Dana White is an incredibly greedy POS who underpays the workers who sacrifice their health for his benefit and our entertainment. The UFC has created a monopsony through exploitive contracts. Go read John Nash on substack who has reported on this if you want to research the UFC

31:52 "COULD care less" This is already the second or third time in this conversation he's said this, and he says it all the time. For a guy as smart as Lex, I'm a little surprised he doesn't realize that saying "could care less" implies that you do care. If you don't care, you'd say "couldn't care less".
I'm Scottish from a small town in East fife and remember the stephan bonner vs forest Griffin fight happening live. My dads mate phoned him and told him to put it on and the next day everyone was telling the tale at high school. Cool moment now looking back
You do a good job with interviews by letting people speak and let audience have a glimpse of who they are and where they come from :-). Nicely done :-).
I'm a newer fan (2020), but I watch every single event and I know pretty well everyone on the roster. The first fight that comes to mind is... Gaethje/Chandler. I feel like fights are stopped too easily these days compared to then. Marc Goddard makes me nervous anytime he refs a big fight because he's so quick to jump in and have his moment of stopping it. For instance, Izzy/Periera and Periera/Jiri.
Unbelievable. The mcgregor fight took the shine of it over thr hype about conor at the time but its still the best ufc fight I've seen live and I've been watching constantly since maybe 2012 or before
I've long been a Lex fan and now I'm huge Dana fan as well. That was a fantastic interview, one of my favorites ever, and I almost skipped it. Thank you!

Dana's a busy guy - they're literally doing it from his office haha
@@DrWeird-zw5dcit's an interview, you should be able to talk about yourself 🤡
One of the best interviews I’ve heard in a long time. Could listen to more stories from Dana.
I liked when Dana said: winning means also losing. It's part of the game in sports or business. I agree that real successful people understand this concept. There will always be ups and downs in anything you go for. Also, thank you for recommending Vision Quest! 😊
53:51 Dana is a philosopher without realising it 💯
so @howiemandell was right
Dana, you’re a rare man these days. Thank you for what you do.
Dana mentioning Norm was the best thing on this one
norm mcdonald? timestamp?

“Without the vision, there’s nothing.” So true! Visionaries specialize in passion and never give up. 👊

I thought he wasn't doing podcasts anymore?
Marcelo Garcia said that nogi is like training in the gi when your grips are tired. And that gi is like when the nogi match starts and you're both totally dry
Finally i have something to listen to on my way to work
me too
Hope your commute isn't 1.5h
@@lucajack007Well sadly it is, so this is very welcome. I love Lex’s podcasts for commute, at least I learned a lot instead of brainlessly scrolling. Go Lex!
Future album dropped too
@@ElektronicEscalationI used to have a 1.5 hour commute. I got into Stephen King audio books. They're the best! Some are like 50 hours long!
We use to watch vision quest during wrestling season, heaters maxed, entire team sweating it out on the mats, preparing for war
Sounds like a fun time, the sack topping must have been amazing,.
We used to watch it also. Great movie to get you focused for a match👍👍👍
Im excited to see if he talks about the Howie thing. Lex is a different breed of human that I imagine Dana respects, so im glad he got him to change his previous statement and come on. Dana has a lot of good insights to offer.
Dana thinks clearly and talks clearly. I like that.
He's been speaking bullocks for years... this is nothing for him
@@MAkAVeLlIiii I bet your better at it.
@@r.l.strange1897 what kind of response is this? Why are you so hurt over a truthful statement about Dana?
@@MAkAVeLlIiiiHow's that view from way up there above the rest of us?
@@tuhaggis what are you talking about? I spoke a fact about Dana...what are you even saying? Did I trigger a uncomfortable feeling in you too? Stay out of your feelings and just relax. No need to get triggered over a true statement I made
Dana is just the best podcast gues ever. Great job asking questions and letting Dana finish. Exceptional interview
An all star UFC line up podcast would be incredible with Dana!
They should make a movie about Dana White and the rise of the UFC
This was by far.... the best podcast I have ever watched. Thank you Lex Fridman and thank you Dana White!
this has got to be a troll lol...*this* is the best podcast you've ever listened to?
I know what he means about muting the audio. I mute the audio for CFB.. unless it's Gus and Joel haha! I don't need ESPN to tell me what I just saw. I used to love the skycam
Wow never knew these two would do a podcast together . Fucking love it , keep it going Lex !!!!
I enjoyed this conversation. Thanks for encouraging words from Dana.
Лекс, мне очень нравятся твои подкасты, продолжай делать это замечательное дело. Привет из России 👍
one of the best interviews ever Lex ... love love loved it .... keep up the fantastic work
LEX- We need “one” with Chatri Sityodtong now. Awesome job thank you 🙏
@UC8hUaqzC_qCUmxHDgcF-niw movies like vision quest move so many people broadly speaking because regardless if one trains , life itself is a fight… “fighting is the best thing a man can have in his soul…” R.G. Thank you for this amazing interview. I was already a Dana fan after seeing a clip of him defending free speech for his fighters from the legacy media. After this interview my respect for him only grew after learning about his loyalty and how he was willing to throw it all away for Rogan his friend. Powerful stuff. Thank you Lex. 🙏

Fatigue in fighting is like being in the middle of the ocean with weights tied to you , not knowing
How to swim, with a shark circling you. 😂
This interview and episode drop timing is perfect. And this is coming from someone with little experience, knowledge,and/or interest in the UFC but now I AM INTERESTED. In learning more about what and where the UFC comes from. This is the right person to see it through, his eyes, danas POV is making it easy for me to get it, the allure. Really interesting how hearing it from him made me want to know more. Good stuff. Hats off to Lex and the work hes doing and sharing for FREE on RUclips.
you should maybe not only look at this sport from the eyes of dana. he is a liar and a promotor. he struck his wife in public just like a year ago.
he has probably helped alot of fighters (DC & Chael predominantly) but make no doubt about it. if you get to know how the sausage is made when it comes to the UFC and Dana in perticular... yeah. not the eyes you should ONLY see it through.
Dana White is an incredibly greedy POS who underpays the workers who sacrifice their health for his benefit and our entertainment. The UFC has created a monopsony through exploitive contracts. Go read John Nash on substack who has reported on this if you want to research the UFC
@@technodromen yeah you're right I agree. I meant more like the UFC culture and company as a whole im interested in learning about. The whole thing is fascinating, the community the talent the money the business the people! I think Dana is kinda funny and life through his eyes does have a unique pov as he is immersed in that community and the role it plays in his daily life. His experience and insights are valid to me at least. I hear you tho!
This was great; I wish he'd talked abit more about his time in Disturbed, and what it's like touring with the band after Covid and stuff
Listening to Dana talk about the scale and the beginnings of the UFC is so fun. "Building a good team". I can't believe they stuck with it. Well done.
Thanks for educating me on UFC and professional organizer and learning of past UFC champions and evolution..learning of Dana's positive energy!! Nice stuff coming from Budapest!!!
42:27 Dana talking about old fighters having to face "young killers" when he is basically holding Tom Aspinall hostage 😂😂
Tom doesnt want to fight blades, runs from him
I mean cmon, everyone knows he’s full of it. Sometimes he tells the truth, sometimes he shows hypocrisy.
Um..ok
Tom who??
Literally just said last week he wants the rematch next . Keep up buddy @@zoro8117
31:52 "COULD care less" This is already the second or third time in this conversation he's said this, and he says it all the time. For a guy as smart as Lex, I'm a little surprised he doesn't realize that saying "could care less" implies that you do care. If you don't care, you'd say "couldn't care less".
I noticed that, too.
Loved Tuesday night fights!Who remembers Jimmy Thunder?
With the "Champ" Sean O'Grady!
26:25 coming back to 5th time to this seconds just to digest. What an inspiration from Dana. Thank you for putting up this podcast, Lex!
I'm Scottish from a small town in East fife and remember the stephan bonner vs forest Griffin fight happening live. My dads mate phoned him and told him to put it on and the next day everyone was telling the tale at high school. Cool moment now looking back
My father was a 25 year wrestling coach, always loved vision quest, had us watch it as kids, and we still watch it at the hunting cabins, hell yeah!
That's a classic!
Such a great pod. Two amazing and badass dudes! Let’s go!
You do a good job with interviews by letting people speak and let audience have a glimpse of who they are and where they come from :-). Nicely done :-).
What’s the most brutal UFC fight you’ve seen? Lawler-MacDonald 2 is my pick
That was insane man. It's definitely top 3. An absolute bloodbath!
The mcgregor fight took the shine of it over thr hype about conor at the time but its still the best ufc fight I've seen live and I've been watching constantly since maybe 2012 or before
Cain Velasquez vs Antonio "bigfoot" Silva
Jones and Gustafson put eachother through hell. It was just a brutal war of attrition and it went on til the very end.
He just don’t like howie 😂 I don’t blame em
thanks for L.Fridman and Dana White. one of the best talks ever. by the way, Lex, you deserve all you got😀
Just finished giving the Teddy Atlas pod a relisten. Great stuff. Looking forward to what's in-store here!
Thanks! All the best!
Definitely a knockout episode
Wish Lex pushed Dana on why he doesn't like Frank Shamrock..
A true pioneer
Hall of fameer
You never ask difficult questions Lex.
These are nut hugger interviews
You are very fast, Lex.
I've long been a Lex fan and now I'm huge Dana fan as well. That was a fantastic interview, one of my favorites ever, and I almost skipped it.
Thank you!
How is he on this pod before doing Rogan again?
Could be a scheduling conflict
Lex has travelled to do it
Rogan doesn’t travel for anyone. They have to come to him
Rogan isn't allowed to have him on
….you should ask them, I’m sure they’d love to let you know, probably work around you next time 😐
“Ivory Keenan” 😂😂😂😂😂 damn Dana. 😂
One of, if not the best podcast episode I’ve listened to and I’ve listened to a lot. Much respect to Dana after this 🙌🏼
Dana White has helped evolve martial arts more in the last 30 years than in the last 1000 years. Compare the best martial artist from the era of UFC 1.. to the best today.. and it’s a night and day difference. Thank you, Uncle Dana.
That chocolate elf fight must have been something else!
