Please do this next year it's basically like seeing those RUclips videos of actual doctors, architects, and government agents critiquing media spoofs of their professions! Brilliant commentary, and I think your right. This show is making Strictly more interesting, as there's not exactly a tell-all side to the experience of Strictly, so seeing James and Emmy take that route with JJTT is just remarkable! Thank you both!

Oh please James - re Layton's showdance, you know as well as I do that THEY KNEW THEY WEREN'T GOING TO WIN. Why therefore would they go traditional at that point? Better to just go out and just be 100% himself. He demonstrated clearly that he HAS had a journey in ballroom by executing an amazing QS for the first dance! I loved their showdance and I loved that it was a sexy, jazzy, extravagant, Fosse-y celebration of their friendship.

All of them were worthy winners. I really loved watching Layton and Nikita and they have really done amazing things for representation which ultimately is far more important than the entertainment. Ellie and Vito were brilliant, even with the lift going wrong. I thought the rest of the routine was fabulous. Bobby and Diane were my daughters favourite and she was upset they didn’t win but I think they will be super proud of what they have achieved.

Really enjoyed your videos. One VERY good decision by the show this series was not to have any elimination 2 weeks ago. It make the QF weekend a bit flat, but ensured a 3 couple final, which is the perfect number. It would have been a far worse final without Bobby.
Definitely come back next year, have loved your Monday comments, I've watched every series of Strictly (even though I live in Portugal now) and this was the best ever and the best final. Happy Christmas to James and Emmy and wishing you a brilliant New Year. 😘

I hadn't decided who I was going to vote for in the final and didn't vote until I'd watched all the dances. I voted for Bobby and Diane as I absolutely loved their show dance and their last dance moved me to tears. I am a traditionalist too and you're spot on about Layton. Yes he is a phenomenal dancer but all throughout the competition he danced too often as a soloist.

We absolutely agree with your comments on Couples Choice - I wish it could be removed from the programme, even though we have seen some beautiful dances under that umbrella in this series. I've been watching Strictly for years so of course I'm a big fan. Your show has added a fantastic new dimension to Strictly that I don't think they knew was missing. It's given us all an outsiders/insiders unedited view of each show and I have looooooooooved it! Let's be honest, It Takes Two is all well and good but it's sugary. Everyone says the same things, nobody says anything controversial, everyone's fabulous, everyone's been "working so hard", waffle, waflle. Strictly The Truth has given us fans a different take, a different view, a different dimension. I know James is the host (so pleased your little daughter is doing well) but would it be possible to have some more ex-pros on the show next year? Each week or maybe every second week, have a former pro on to dissect something with James. Please keep Emmy there because she's fabulous too, but a little extra dimension next year, especially in terms of expert input/discussion, would really lift your show even more. Thanks so much for the whole season 🙏🏽

You are totally genuine and always fair and constructive and certainly seem totally in touch with the viewing public. I certainly feel that from you both. This year was extra magical for some reason. Thx Emmy for expressing how much you enjoyed seeing Layton and Nikita dance every week- really meant a lot, as there’s definitely plenty of us that agree with you! Their dances and partnership is the only reason I decided to watch Strictly every week this year, and so many of their dances (but esp. the AT) will remain in my memory for a long time.
Not even going to bother on the pro point due to how often it’s said nearly every season, but I’m very glad the BBC ensures there’s pp, of many different talents and levels on the show, as they’re people from eclectic backgrounds learning the niche aspects involved in ballroom and Latin dancing, and entertaining an audience (with Lakita at the forefront) whilst they’re at it. Sure, those that are trained dancers in other fields will pick up some things, but unlearning, relearning, perfecting, performing and entertaining is beyond astounding- it’d be a different story if a pro ballroom and Latin dancer were ever to be introduced as a celebrity though.
Nowfor the countdownto next yesr, fuelled by the emotions and excellence provoked by Lakita this year!
P.S. how people can say British society as a whole is woke is beyond me- have you ever lived in any place outside of major hubs? Ain’t no way you’d have many of them voting for two guys dancing, especially if they don’t like less traditional aesthetics or any love between them (platonic or otherwise portrayed through dance and conversation)- people want to identify with the person they vote for, and there’s no way that’s going to be a couple they’re intolerant of, as that’s gonna blind out any sententious conversation or thought in that situation- Ellie is what our society is comfortable with, and she was picked over Bobby as she’s consistently performed very well (just like Layton) from the very beginning - the audience like seeing skilled dancers dance for their entertainment, and Ellie perfectly fit the description. Had Amanda still been in, I’m sure I might’ve been a bit surprised, but it’s still evident the extent to which British society as a whole are tolerant of difference and/ or change.

I loved the finale of Strictly. For me Ellie and Layton are winners. Their dances were beautiful and not comparable. As i couldn't vote because I am outside of the UK, i was interested in the opinions given on Facebook and Instagram. I did feel that there were a lot of nasty comments especially regarding Layton. Why was that? He was asked to do this show and worked hard every week. I can understand people have their favorites but this was something else and not always fair to him....

Hi both, firstly all the best for Ella's recovery, and the recovery of mum and dad's sleeping patterns. Secondly, yes please for next year, I have enjoyed the different take on each stage of the competition. And thirdly well done to all the dancers in the final, and Annabel, all of whom had already won in some way, the glitterball this year definitely felt like the glitter on the icing on the Christmas Cake!!
