Nice vlog, Yob. I like very much the old National and KDK electric fans. They are reliable machines. I bought them in the 1990's. Last week, I cleaned and oiled one of them, F-40SLM (almost same as in your video). As I put back the covers and tested the motor, I discovered sparking in the magnetic wire winding at the back portion of the motor assembly. Probably, I had hit portion of the winding with my screwdriver (sad). I tried isolating the portion where sparking occurs with a nail polish. I let it dried. When I tested it again, there was still sparking. So I gave up and decided to forego the repair. I assembled back the fan. But when I energized the electric fan, surprisingly, the fan worked without sparking. I guessed the nail polish had insulated the bare copper wire that was causing the spark. I used the fan but cautiously observing the back portion where the sparking had been occurring earlier. On the 6th day, while it was running, suddenly the fan stopped. Until now, I did not bother anymore to troubleshoot it since I guessed the magnet wire where the sparking came from before had been broken finally. Now, I intend to just replace the whole motor assembly. In the past, I was able to buy a new motor assembly for one of my unit which was identical to this unit at the Avesco - Cubao branch. They have repair services then, but now they no longer have and beside, they no longer carry parts of the old model of National and KDK brands as they are already declared obsolete.
After the above background, my question to you now is do you have an stock of this model's motor assembly or what do you recommend? Hoping for your kind consideration.
@@zo9wm You can bring the stator motor assembly to a motor rewinding shop for rewind, but ask them to provide thermal fuse protection of the newly rewind stator for safety. Thanks
@@yobsvlog Thank you for your recommendation, Yob. But if you know where I can buy a new one like this motor, please let me know :)
