    As a Vegas local, it's heartbreaking seeing our politicians bend over for Fisher too. I hope they saw what happened yesterday and take notice. Why should we believe in all these promises to our community? Look at how they treated the Oakland community!

    • @Ja.Crispy
      @Ja.Crispy 10 месяцев назад

      You definitely should believe the promises because Vegas is a much bigger market than Oakland. It does suck they are leaving cause the history. But they are moving to a bigger market (look how successful the knights have been and they credit a lot of that to their fan base). Plus the stadium in Vegas even though it’s a minor league stadium is better. It’s one of the highest rated minor league parks in all levels until the bigs. Also, they complain that the team has been really bad but that’s definitely a mixture of bad management/ownership and the fact that Oakland is just not a great market for sports teams. Pretty much all their teams have left so it’s harder for me to understand why nobody saw this coming cause teams have been getting out of there for awhile now lol

    • @Jjensen113
      @Jjensen113 10 месяцев назад +7

      @@Ja.Crispy a quick Google search shows that the Vegas market will immediately become the smallest TV market in baseball... Plus the knights found success through winning, which the A's don't do. From my perspective as a Vegas resident and a baseball fan, this entire situation is terrible. Besides, how could I believe these promises when the proposal requires a near sell out for 95 nights a year just to cover the tax loans? None of that money is showing up anytime soon either.

    Ownership can point to how the Oakland city government has also let the Warriors and Raiders leave, and while there may be a point there, I wouldn't want my city giving a nice new stadium to an owner who has never shown interest in winning a championship. You can develop great players, but if you trade guys away decade after decade without extending a few big names or bringing in a key free agent to get you over the hump to win it all, then you clearly haven't earned a new stadium (which realistically shouldn't be payed for with government funds anyways). I grew up hearing about how bad the Baltimore Colts ownership was, but I think the malice shown here probably outweighs the pure incompetence in that scenario.

      Oakland have had teams capable of winning it all in the 2010s. Also why talk about the owner not spending money on players when that’s literally the history of the Franchises time in Oakland. Almost every owner the team has had didn’t spend money. The owner previous to this one didn’t spend either and it led to the creation of MoneyBall. A previous owner in the 70’s tried “trading” Vida Blue, Rollie Fingers, and Joe Rudi for at the time was $2.5 mill ($13 mill today). The reason? Because he didn’t want to pay them.

  • @dustinguyton4837

    Awful take... The fans haven't shown up for this team in forever. Additionally, a significant portion of their "die hard" fan base has left California because of impossibly high costs and increasing crime... specifically in Oakland. This move is exactly what's needed for the franchise to thrive, and it may suck, but it is what it is.

    • @eliyarrows2456
      @eliyarrows2456 10 месяцев назад +3

      The fans don’t show up because they’re boycotting the games. The owner doesn’t want to pay good players so he lets all them leave then expects fans to show up to eat by he worst team in the league every year.
      Do you know this team is on pace for like 20 wins total this year? And you think it’s the rams faults for not showing up????
      And you’re saying fans have left because of high costs, well what the owner demanded of the city for the team to stay was to build an entire new stadium with only tax payer money. That woulda made that problem a whole lot worse.
      You should look into the facts before posting your half naked opinion lol
