You can't really say it's Europes most unpopular airline, when it's the biggest in Europe and the 4th Biggest in the World
that doesn't make it the best... never onetime, hard landings, all they care about is money... don't treat staff well as they prefer to be super budget than taking care of staff

And yes, every company only cares about money. LH, BA, AF, KLM, IB or every other European airline that isnt gov owned needs to make money.

I bought an extra legroom seat and the seat was actually regular. Now I realize the whole idea of their scams. Of course did not inform me, did not offer compensation and did not reply. Anyway, it was an 80 Euro flight before the "upgrade".

I did read that during the Global Pandemic which effectively ran between March 2020 and March 2022, that airlines were leaving alternate seats empty of the flights that were still in operation.
But Michael O'Leary according to some reports wasn't really prepared to do this with regards Ryanair flights. Whether or not this is actually true I really can't say but given the information we currently have about the man and his character then I suspect it's quite likely.
I also saw part of a documentary about O'Leary and Ryanair that said that many staff including pilots, co-pilots, first officers, cabin crew and check-in staff have often had pay late and that many have worked with the airline simply to get used to the job before joining one of Ryanair's much more conventional competitors like one of the big European or Middle Eastern flag carriers.
I don't think any European airlines did this. You simply can't run a profitable airline without filling up as many plane seats as possible.

To be fair, while Americans love Southwest... Southwest also isn't significantly worse than Delta, American or United. Following the same business model and procedures isn't as easy to get away with in Europe, where at least in economy class, the airlines have a much higher standard. Something like Lufthansa, KLM, or British Airways makes Delta look like easyJet.
I did see a documentary many years ago and they were talking to US citizens who said that they preferred to fly with the European airlines such as BA, Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, Finnair, Swiss air, TAP, Iberia and LOT as opposed to either of the American big 3 (American/Delta or United) as they felt that you got much more value for your money when flying by them.
I can't really comment too much about Ryanair but I have seen the documentary about them and in particular the abrasive Michael O'Leary.
It's like smoking, you don't have to smoke to know that smoking is bad for you. Well I look at Ryanair in a similar way I.e. you have been warned so you really shouldn't complain if you are stupid enough to book a flight with them.
Some people say that it's the only airline that serves where they want to go on holiday. I say well change where you want to go on holiday. There's a big world out there.
I think to call Ryanair the most hated or unpopular airline in Europe is a bit misleading. Ryanair are the biggest budget carrier in Europe, and make incredible amounts of money on their flights. Everyone I know has flown Ryanair, and whether people love them or hate them, they're still buying tickets.
I personally love Ryanair. I've gotten some amazing deals with them, and as long as you play by the rules, you get what you pay for. I once got flights from Manchester to Hamburg for £4 round trip. I also flew to Beauvais once, wouldn't do it again in a hurry, but considering I paid €25 round trip to get to Beauvais, I wasn't complaining.
Considering you can get to Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Czechia and so many more countries for less than the price of a train from Dublin to Cork, I think people are pretty forgiving of Ryanair's service.

the whole of ryanair has lost its way oleary should resign being a less expensive airline is great for the customers and they have many loyal customers but oleary has even treated them like the dog dirt on his boots there customer service is appaling they just will not answer phones emails chat line they are a disgrace and he is responsible once the covid is under control loyal customers will not come back to ryanair lets hope oleary is gone soon and ryanair customer services is cleaned out of no marks who do not care about there loyal customers then we will have our favourite airline back

I hate Ryanair i had a flight today and would have left for a nice vacation but my ID cart was somehow not accapted and so i could not boared the plane there goes my vacation thanks Ryanair reason was because Ryanair and wizz are the only ones with this special rule all others are just fine with it im never gone fly with ryanair again sure its cheap but you take huge risks you gotte even think if your gone go on your flight or on vacation as a whole this happend to me but there are so manny more people out there that just got there vacation cancelt thanks again to ryanair
