Remember in Europe and England, the drinking age is 18 and here in the United States is 21 and they have alcohol on the shit so I think that’s one of the big factors
I thought it has to do with becoming of full age, because then you can sign contracts without a parent/guardian - but the drinking age really makes sense.
In the UK (and some other countries in Europe) the drinking age is 18 unlike the US, so I think this plays a lot into the age of the queens on the show. If they can perform (legally) in bars, they can do the show.
Man, Miss Season 4 has really become the “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” of the winners. Trust me, I know why that is, but to think this used to be one of the most popular winners on the show.
Well She literally did change up drag when she won, it opened the world to a more alternative style and approach to drag, so it makes sense why she was one of the more popular winners
@R.j🥶 she did through drag race. At season 4, Drag Race was really big and impactful in the drag scene and of course her drag wasn't new in the world but open spooky alt drag to many people that didn't knew it existed before.
@@anusthing*thank you* lots of people found their place because of Miss S4's drag. But people are so set on bashing that type of drag because that person happened to be a walking trash can. @@Bazibishop Hahahaha. Right? In all fairness to her, she very well could’ve just _forgotten_ exactly what was going on. Sharonne being in the top every episode and only one safe, having the best performance in the franchise and also being the oldest one is such an all time slay.
i would assume the minimum age for each franchise is whatever its respective country's legal drinking age is, just to make sure when they're serving alcohol that everyone can legally drink it. the US has a pretty old legal drinking age compared to most other countries.
There is a queen here in UK called Betty Legs Diamond who was mysteriously silent on social media during season 5 filming and left her long term residency the month before. If she is on she's a definite contender for the crown and would definitely be the oldest winner so far as I'm sure she is in 50s. One to watch for sure 🙌💃
I'm SHOCKED by these first couple of ages! I for sure thought everyone was older than they were. And this is no shade, they just all seemed so well composed and I simply... wasn't at their respective ages.
As a Torontonian, come on over gal! and all the girls from the gig you wish to bring. We can all meet up for dinner and drinks or something. love the show (been watching since way way back and your rise has been so fabulous to see. )
Thanks Mera and Chloe!! This was a fun aging adventure. Chloe cracks me up, I love her!!! I like how the words "Okay" and "Yes" have varied meanings depending on the intonation in Chloe's pronunciation!! 😅🤣😂 Kinda like "Work" and "Fierce"...
I've been noticing a slight trend with drag in general where the brown hair is making a comeback, it may still be too early, but I have been noticing more drag queens rocking the brunette and dark blonde hair 😍
Y'all need to go back and watch Season 7. I know you hate Violet, Mera, but she had a cute little not-being-mean-anymore arc in her season that was really genuine and sweet.
My thought on Priyanka was that maybe she also came off younger because she spent time on children’s tv first, so she had to have a certain charisma and personality

For Crystal Versace being the youngest, the reason being is in the UKs law when you pass 18 you're allowed to do certain things, you're legally considered an adult, whereas in the US you're legally considered an adult at 21 😊
You got me thinking about how I thought Blu did the 3 tatas first but I went and looked, She probably THOUGHT she was first and then watched season 11 like “DAMN she got me gal”

Gotta check their bdays at the time they won. Between Aquaria and Tyra At the time the final episode aired Tyra Sanchez was technically 22 and 4 days. Aquaria was 22 and 4 months at the time the final episode aired. She was 21 while competing. Hmmmmm??? Who was the youngest winner???? 😱😱😱😱
Canadas legal age to drink etc is 19 I would assume so it England's which is why the other franchises have younger queens is cause of the age restrictions are different
I feel like Sasha will win. I can’t imagine a scenario where she doesn’t. She’s been consistently doing really well and I don’t think there’s anything she’s scared to do. I would absolutely love for Mistress to win if for some reason Sasha doesn’t.
I think the age thing has to do with the drinking age. If people could drink at 18 here you know they would have them on the show. Most clubs in the US are 21+ (queer clubs tend to be more 18+), but I feel like it’s probably to just avoid all of those complications.
The age thing is due to the alcohol sponsored show and events. Most other countries have a drinking age of 18 so it’s okay for them to be around and consume it 👄 yummm

Pretty sure minimum ages across Drag Race franchises are due to alcohol rules... don't forget DR usually allows the queens to drink backstage and the US is one of the only countries with a minimum drinking age of 21, isn't it?
I bet there is an element of "crown the older queen, let the younger runner-up win Allstars once they've become more experienced". Because like, I can't see Sasha doing Allstars but Mistress I could see go on and obliterate

Remember in Europe and England, the drinking age is 18 and here in the United States is 21 and they have alcohol on the shit so I think that’s one of the big factors
It’s THE factor. Also most drag queens can’t start in clubs till they are 21 or until the bar thinks their 21.
I thought it has to do with becoming of full age, because then you can sign contracts without a parent/guardian - but the drinking age really makes sense.
@@IvyTinweage of majority is 18 across the US, so it’s not about that. It’s literally only the drinking age that’s elevated in the US to 21yrs old
