DIY Butcher Block Floating Shelves

Did you do anything to seal the butcher block? We actually just bought one to cut into the same kind of shelves you did. I wanted to make sure we prepped it properly. I have some butcher block oil I was going to treat it with after we cut it.

So I didn’t, but it’s not a bad idea to do so. I think I’ll be putting a clear coat on it eventually. We couldn’t decide if we wanted to stain it or not so put them up before any of that. I will say though, they’re holding up totally fine without any treatment.

Don’t trust anchors. Never had luck with any of them
