He was! But Dunsworth was a great guy and returned the blow - with much more class. Dunsworth ran as an independent for an elected office in Canada and there's a very short film about his campaign on youtube. The anchor is absolutely wrong: TPB is consideres a genius work and it created the documentary style used by both versions of The Office.
Dunsworth was a recovering alcoholic - did you notice how he said "there's nothing wrong with dope" but did not mention alcohol? Because beer is much worse than weed.

Update: I quit my job as a security guard after 4 years and I am now an industrial technician. I've been employed with this job for a year, about to get a second raise, a promotion, I'm married now and I own my own house. 😊
I will say honestly that The Trailer Park Boys helped me out of the lowest point in my life. I was going through any parents worst nightmare. Grieving, depressed, angry, and the first time I smiled in about a month was watching an episode of the boys. I'll be forever grateful and I wish I could thank them in person. 5 years later and I'm still here.

@@Dadlinsen I know a lot of people think the actor for Lahey was an alcoholic too or at least was drunk, but that wasn't true at all. He was sober 100% of the time, he's just that good of an actor. Apparently he did a lot of regional (local) theater, and he was over 70 years old so he wasn't inexperienced when it came to acting. I respect him for being as convincing a drunk actor as he was; I didn't know whether he drank or not on the show until I looked it up he was that convincing.
Basically I'm saying he was a GREAT actor for the role he played and I believe he enjoyed the role he had even though it wasn't the most high-brow role, I believe he relished playing the role well because he knew he was very well-received and that the show was a hit and was actually making an impact on peoples' lives, something the interviewer here clearly is 40 years behind on. Living in the fucking 20th century, and NOT the good part...

Actually this was just a twisted joke between friends. Jim Nunn called John Dunsworth up and said come down to the studio to do an interview. And John said no, because it was the end of the run of the show. So Jim said come on down and I'll just slam you and the show. So John said I'll be right down. You can hear a radio broadcast on the internet somewhere of them talking about it. They were the only two in on the joke. Jim Nunn was also in the the TPB movie Don't Legalize It this year.
That just made a whole lot of sense.

John, you were an amazing man and a wonderful actor. 7 years ago, I was alone. Lost most of my friends, my wife left me with my son, I then lost my job due to a car accident. I was stuck on home, trying to keep the devil away....you boys gave me some friends. I grew up in a very similar trailer park. This show wasnt that far off the mark. Yall took things to the extreme, but it was never out of this world loony. Thank you for all your hardwork, John. Rest easy, now... .

For all you getting angry about Jim Nunn, he's John Dunsworth's friend in real life and this interview was staged. Jim told Dunsworth over the phone that he wanted to take an adversarial approach (pretend to be an asshole in layman) and Dunsworth agreed. Nunn also said he loves watching the show.
