Probably the reason this band is so awesome, each of them are "highly sensitive", with all the relatable problems that brings, they put a lot of emotion in, we receive it back, out of the incredible music.
One of my top 5 Nightwish songs. Sue Sue nailed it. This, along with Poet and the Pendulum, are the two most personal songs Tuomas has written. Dead Boys poem is kind of his eulogy, how he wants to be remembered if he were to die today. Tuomas often sees himself as an innocent boy, a poet. The lyrics reflect a boy's feelings of not being heard and so he tries to express himself through his music and is frustrated that he still isn't understood. For Tuomas, Nightwish and the music they create is everything and I think that comes through in this song. Tuomas also often uses the image of the ocean as a place of serenity, refuge and safety, thus his Ocean Soul. Very emotional song and another that makes me tear up every time.
Nightwish is emotions, feelings, magic, mesmerising. An the compositions from Tuomas, unmatched. And then there is Floor. And Marko, and Empuu and Kai and Troy. Every single time, over and over again. Just think about it, what we're feeling. Watching an video!!! Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 🤘🫡
A very personal song for Tuomas. How he would want to be remembered if he were to die today. Any time you hear Poet, Boy, Ocean in his lyrics, its about him, i.e. "A lonely soul, An ocean soul" at the end of the song.

Well done Sue Sue. It is about Tuomas but that's what's so great about his writing in both lyrical and the construct of sounds working into this poetry this story telling and sharing of his emotions.
The whole Decade tour in 2018 was about to go back to Nightwish cataloge and do the old songs, songs Floor had not sang before, and songs that will never been seing live again. In 2015 -2016 they did EFMB tour, 2017 they took a brake. After this tour in 2019 they did go to the studio making Human Nature that was released 2020. So thanks to Nightwish management team who suggested this tour in 2018 othetwise we wouldn"t have seen them live since 2016. All those songs was from Tarjas and Anettes era. Creek Marys Blood with Tarja I think is a song you would love and also The Siren, both from End Of An Era concert 2005.
This is an older song from the Tarja era. Floor made it her own on this tour, doing it very differently from the original. I love Floor in this one. Love the build. It is probably my favorite solo from Emppu, as well. Leaves me wanting more. This was Tuomas’ response to the question of, if you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you have to say today? As you already know, he often writes from his persona as a boy. Like Poet and the Pendulum, it’s a very personal song for Tuomas. If you want a song with a similar feel, Floor does a cover of M83’s Oblivion from her home studio during the pandemic. Keep exploring Nightwish!
This song is definitely one of my favorites.. emotionally it touches deep layers…and the band executing this on such a high level…and Floor killing it at the end…unmatched…
Once again you felt exactly what this song is about. It was written long before this concert and I think of it as one of Tuomas' most personal ones. Wolfman mentioned the lyrics which hopefully I can paste below: I live no more to shame, nor me, nor you I'm sorry Born from silence, silence full of it A perfect concert, my best friend So much to live for, so much to die for If only my heart had a home Sing what you can't say Forget what you can't play Hasten to drown into beautiful eyes Walk within my poetry, this dying music My love letter to nobody Never sigh for better world It's already composed, played and told Every thought, the music I write Everything, a wish for the night Wrote for the eclipse, wrote for the virgin Died for the beauty, the one in the garden Created a kingdom, reached for the wisdom Failed in becoming a god Never sigh for better world It's already composed, played and told Every thought, the music I write Everything, a wish for the night If you read this line Remember not the hand that wrote it Remember only the verse Songmaker's cry, the one without tears For I've given this its strength And it has become my only strength Comforting home, mother's lap, chance for immortality Where being wanted became a thrill I never knew The sweet piano writing down my life Teach me passion, for I fear it's gone Show me love, hold the lorn So much more I wanted to give to the ones who love me I'm sorry Time will tell, this bitter farewell I live no more to shame, nor me, nor you And you I wish I didn't feel for you anymore A lonely soul An ocean soul A lonely soul An ocean soul So much more I wanted to give to the ones who love me Time will tell A lonely soul An ocean soul A lonely soul An ocean soul
Like most Nightwish songs, you aren't 'hit' by it on first listening. This song gets me every time. It's the most beautifully crafted of songs. A relatively new reaction channel couple did Dead Boy's Poem the other day - the lady is not normally an emotional woman but THIS one broke her - she was in tears! Love your reactions, keep em coming 😃
First! You are correct. Tuomas has said this is the most personal song he's written. Love you guys. Absolutely adore this song and this performance. Have a great weekend.
The song is based on a hypothetical situation. This is a very emotional and personal song for Tuomas. The small child's voice represents Tuomas speaking. When asked what this song was about "Tuomas has said about this song, that it's about if he were to die tomorrow, what would he want to say to everyone that he loves, and that love him..." Notice the small boy on the screen reaching out to the flying swans on the screen. The swan is the guide to the afterlife in Finnish mythology. He is reaching out to implore them to take him with to the other side. A beautiful song filled with sadness from an unfulfilled destiny. Here are the spoken words from Dead Boy's Poem. If you read this line Remember not the hand that wrote it Remember only the verse Songmaker's cry, the one without tears For I've given this its strength And it has become my only strength Comforting home, mother's lap, chance for immortality Where being wanted became a thrill I never knew The sweet piano writing down my life Teach me passion, for I fear it's gone Show me love, hold the lorn So much more I wanted to give to the ones who love me I'm sorry Time will tell, this bitter farewell I live no more to shame, nor me, nor you And you I wish I didn't feel for you anymore A lonely soul An ocean soul
Suesue and the Wolfman...EVERY and I mean EVERY time I hear this MASTERPIECE the tears start rolling down my cheeks. I can't control it, it just happens. And I don't mind it happening. I think it is a blessing that music can touch your heart as well as your ears...!!! Greetings from the Netherlands...
Very nice reaction, and seeing you back again.❤ Floor of course my lady, BUT! Another great band and female singer, al from the Netherlands is Sharon den Adel with her band Within Temptation. Also a symphonic metal band. Also a great stage leading, good looking lady. Maybe a couple of their songs just to get an idea? A great starting is the live song Mother Earth with the Metropole Orchestra. Hello from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
A totally underrated song bc it's not fast or heavy. It's got several time changes and it's serious. But wow does it pack a punch when you digest those lyrics. Seeing Emppu's face really, silently, says everything. It's Tuomas' self-eulogy in song. And again, it's relatable!
@@SueSueandthewolfman It's 7pm...7 cats...113 degrees plus humidity and my ac isn't cooling! I'm in full freak out, but charmed some help b4 bedtime. Heat not good for me, and I don't have a long fur coat! Babies are doing fine tho...they get collars tmrw...big day! Pray for my ac!!
🤗🍒👍🏻😘 Sue and Wolfman you should also to listen "slow love slow" ! It can be viewed and listened to from; Nightwish or by the Marcel Fischer band !! Of course with Floor !!
Another heartfelt reaction guys well done! - I told Buster that you must react to the entire Buenos Aires concert because for this the “Decades” world tour. Tuomas went through all of his songs and picked those that best represented the collective and back catalogue of the band. Plenty of gems in this concert and Buster told me you must do them all😉
Well we're screwed now! lol - We some Buenos Aires Reactions in our playlist on our homepage, but I'm not sure what year-- what year are you talking about?
This song (also) became a masterpiece, when Floor interpreted it to her version. It's often considered to be on the same level as Ghost love Score... Super reaction from you 👍
This in one of my favourite Nightwish too; I wish they played it on their regular set list. Really enjoying your reactions: you are so good together - a real pair of naturals, so keep it up. And yes, Floor is everything.
The tour this came from was a gift to the fans as selecting tunes through the history of the band presented by the then current incarnation. It is worth it to check out the originals with Tarja, Anette and Floor then seeing how it plays in the concert setting. Good reaction by good people.
I'm not sure exactly what you are saying as far as reactions - are you talking back to back comparisons or just start reacting to earlier things? Let me know! Suesue
@@SueSueandthewolfman Just do them as you want, I thought you might find it interesting to see the band history and check out the talents of all band members.
Great reaction to an totally amazing song. Definitely one of my favorite all time songs, especially this version. I can’t find words to describe how good this is. And empuu’s solo is probably the most beautiful solo I’ve ever heard. It’s not long, but damn!!!!!!! Just like Floor does with her singing, he channels the emotions through his guitar 🎸
Great one! I always thought this outfit made Floor look like a goth Wonder Woman. If you want something a little less emotionally taxing, try Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from this same Buenos Aires show. Also, one of my favorite parts of your videos is seeing what awkward ad starts playing after the song ends…some of them are hilarious 😀
Yes there are many great songs on ghis Buenos Aires concert but my second go-to after this one is Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean. Great recommendation! For vocal amazement, Slaying the Dreamer from this one, too.
You guys pretty much nailed it, as you invariably do - it's such a pleasure to be part of your community, you're such a lovely couple and it's great that you're part of the Nightwish Army 🤘
Do the song "Nightwish - Sahara (Live At Tampa) [HD]" from Tampa show, Florida, USA, 2016 - it is a great middle East/Arabian vibe song with Floor singing really great, in my mind even greater than usually. And the video is great HD quality (not filmed by Mobile Phone, but real camera crew with the same Director than most of their Live shows).
Thank you for reacting to this sad but beautiful song. This was a good start for the day. It is the Helsinki Day tomorrow, June 12th. Helsinki was founded in 1550. Because it's on Sunday this year, and I guess because of Covid cancelling the festivities for a couple of years, they have extended the celebrations for the whole weekend, so they will start today, on Saturday already. The city is full of happenings. I haven't visited the zoo in a long time, so I think I might go, it's free of charge today and tomorrow, sponsored by a shopping centre I think. Tomorrow morning the city of Helsinki, the mayor, offers coffee and pie for free at the city hall. That is a long tradition, for me too. The funniest and most surprising thing is the Helsinki Samba Carnival! The northern most in the world I believe. This year it's part of the Helsinki Day celebrations today. At least this time the weather seems warm and dry, hope it stays that way. Lots of people, mostly women, all ages, shapes and sizes in beautiful costumes dancing along the streets of downtown Helsinki accompanied by a samba band on a truck. Tens of thousands of people watching them go. I think we really need something like this after the cold, dark winter. You can find videos on YT if you want to take a peek. There is also a loooong, a few hundreds of yards?, table in the middle of the street Northern Esplanade, where people can go and eat whatever food and drinks they bring with them. You have to reserve a seat beforehand, and they all go in minutes. Have a good day!
If you want to see Tuomas being emotional - though it is heart wrenching - watch the End of an Era video of "Ever Dream". This was the last concert before the letter of dismissal was given to Tarja. If you're empathic, you can sense the tension in all the guys during that whole concert.
Nightwish always tells you a story. Personally, this is very emotional for me. Recently I lost my Dear Son 😪 way too YOUNG 💙🦋💙 And the Pain.... I feel it every DAY 💫 with my broken Heart 💔😪 And that HURTS ✨ Every time I see that little Boy ✨💙 in this video, I think of my CHILD🕯️ This is a sensitive song. I am at Sweden rock festival and have been here since Wednesday and going home sunday. So havent had the time to see your reactions these days. Nightwish played on thursday and it was fenomenal 😍 waiting for Within temptation and Guns & Roses this last evening
@@SueSueandthewolfman Axl where here but he was so bad at the vocals so really did not enjoy it. Within temptation was awesome live and you should check them out. A band that is not far from Nightwish
Well I warned you about tissues with this one. So much I vould say about this. My ex-wife came very late to Nightwish after I sent her this performance. Whenever Tuomas mentions Poet you can be pretty sure there's domething sutobiographical or personal going on. Floor: her lovely lower register going right up to the top, so we get most of her range. Her ability to convey emotion is fully displayed here, including thd cry sounds; her control of vibrato is immense. The visual setting with the dry ice back-lit hair blown by the fan, the red background with her black leather corsetry (a one-off by Royal Black Couture in Austria who will never make another), all adds to it. This is ghe only one I know in which Emppu doesn't smile. Even in The Poet and the Pendulum you'll see him smile. Not here. Then there's Marco on The Beast. He is a good guitarist who started on lead before changing to bass. Like Emppu he has fantastic tone. This is a top level song that bears repeated listening. I watch this performance more often than GLS.
Iconic image at 2:44 ... light years beyond vocalism. And as to that little bit of weird in your heart SueSue, (13:20) here's someone who just the other day said she had no words for it. Then she proceeded to outline the "I don't know what it is" in splendid fashion: ruclips.net/video/N4RU7drqtHs/видео.html Cheers from Amsterdam!
Emppu staying sad. The boys words, ouch. Marko and Troy jamming away! "Ocean soul". Tuomas, lost childhood, no way back, difficult to be an adult when you are "highly sensitive", so few people understand what you are going through. That's why it seems so overwhelming with emotions, it's his soul being laid bare. PS The "gating" is a bit severe still. :)
I see someone else has already suggested diving into a few other songs from this concert - I'd like to suggest another double reaction, one album version and one from this show: The Carpenter. It was the only single from Nightwish's debut album Angels Fall First. One interesting bit of trivia for you - when Nightwish recorded Angels Fall First, they didn't have a bassist, so Emppu laid the bass tracks as well as guitars. Vocals from the Buenos Aires show, Floor and Troy. Vocals on the album version, Tarja and... Tuomas! Decades tour Buenos Aires: ruclips.net/video/Di197sOG21c/видео.html the music video: ruclips.net/video/Z4A5HwMOfW8/видео.html
@@SueSueandthewolfman Yes, Tuomas sang on the songs The Carpenter, Astral Romance, and Beauty And The Beast on the album Angels Fall First. He'll be the first to admit that he's not really a singer, but they didn't have anyone else who could, so he stepped up and did his best. I think he actually sounds pretty good on The Carpenter - he's got what I call a karaoke voice, no vocal training whatsoever, but he can carry a tune as long as it's within his range, which The Carpenter is. (Beauty And The Beast, maybe not so much. But he tried.) He brought in guest vocalists to handle male vocals on the albums Oceanborn and Wishmaster, with those being on the back tracks (or occasionally guest vocalists onstage) during concerts Then of course, Marko replaced Sami Vänskä on bass and took over male vocals starting with Century Child up through Human :||: Nature. And now Troy and Floor between them have taken over the bulk of Marko's vocal duties since he left.
I thought there was a version with subtitles but i couldnt find it. There are lyric videos but not hie version you watched but if you just want the words then you should be ok. Thanks for the reaction, I enjoy seeing you enjoy the songs as I did and still do.
I've been watching your NW Videos since the beginning, two things are missing, one is you must do Tarja and Annette while in the band. All three are wonderful and give their all to the band. Yes there is history between the band and members, and the vocal style is also different, but man the music hits your soul. And two, you must see them live (I've seen them live 3 times now, (still waiting for the Wembley show in November to happen from COVID), when you hear Floor live your heart skips a beat. We are also waiting to see Tarja in February (again cancelled due to COVID). Apart from that you guys are rocking it.🤘
Hey, you should definitely check out Devil and the deep dark ocean and slaying the dreamer and elan beunos,Aires live 2019 Nightwish, awesome thanks requesting ❤️🔥😎
I'm noticing Buenos Aires performances have been a bit overlooked by reactors recently (with this song and I want My tears back as exceptions). After covering Human Nature album, you should consider react to BA concert, or take more performances from this concert as future reactions. This concert is special because is mostly based on songs from their oldest albums, so discover the old gems after reaching for the new ones.
also, plz check our playlist on our homepage and you will be able to see we have done a number of Buenos Aires songs but I would love to do more!! -Suesue
@@SueSueandthewolfman Buenos Aires 2018 (or Decades), it's one of the Big 4 concerts with Floor, the other 3 are Wacken 2013, Wembley 2015, Tampere 2015. BA 2018 performances are usually the last of the Big 4 suggested by Nightwish army to react because of the chronological order, and you already reacted to I want My tears back and now Dead Boy's Poems whom I noticed are the most popular choices to react, but believe, there's a lot of great songs from this gig. I suggest you to react to Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, where you gonna appreciate Floor/Marko duo going extremely theatrical.
Have you ever see Emppu so serious during a solo? This whole song tares at the heart.
I believe Emppu knows exactly what this song is about.
It looked like he had a tear in his eye at one point.
I got all teary eyed when I saw that somber expression on his face, very different from the funny, mischievous Emppu we are used to see on stage

I live no more to shame, nor me, nor you
I'm sorry
Born from silence, silence full of it
A perfect concert, my best friend
So much to live for, so much to die for
If only my heart had a home
Sing what you can't say
Forget what you can't play
Hasten to drown into beautiful eyes
Walk within my poetry, this dying music
My love letter to nobody
Never sigh for better world
It's already composed, played and told
Every thought, the music I write
Everything, a wish for the night
Wrote for the eclipse, wrote for the virgin
Died for the beauty, the one in the garden
Created a kingdom, reached for the wisdom
Failed in becoming a god
Never sigh for better world
It's already composed, played and told
Every thought, the music I write
Everything, a wish for the night
If you read this line
Remember not the hand that wrote it
Remember only the verse
Songmaker's cry, the one without tears
For I've given this its strength
And it has become my only strength
Comforting home, mother's lap, chance for immortality
Where being wanted became a thrill I never knew
The sweet piano writing down my life
Teach me passion, for I fear it's gone
Show me love, hold the lorn
So much more I wanted to give to the ones who love me
I'm sorry
Time will tell, this bitter farewell
I live no more to shame, nor me, nor you
And you
I wish I didn't feel for you anymore
A lonely soul
An ocean soul
A lonely soul
An ocean soul
So much more I wanted to give to the ones who love me
Time will tell
A lonely soul
An ocean soul
A lonely soul
An ocean soul

Notice the small boy on the screen reaching out to the flying swans on the screen. The swan is the guide to the afterlife in Finnish mythology. He is reaching out to implore them to take him with to the other side. A beautiful song filled with sadness from an unfulfilled destiny.
Here are the spoken words from Dead Boy's Poem.
If you read this line
Remember not the hand that wrote it
Remember only the verse
Songmaker's cry, the one without tears
For I've given this its strength
And it has become my only strength
Comforting home, mother's lap, chance for immortality
Where being wanted became a thrill I never knew
The sweet piano writing down my life
Teach me passion, for I fear it's gone
Show me love, hold the lorn
So much more I wanted to give to the ones who love me
I'm sorry
Time will tell, this bitter farewell
I live no more to shame, nor me, nor you
And you
I wish I didn't feel for you anymore
A lonely soul
An ocean soul
so beautiful and wistful at the same time - Suesue

Suesue and the Wolfman...EVERY and I mean EVERY time I hear this MASTERPIECE the tears start rolling down my cheeks. I can't control it, it just happens. And I don't mind it happening. bless you Mario!
Very nice reaction, and seeing you back again.❤
Floor of course my lady, BUT!
Another great band and female singer, al from the Netherlands is Sharon den Adel with her band Within Temptation.
Also a symphonic metal band.
Also a great stage leading, good looking lady. Maybe a couple of their songs just to get an idea?
A great starting is the live song
Mother Earth with the
Metropole Orchestra.
Yes, Empuu’s face wrecked me ! How are Boo-boo and all his friends ?

@@SueSueandthewolfman the same concert as dead boys poem - 2018
This song (also) became a masterpiece, when Floor interpreted it to her version. It's often considered to be on the same level as Ghost love Score...
Super reaction from you 👍
This in one of my favourite Nightwish too; I wish they played it on their regular set list.
Really enjoying your reactions: you are so good together - a real pair of naturals, so keep it up.
And yes, Floor is everything.
thank you so much! Be blessed! -Suesue
Such a beautiful song! ❤️
@@MrFrikkenfrakken I do for sure - I just wasn’t sure what you were talking about. You give the best suggestions!
The image on the background screen refers to the belief in Finnish mythology that a dead sole is taken away by a swan
Its just sheer perfection.
One of my favourites, it’s so beautiful..thnx for reacting and feeling these songs
Hi Guys Floor looks Regal just standing there with her arms spread out. I really like this song. It's 12 05 am here
Agree with Emppu's solo. Never seen him unhappy with a solo or even any song
Love this song, thanks, greetings from Colombia
NW can bring such power ballads! Great reaction guys!
Best wishes from Namibia
Love this song ❤
Doing that this week ! Already recorded it !
We got you Zozo - coming this week!
You guys pretty much nailed it, as you invariably do - it's such a pleasure to be part of your community, you're such a lovely couple and it's great that you're part of the Nightwish Army 🤘
Hope you're well Jim! We love getting your comments!
@@SueSueandthewolfman thankyou! 😁
Buster wants to hear Floor's mentor singing Valley of the Queens. ;)
We released it today ! 👍🏼💕 -Suesue
It usually rains on Helsinki day, don't know why, but hopefully not this year.
Thank you so much for sharing that - it sounds wonderful! I'm gonna look it up on youtube! Suesue
If you want to see Tuomas being emotional - though it is heart wrenching - watch the End of an Era video of "Ever Dream". This was the last concert before the letter of dismissal was given to Tarja. If you're empathic, you can sense the tension in all the guys during that whole concert.
@ 5:47, Floor goes full blown CRUCIFIX. I rewatch it and that 30 second shot is great, I mean GREAT.
Nightwish always tells you a story.
Personally, this is very emotional for me.

I am at Sweden rock festival and have been here since Wednesday and going home sunday. So havent had the time to see your reactions these days. Nightwish played on thursday and it was fenomenal 😍 waiting for Within temptation and Guns & Roses this last evening
Is Axl with Guns n Roses or did they replace him? So jealous of you at the festival but happy for you too! -Suesue
@@SueSueandthewolfman Axl where here but he was so bad at the vocals so really did not enjoy it. Within temptation was awesome live and you should check them out. A band that is not far from Nightwish
Forky has good taste. Thanks for reacting to Dead Boys Poem, it is in my opinion an overlooked, underappreciated gem.
Thx Jab!
This is a classic from their Wishmaster album :-)
Zo ongelofelijk mooi
Emppu staying sad.
The boys words, ouch.
Marko and Troy jamming away!
"Ocean soul".
Tuomas, lost childhood, no way back, difficult to be an adult when you are "highly sensitive",
so few people understand what you are going through.
That's why it seems so overwhelming with emotions, it's his soul being laid bare.
PS
The "gating" is a bit severe still. :)
i noticed that about Emppu -
Gotta react to Elvinjiig/Elvenpath and Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean from this show.
Hello, a beautiful reaction, but how can you react to such a sparkler?
I see someone else has already suggested diving into a few other songs from this concert - I'd like to suggest another double reaction, one album version and one from this show: The Carpenter. It was the only single from Nightwish's debut album Angels Fall First. One interesting bit of trivia for you - when Nightwish recorded Angels Fall First, they didn't have a bassist, so Emppu laid the bass tracks as well as guitars.
Vocals from the Buenos Aires show, Floor and Troy. Vocals on the album version, Tarja and... Tuomas!
Decades tour Buenos Aires: ruclips.net/video/Di197sOG21c/видео.html
the music video: ruclips.net/video/Z4A5HwMOfW8/видео.html
are you saying Tuomas is singing? -Suesue
But he tried.)
He brought in guest vocalists to handle male vocals on the albums Oceanborn and Wishmaster, with those being on the back tracks (or occasionally guest vocalists onstage) during concerts Then of course, Marko replaced Sami Vänskä on bass and took over male vocals starting with Century Child up through Human :||: Nature. And now Troy and Floor between them have taken over the bulk of Marko's vocal duties since he left.
🤩👌💥💯
🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙
I thought there was a version with subtitles but i couldnt find it. There are lyric videos but not hie version you watched but if you just want the words then you should be ok. Thanks for the reaction, I enjoy seeing you enjoy the songs as I did and still do.
Thank you Lee! Be blessed!
Apart from that you guys are rocking it.🤘
we're working on it Phil!
Hey, you should definitely check out Devil and the deep dark ocean and slaying the dreamer and elan beunos,Aires live 2019 Nightwish, awesome thanks requesting ❤️🔥😎

Good one. Have you done Seven Days To The Wolves Wembley 2017
we did that one and its on our homepage playlist but i cant remember off hand if it was Wembley 2017? Suesue
I'm noticing Buenos Aires performances have been a bit overlooked by reactors recently (with this song and I want My tears back as exceptions). After covering Human Nature album, you should consider react to BA concert, or take more performances from this concert as future reactions. This concert is special because is mostly based on songs from their oldest albums, so discover the old gems after reaching for the new ones.
what year is this Carlos?
also, plz check our playlist on our homepage and you will be able to see we have done a number of Buenos Aires songs but I would love to do more!!
