  • In the final minutes of the 3rd period, after allowing 2 goals by the Canadiens, Kaapo Kakko scored a power play goal which would be the game winner for the Rangers. With Chris Kreider back in the lineup, New York scored 3 power play goals after struggling over the last 5 games. Jonathan Quick made 25 saves in his 398th win of his career.

At above a 50 point pace with a +11 with third line minutes. No complaint from his game this season. Sneakily taking that step we want to see.

That’s just the difference of having kreider on the ice. Guy is a legend for a reason. He’s a superstar for a reason. He wins games. His positioning is correct 99% of the time. He’s playing hurt because he knows his team needs him.

Kinda crazy what adding him and Chytil back to the team adds to lineup depth/skill

Clutching at straws or what? Standing in front of the goalie makes him a superstar does it? Let's see him tear it up against New Jersey .

@@neilgibbs3185 just in case you didn’t know…net front presence makes a huge difference in whether a puck goes in or not. When the goalie doesn’t see the puck you have a much better chance of scoring. If you didn’t know that then you might as well tell us you don’t know hockey wo saying you don’t know hockey. Kreider might not be a superstar but he is one of the best in the entire league at deflecting pucks and said net front presence. He was directly responsible for 2 of the goals in this game because of his …yup you guessed it…net front presence.

Thanks very much for explaining that to me it was most educational.I have only been watching hockey for 30 years or so and it never occurred to me that obscuring the goalie's view of the puck would make it more difficult for him.
Standing in front of the net diverting pucks is now a 6 million dollar a year job is it ?.New York cops diverting traffic must feel severely undervalued!

5th game in the last 8 days for the Rangers. Not an impressive win but, today, because of the horrible schedule I give them the benefit of the doubt. And it’s a tough league. Utah destroyed Vegas(at Vegas!) tonight 6-0. It’s a long season and nobody’s perfect. LGR!

The player’s recognition of Trouba’s fight suggests strongly that the front office opening wanting to trade their “captain” and “leader” at the end of last season has had a deep negative impact on the team. That coupled with salary discussions and negotiations.

Rangers are just lucky any other good goaltender would have save that from going in especially with 22 seconds to go they need a goalie very bad I'll give Montreal 2 years and they are going to be beat everyone

    Sigh of relief?!?…
..for basically tying a last place team ( Kakko was lucky/with seconds left) and arguably getting outworked/played AGAIN; all while playing their same ol’ structure of complacently leaning on their goaltender?!🙄🥱🤬👎
If ANY fan is sighing with relief they either don’t know this game, let alone this team OR they are just as clueless as this organization!!🙄👎
