I had a VSX-1020-K I gave to a friend. I upgraded to Pioneer's Andrew Jones speakers and MCACC just did not work well with them. No matter how many times I ran the calibration, they actually sounded worse with it on. Tried using Audessy on a Denon AVR-2113CI and the results were incredible.
I have the very similar VSX-819 that I bought in 2008. I've used it almost daily for watching tv, movies and sirius radio through a bluetooth adapter. I bought one of the 4k players that has separate audio and video hdmi outputs so I can send the 4k signal straight to my tv. No Atmos of course but I'm in no rush to have to buy a new receiver AND speakers. It's probably in it's twilight years but I've never had an issue.
Leaving electronics switched on 24/7 is far better for long term lifespan. Avoids thermal shock stress on power supply connections, keeps capacitors from drying out.....I had to sign a document from the supplier, when I purchased a mixing desk for a radio station, saying that it would be left running continuously, in order for the 10 year warranty to remain valid. Generally electronics prefer to remain on for long term reliability. My pc stays on all the time, (as it’s a media server at home) 9 years and counting.....
For a VSX-LX303 answer straight from the manual: 1. While pressing the AUTO/DIRECT button on the main unit, press STANDBY/ON. 2. "Clear" is displayed on the display, and the unit returns to the standby state. Do not remove the power cord until "Clear" disappears from the display. To reset the remote controller, while pressing and holding MODE, press the button at least 3 seconds until the remote indicator blinks twice.
I have the VSX 822 k and recently I noticed very few buttons work, I can only use the Input buttons to change the source and the Signal Select button, nothing else works not even the power button. I reset the receiver and I've tried pressing every button on the remote with various combinations of the Receiver button and others.
Hi mate I have a pioneer streio receiver how do I reset it I got rid of my amplifier does this need it for radio as it worked for couple weeks on its own its a SX-20? ?I Have tried few videos but its just stand by mode so powers on just no display can you help me as I don't want to uy another amplifier if this won't work without it as radio worked for a short time and I thought maybe needs amp for power but powers button is on 🤔🤔🤔
Databits has suggested completely turning off power to your electronics when not in use to preserve your electronics. ( capacitors, resistors, etc.) This is generally true. The downside is that many/most electronic pieces will dump all your personal settings. And you will have to re-set everything when powering back up.
I feel glad that most of my equipment (the two blu-ray players, the hifi components, and the AV receiver) are connected via a master switch (when turned off this switch cuts power to the majority of the equipment, I can also individually turn on and off items from the switches on the sockets) the computer monitor, desktop PC, and KVM switch are not connected up to the master switch though
There are even cheaper 32K 12-D TV eyesocket implants you can get online. Or you can still get the crappy 8K 6-D knock off models for only 10 Bubblechips. They are RFI Implant Compatible. But you'll need to connect to Templevision's old servers through a cellphone tower line. The 32K can connect through and active phone jack in a house with the Fountainhead 2.2 box. But yeah. Don't leave it plugged in. It'll just slowly melt into your system, and then you'll have to visit your local K. Richards center to get a flush & fill.
I found a Pioneer VSA-E 06 on the side of the street. It didnt work, but it was a broken hidden fuse, so now it works. It doesnt have HDMI but the sound quality is very good. Its also made in japan, so no cheap stuff from china
So question: I have a similiar av pioneer vsx530 got for free. Im using for two channel listening. My question when connected to tv either by arc 3 hdmi or just headpone (tv) out to receiver via analog cable I get this annoying DIGITAL BLINKING LIGHT THAT i CANNOT MAKE GO BYE BYE!! any suggestions???.
pioneer VSX-1020 pqls flashing--- Had no problems over past 11 years until the past couple of weeks. We now have a repeatedly shuts down and the blinking PQLS red light and will not power on. But when I power unplug and re-plug there is click in sound which show it was ON but only show blinking PQLS red light nothing else. I tryed all speaker and HDMI unplug but same as it is.
Any reason why i am unable to reset my vsx 324? It has the flashing hdmi (white text) and flashing digital. It did have the flashing red hdmi but that changed to the white text, radio works fine. So the issue is this; while in game mode i only get audio intermittently during the flashing hdmi (audio cuts in and out, no video). I swapped out the hdmi cables and ran the hdmi from ps4 straight into tv and i get video and audio like normal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Hello, there is a pioneer vsx 329 model that I am using, I am having a voice problem alone, it detects on the remote control, but when it is put into ac usb mode, tv mode or radio mode, there is no sound from the device and it freezes when it resets.
Hi, thanks for the video. I have a VSX-821 and the left channel is giving me problem. It is much softer than the right channel. I had ruled out cable and speaker problem. As a result, I had to increase the gain on the left to +16dB manually as compared to -3dB on the right to get the correct balance, a difference of about 20dB!! My question is, would a factory reset fix the problem?
Yes it does. Fixed my VSX-832 with the same problem. Left channel was down about 6 db. First I ran the calibration mic and l and r channels were the same so it's in the software, not the amps.
Good Afternoon guys. I decided to make a cinema at my home and then I bought a VSX 80 and connected it to an Optama projector and apple tv. Everything was working correctly, but two days ago, after some heavy rains in my city, suddenly it stopped showing the image, transmitting only sound. I tried to remove and put the HDMI to check if it was not bad contact, but it also don’t worked. Does anyone have any possible solution to this problem?
The readout "Playstation 3" setting jumps off by itself when I try to play a movie. Hoping Resetting it will return it to the original valid setting. It always worked before for years.
Your setup is incredible, and that laserdisc, I fell in love with it since I saw the video you made about it, I gave my like here before I even finished watching it ^^
Hello, maybe you know how to switch pioneer tuner broadcasting from Japan mhz to European? Mine simply switched to Japanese mhz and i cannot listen to local radio stations
Thank you for the video also works with the vsx-1022 that's what I had and came across your video thank you I reset it the same way you showed on the other one!
I've got a 50" Toshiba old school DLP TV and a 40" Dynex LCD both purchased in 2004 that are still running strong. They are both used everyday for hours and hours and I've never unplugged them. I guess I've just had good luck with crappy electronics from China.
I also have a Toshiba DLP rear-project TV. New bulbs are cheap, and it still looks great. The only downside is that while it has "1080p DLP!" prominently silk-screened on the front, it only accepts up to 1080i input. So even though its DLP is in theory 1080p, I have no way of getting 1080p content to it. Which is annoying, because most modern devices now *ONLY* have progressive. So if your TV doesn't support 1080p, it goes down to 720p rather than 1080i.
The "passthrough" models usually mean that one single port on it will allow the full HDMI stream to go through to the TV. My older (similar to the one in this video) "3D passthrough" only has one HDMI port that works for this. The other HDMI ports all have 1080i/no-3D maximum.
Cool, I have the 1019...a huge beast with multi zone. However I sadly retired it with a much smaller Sony that has some features the 1019 just didn’t have because of its age
I find leaving everything like this plugged in and powered through a surge suppressor / power conditioner to be the best way for them to last; to go through the start up process every time is very hard on electronics.

Pioneer AV RECEIVER MODEL VSX-1027-K RECEPTEUR AV MODELE VSX-1027-K This is the one I'm using. Sometime it's watching very good sometime it's not working I'm getting mad I don't have even the remote
I bought a used same-generation/different-model a few years ago. Sadly, the audio circuitry has failed - it occasionally (started happening more and more frequently as it got older,) would suddenly play a **FULL VOLUME BUZZ** instead of the actual audio. Yeah, watching a quiet scene in a scary movie, then suddenly maximum volume *BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZ* is rather bad for your heart...
one of the things I dont understand is the more recent trend of 8K consoles (i will admit I do use a 4K computer monitor with my desktop PC, the reason why I use it is because it gives me more room on the screen, and the particular configuration I have doesn't allow for anything higher than 4K 60hz anyway (1440p would work to some extent, however, it would still be capped to 60hz) and as strange as it may seem, I have my PC connected to an AV receiver (and my computer monitor connects to the AV reciever, and the AV reciever handles the audio, there are also two blu-ray players connected to the AV reciever, and quite a few HIFI components, via switchboxes)
Omgoodness, so thankful I found this video. Fixed my audio issues in less than a minute after spending 3+ hours. Thank you!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU! Thanks soo much.

TNX but you have a little mistake. the lest step is to hit ALC button and then again hit the ALC button.
Burn up the capacitors? Sorry, but removing power from devices does not save the capacitors in any way.
Holy crap. Used one costs around $80 here.
thank you so much!!!!! Muchas gracias
Welcome!
Don’t understand the fascination with 4K! Useless without HDR/ Dolby Vision.
Most people cannot see the difference between 1080 and 4K anyway.
one of the things I dont understand is the more recent trend of 8K consoles
(i will admit I do use a 4K computer monitor with my desktop PC, the reason why I use it is because it gives me more room on the screen, and the particular configuration I have doesn't allow for anything higher than 4K 60hz anyway (1440p would work to some extent, however, it would still be capped to 60hz)
and as strange as it may seem, I have my PC connected to an AV receiver (and my computer monitor connects to the AV reciever, and the AV reciever handles the audio, there are also two blu-ray players connected to the AV reciever, and quite a few HIFI components, via switchboxes)
I reset mine about every three day....unreliable at best....no picture tonight.

And you must have a hundred plug sockets hahahahaha
