    Interesting. Thank you.
    My problem is that I'm continually straying into zone 3. And, especially when I'm going up hill, I often have to slow to a walk.
    However, I'm slowly getting better and I'd say that the 80/20 plan is definitely improving my long runs.
    On the day you were running I think I'd have stuck to 12 miles, had a packet of crisps and a pint of bitter and used my bus pass to get home.

      Sounds like you’re doing all the right things. I definitely have to walk up even small hills to keep within Zone 2. I tend to do my Z2 runs on the flatter trails. Thanks for watching!

    i can only run some of the time to stay in zone 2, so these are always run walks for me. usually 6 min runs 10 min brisk walks keep me in the zone for as many hours as I care to go.

      Perfect! That's the whole point! To continue for as long as needed without stressing/straining the heart and lungs. I use run/walk in all my ultras. It's a necessity to complete 100 miles (for me at least). Thanks for watching and commenting.
