/Broy
Roy had clutch gene, fundamentals at 100 and explosiveness…he was more fundamental than Kobe…he didnt need to extra skilled or fancy like kobe!or Kyrie…he was fundamental like MJ.
To think dat it coulda been KD, LA, n B.Roy all coulda played together is insane 🤣
so they would have done a okc a ruin their run for a championship team by trading a core player. Teams be messing up their own teams. keep your young players together over the long haul. logic
B ROY was kawhi before kawhi
Brandon Roy in the last five minutes? He took it and cooked it! Efficient, made the right play, midrange master. DeRozan, but better passer.
My top favorite players all time:
1. CP3.
2. GIANNIS
3. TMAC
4. BROY
5. DUNCAN
Gotta love the way lemarcus speaks 😂😂 talk to shit big dawg!
Yo LA sound just like my nigga Dutch when they speak 🤣🤣🤣
B. Roy was a problem
Brandon Roy was a problem
Stephen Jackson “ I don’t think anyone went at Kobe like B Roy “
Carmelo ?
Gilbert arenas ?
Jackson just be chatting
Trade block shit is cap af. I followed blazers like crazy back then, they drafted oden because we had lemarcus and broy
if your number 1 prospect and you got injured your a bust, injury is part of the game now
Roy was very good, but let's not go to far. He was more borderline All NBA good than MVP good
Lamarcus was never on the trading block, WTF?
Greg oden looks like embiid
all these SFs that had their career cut short is the reason lebron basic ass gets praised the way he does
Lol basic ass triple double putting up best career averages then Kobe and all he could do is run you over right lol iq on low
Glad someone said it because people on the internet will tell you he was trash.
Why he talk with his hand on his mouth ?
I’m sorry but Greg oden was regular to me. He would’ve been a regular center. I don’t see what yall see. He was just bigger than everybody else in college and it’s not like his numbers were crazy. He would probably average 14 and 10 and that’s it
28 and 10
BRoy used to kill the Lakers. Kobe gave him his flowers
My dumb ass Bulls should’ve kept him
“Had no weaknesses”… dudes career was destroyed by injuries wtf y’all talking about
Shit if they would of drafted KD they would’ve won chips
Why does no one could ever say that Lebron has no weakness in his game? 🤣
Greg oden was embid before embid was that jus wouldnt been able to express all his skills as joel would of cuz back then big men still had to b big man stay in paint
I went to OSU during Oden's college year so naturally I was obsessed with his game, he was a beast on the block but he had no ball handling skills or shooting range that make Embiid so unique. It wasn't just system or expected style of play, he legitimately lacked those skills. Special on the block though, no doubt. A throwback traditional center.
Wow realized how sour he was even at this time
