Yeah I'm a hard hearted old goth & so many of their songs just get to me like nothing else. I don't know what it is. The brilliant writing from Tuomas combo with exquisite vocals backed up with top notch musos at the top of their game. I think you'll love The Islander at Tampere. I don't cry when I'm in physical pain, but I've cried over and over again listening to Dead Boy's Poem, Poet and the Pendulum, and many others. Nightwish is a powerful force that touches the heart in a profound way. I can never thank Tuomas enough for such a great gift, and all of Nightwish is incredible for conveying those emotions so well. Floor has done wonders for keeping that emotion alive in the vocals.

Nightwish's music has the rare quality of entering your soul and helping you heal your inner wounds. I know this from my own experience, and I know that many of us have gone through similar situations. Many times I had tears in my eyes listening to them. The good news here: you are emotionally open to them, and listening to them you have a great chance to regain your inner balance in time. Hey there - I am 62, and not a soft one - but I am proud to say that Nightwish and especially Floor, can make cry. They make me feel music in way that very few other bands have ever been able to - so please do like me - accept the visit from the onion ninjas and be proud to show your emotions, it's healthy and just shows how careful you listen to the music. And they don't even have to use cellos! - a piano and Floor's voice techniques will bring you down. Floor actually did this 3 times in the TV-show Beste Zangers - the whole studio cried their hearts out - that's world class to have such a power - and that is Floor. I promise you that you have not seen and felt 50% of her yet - she will also make you scream of joy and happiness - and dance like a teenager. This is Nightwish - the band that plays your soul like a delicate harpe. Great reaction from you - again 👍 🤘 🤘 - and just admit it - you are addicted - like the rest of the Army 😉
To me this is one of floors most powerful and moving performances, she puts basically everything she can into this and you have to be dead to not be affected by it.

Nightwish with Floor has a mysterious effect on people, especially those who are free to FEEL. I thought for a long time if it is all right to ask you for a comment on "the poet and the pendulum". It tells the story of the composer, keyboardplayer. He came in a deep depression when the first female lead singer had to leave the band and he made this masterpiece to get over it. This symphony is one of kind and Floor gives some thing special to it. Phenomenal, this band and their symfonies. Stay healthy and have a prosperous future.

Her capacity for empathy and ability to channel it when singing someone else’s heart and soul is matched by few others in the world of modern music. This also speaks volumes about Tuomas’s lyrical and musical composition; without that the performance would be dead before it began.

The first time I every heard Nightwish -- the song was Ghost Love Score -- I had this same reaction. I had never had that kind of emotional reaction to ANY music I've ever heard. I didn't understand it then, and I really don't understand it now...I just "go with it". Nightwish music allows you to explore yourself whether you realize you're doing it or not. Don't worry about crying to this song! I am 63 years old, an old ex-football player, 6'6" & 350lbs...and this song just makes me cry every time I hear it! Floor just has a way of reaching down inside you, and turning your emotions up to where you can't help but cry!

Fun fact: Nightwish and Floor have proven to be a much better antidepressant and anxiety relief than any pill or therapy I had on the last four years since my mental health started to deteriorate
Bless you, we're all in it together. I may sometimes have a stiff upper lip, but there are times, especially in the early morning I wake well up before my wife and I choose to listen to Nightwish... Paper tissues will be needed to keep my pillow dry as I lay down with my in-ears in the dark. And there may be an occasional stifled sob, if the going gets good as it always does with this song.

Take your time and go through the NW catalog a ways before you get to the Masterpiece: "The Poet and the Pendulum", live at Wembley. Best to do the backstory research beforehand as it is autobiographical and essential to knowing what's going on in the video. Also choose the version with onscreen lyrics, it is needed in certain sections. Extra box of tissues suggested. After that, "The Greatest Show on Earth" live at Tampere. One suggestion, never shut off a NW video until the screen goes completely black, often miss something, even a sweet 'Thank You' from Floor. You're doing a great job, Enjoy!

I must have seen this performance a hundred times at this point, and it is by far my favorite nightwish song. It is such an emotional powerhouse, brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it. The heartfelt lyrics, the haunting melody, the insane vocal performance by Floor... it’s perfect in every way.
You are not the first nor will you be the last to break down with this song. It's meaning is very deep and it is easy to get emotional. I had a similar reaction the first time I saw this.
Music is so transformative. It takes us places we sometimes don't know we are going. The delight on your face and your emotional reaction said it all. Dead Boy's Poem affects us all and reduces most of us to tears.

This is exactly how I cry everytime I hear this song. So much pain...and the musical and lyrics...socals are so beautiful. All their songs will trigger deep emotions. Happy emotions, sad emoitions. They sing about life, the personal dillema's they battled with, to birth of the universum (with dr. Dawkinis) to Celtic folky cheafull music (I want my tears back, same concert)
When good music hits your soul and you can't contol your emotions... ;)

The first time I every heard Nightwish -- the song was Ghost Love Score -- I had this same reaction. I had never had that kind of emotional reaction to ANY music I've ever heard. I didn't understand it then, and I really don't understand it now...I just "go with it". Nightwish music allows you to explore yourself whether you realize you're doing it or not. Just let it take you away to wherever it is that you need to go, Princess. We're all here for you. Wonderfully emotional reaction, Princess....Thank you.....💖

You should check out a song in this same venue, I want my tears back now, the crowd sings a song to the band before they play and then Floor does the jig, dancing all around the stage. Its wonderful to see the entire band react to her, and how much fun this band has playing there music.

Please don't say sorry. You feel what you feel and it's not making you more or less masculine. Nightwish is making us all feel a lot. I'm in for only 1,5 year and I'm hooked. Learned NW through Floor Jansen and Beste Zangers (Dutch TV programm that you have to find out because it shows how versatile Floor is) and listen it every day.
Don't worry about crying to this song! I am 63 years old, an old ex-football player, 6'6" & 350lbs...and this song just makes me cry every time I hear it! Floor just has a way of reaching down inside you, and turning your emotions up to where you can't help but cry!
Nightwish aren't only music, there's a path that goes souls, who feels something untold. It's from above and from the deep in one time.

Ah this song always makes me (and many many others) so emotional all the time, so heartfelt the way Floor sings it, and the boy in the background, his words as well, expressing Tuomas emotions (he's keyboard player/songwriter/lider) give me goosebumps and make me cry every single time I hear it, so let it flow, the energy, the emotion, the tears.
Fun fact: Nightwish and Floor have proven to be a much better antidepressant and anxiety relief than any pill or therapy I had on the last four years since my mental health started to deteriorate

Bless you, we're all in it together. I may sometimes have a stiff upper lip, but there are times, especially in the early morning I wake well up before my wife and I choose to listen to Nightwish... Paper tissues will be needed to keep my pillow dry as I lay down with my in-ears in the dark. And there may be an occasional stifled sob, if the going gets good as it always does with this song.

Emppu on that guitar is just killer. I could listen for an hour just listening and watching him play. Actually the same for each of the band members.

Take your time and go through the NW catalog a ways before you get to the Masterpiece: "The Poet and the Pendulum", live at Wembley. Best to do the backstory research beforehand as it is autobiographical and essential to knowing what's going on in the video. Also choose the version with onscreen lyrics, it is needed in certain sections. Extra box of tissues suggested. After that, "The Greatest Show on Earth" live at Tampere. One suggestion, never shut off a NW video until the screen goes completely black, often miss something, even a sweet 'Thank You' from Floor. You're doing a great job, Enjoy!

You needed this song, never say sorry for tears we feel you and we all chet some tears. Listening to Nightwish- Floor will give you a range of emotions and personaly I love it when music gives me all those emotions even a good cry.....
I must have seen this performance a hundred times at this point, and it is by far my favorite nightwish song. It is such an emotional powerhouse, brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it. The heartfelt lyrics, the haunting melody, the insane vocal performance by Floor... it’s perfect in every way.
You are not the first nor will you be the last to break down with this song. It's meaning is very deep and it is easy to get emotional. I had a similar reaction the first time I saw this.
