Impressive
Taking parts off before it even stops
And still screaming hot
I was thinking the very same thing.
Unlike myself, he spends 0 time looking for tools!
Still can't find the 10mm socket
Same here bud 😂
@@xnorcal831x Nobody can! 😂😂
Them boys are trained like no other for this
Multimillion dollar operation, uses a 99¢ Teflon loaf pan from Walmart to put lifters in. I love it !
Hell yeah! LOL what ever gets the job done
I used my hat once..
They are just glad those lifters in that pan stayed together and didn't explode a roller all through out... ;)
Save money where you can vause there's never enough. Especially now that diesel is almost double.
Holy crap that clutch must be red hot after finishing a run. No wonder the dude had on what were essentially heavy duty oven mitts.
Red hot indeed. They get so hot the plates actually weld themselves together
Welding gloves
@@codywhitlock4078 but looks like it really didnt since he pulled 'em out in pieces.
@@HighAway They can, not every time though.
yeah, i know that. im just pointing it out in the video that i do wanna see it what it been claimed as cody mentioned.
Yup, exactly how I did it back home in my dad's garage. But I'd usually have a radio on, KSHE 95
REAL ROCK RADIO!
I’m sorry man but your dad ran a chop shop 😂
You must be from St. Louis.
That’s crazy fast. After about a year of working in a machine shop, I could tear down a SBF or SBC in about 20 minutes-granted no customer stripped bolts. Then I moved up to building cylinder heads and block machining after two years of engine tear down and parts washing. I miss working in a machine shop building race motors!
It’s like poetry in motion!👍👍
And I get in my own way when working on cars by myself...
this guy was cooking, way ahead of everyone
If you have ever worked in a production shop, you know what it’s all about!!
Until the 10mm enters other dimension
Top comment God
I don’t think a single faster is metric on that whole car pretty sure there running 100% merican hardware round these parts
Dam dude the allusive 10 mm. I'm still looking for mine. Think it's with the socks from the dryer
Drop it down a lifter galley. Oops.
love these type of videos
Too Cool! Looking forward to seeing you guys in Seattle in July.
It's nice to see people actually understand what sense of urgency means... move faster or your A$$ is fired. Good job.
I’d hate to lose a 10mm there
They have 30 in there
I remember doing a timing belt YEARS ago and couldn't find my 14 mm wrench anywhere and I go sh*t, better take the cover back off, I bet it got dropped. I was 17 at the time but I made the prudent decision and literally gave myself face ball, because as soon as I took the cover off, there it was... lol,, that never happened again! It also never happened what I start working on race cars or when I actually worked on Top Fuel years later 😊
I love how that tray at 3:48 is so dedicated
I can't believe you have " Toyota " stamped on a BAE Hemi valve-cover ...?
Wildkkat1 right?
Do they throw on a new (or previously used and repaired) set of heads, or do they just rerun the same heads.
Wow he is working on it before it even stops coming to the pit area and while they are backing it in he has it timed perfect qhen it is backed in that is the exact moment he needs his first socket crazzy how fast they are but built to be this fast as well. And if you notice alot of the bolts require no socket just the square end on a extension or impact gun very smart
They don’t use the black impact sockets and extensions?
Anyone needs to see the definition of hustle show them this. Good lord.
Is that engine available in a Prius ?????
That was awesome!
Continuation?
Awesome , Thanks
Camera turned away and the intake was off!
It would be great if he would adjust the camera angle so we could see what he's doing. It's much too low.
Just give a timestamp and ask if you want. There are people here who can tell you.
Saves so much time when there is no coolant.
Outstanding 👌
All the stupid comments. Exhausting.
Always amazed at the level of human excellence. Amazing job gentleman.
What a great video, it went so fast... I actually got dizzy watching it.
Cake pan?
Too bad the only thing Toyota on that Chrysler HEMI is the sticker lol. Nice video 👍
I am a hemi person so at least Toyota has motors with the spark plug over the piston like a hemi unlike Chevy
@@frankkatsenis3812 well said 👍 I also run hemi's, SS/AH stick dart
even if they're wearing gloves isnt the engine so hot it burns ur hand to the touch?
Valve cover says Toyota but the reality is it's a hemi
Indeed
The bolt dropping! Don’t happen! These guys have to be on their game! Mind set!
That was awesome 😎
Wonder what the budget on adderall is?
Guy got more done before the car stopped than many mechanics get done all day
Wow, so cool. The clutch packs were still smoking.
Drop the car off at shop. How long to replace my heads, (Shop) about a week. There's guys rebuild a whole engine in 15 mins, LOL
What's worse is... I remember when you could get a set of heads done for around $30, maybe $45 with guides replaced
That's about half the price of one of the head studs I bet
One badass Toyota
dope video 🔥🔥
Poetry in motion.
One word..... Master🔧
Wow that’s impressive
Holy crap look at the dude taking the smoking clutches apart.
I went and got coffee and he's already done with the valve job...
What engine it's
I think DSR makes their own blocks, but its based on a 2nd generation Chrysler hemi engine.
Ah yes, Toyota hemi v8. My favorite...
I was looking through the comments for something about the Toyota valve covers
If them boys gettin paid by the HR, I feel sorry for their wife's/girlfriends! Rofl.....
That was cool. I don’t understand how those guys get around those cars when running without a respirator and glasses.
That is a sweet Toyota
Those ports tho
DAMN!WOW
this is a great idea, there as it happens, but use a dedicated camera person this is too jumpy.
You know!! Most of these guys work Full Time at PEP BOY's.. Thay just do this on the Weekends!!!!
Are you sure? Maybe post season but I imagine that during the season there isn't much time with all the pre/post race prep, testing and traveling from track to track...
@@Quagmire17000 .... it was a joke Phil..
@@lovejago I'm an idiot 😂 got me good bud
Lol
Hi. What are you doing there and why. ? After one drive you change all I drive motorsport. But i dont understand your sport. Sorry for my english.
They disassemble the engine to remove the pistons and they inspect the main bearings. Part troubleshooting, part maintenance, and part tuning for the next run.
What you see in this video specifically is the guy assigned to work on the bank 1 (left side) cylinder head removing the parts needed the remove that head, he installs collars to keep the sleeves in place, then he removed and inspect the lifters for the vavletrain.
Damn it takes me longer to change the oil in my truck!
Id feel sorry for the guy who will eventually drop a bolt down in to the intake holes
doesnt matter because every thing is coming apart anyways
It’s a dance at this point, muscle memory:)
That's one barren looking tool box
only what he needs and nothing more
did not know Toyota made big-block Hemi's
Through the stomach of Matt Sackman
Props to bettycroker pan !
Meanwhile it takes me four hours to change the oil on one of my bikes.
Snatch a head in 4 mins!! Sick
A small child could fall into those intake ports...
Cool video, but seeing Toyota on a Mopar Hemi value cover is pretty insulting.
Yeah... back in the 70's they couldn't get away with that, because back then they used actual Chrysler castings and parts. Now, even though the engine architecture is that of a true blue 426 Hemi (but bored and stroked), everything in there is custom or aftermarket, and CNC. If Toyota wants to sponsor it, they can... but at its heart it's Hemi all the way.
@@easygoing2479 Indeed it is a HEMI. Even though the block and heads are cut from billet aluminum, the final product equates to the 426 HEMI design. No other engine could withstand the controlled pressures created within the cylinders.
If Mopar wants their name there, they can pony up the bucks and R&D like Toyota did. 'Tis a free country, nothing's stopping them.
@@glyphs3 you can thank Darton sleeves for that.
Is that a cylinder head, or a football field!!
Awsome
Thats like 5 month project for me lol. Oo and it's usually a 3v s197 motor 😂
that thing says toyota on it, thank god in 68 years old.
This costs 10 grand at the dealership:p
2 valve per sylinder.
2 GIANT valves per cylinder
It is total bullshit seeing the Toyota name on an engine designed by Chrysler, I don't care that the patent has expired it just isn't right.
Chrysler? You mean Fiat?
@@moabman6803 No it was when Chrysler was still an American owned car company, before Daimler Chrysler, or Fiat or the current owners Stellantis.
They can pony up the money like Toyota did then.
….When did Toyota make Hemi engines?!
Im just gonna say thats Not a Toyota engine.. It by itself is bigger than most Toyotas...
Tidy little job 👍🇬🇧
I want to see these guys put together an LS in under 5 minutes.
Yes I worked in the pits...
Matt sackman must be a one dizzy dude
That aint no TOyoda moduer!
Ain't no teeyoda
looks like he's done it before...
If you know your shit you know your shit
From the Sounds of it, seems like a lot of rounded bolt and nuts ...
Well you heard wrong
Just for a few seconds on a track.
Hardly seems worth it
holy poopstain batman!
Sound like swarm of bubble bees 😄
This engine identifies as a Toyota!!!! Lol
Nasty
🙄😍
I get a kick out of “Toyota” on the Hemi engine! If that’s a Toyota engine, I’m the angel Moronic! Or is it Nephi??
Don't try this at home!
Why the hell are they still using air tools? Electric is the way to go. As strong or stronger than air, nothing to lube, no hoses to trip over. I don't get it.
First, they're sponsored. Second, the first time a battery goes dead they're gonna be in the dumpster
@@GreatLakesLogger I have snap on tools. They are as good as anything else out there. Battery dies put it on the charger and grab another one. I've broken 3/8 bolts with the 3/8 snapon electric impact. The 1/2" can loosen lug nuts on my semi wheels.
@@bobsbillets that might be, I can do the same with my milwaukee stuff. Nonetheless, they is a level of reliability and a better feel of consistency with pneumatic than electric. Also, like I said previously, they are sponsored by the tool brand they use. It's a big enough sponsorship that they have to use their tools
Uhhhh, they used electric impacts also, and get the f out if you think current cordless tools can match air. You know better than that yourself.
He must be flat ratem
Nothing toyota about it
Wow.
A toyota powerd top fuel dragster.
