I honestly tried going to college twice, but it just wasn't for me. So one day I walked into the recruiting office for the Navy 2 months ago actually and now I'm studying for the ASVAB. Next Wednesday I find out when I go to MEPS. I want to do something different with my life and travel the world. Wish me luck!

I don't regret having joined the Navy for one second. I will never say I regret joining the Navy. I regret not joining the Navy reserve after I got out of active duty, I was in almost 8 years. I wasa on a big ship, a small ship and a medium sized shit that was also a supply ship too and I spent my last 2 years on shore duty. So I did alot in almost 8 years in the Navy. God and the Navy gave me a resolve to never give up when I go through adversity. I've survived a stroke, a blood bacteria and cancer. I was always going to survive.
I told my cousin to join the Navy as well and he followed after me and joined the USMC. Not that I wasn't in the Marines and actively told him not to join the Marines. Lol. But seriously though, I don't regret my decision. Soldier, Sailer, Airmen, Marine, we're all in it together. Your enlistment is what you make of it and if your lucky, the units that your in.
Reason why i wanna join the navy is because it's my dream i want to fight for the country, also i wanna join is because the uniform, travel, make money, and live a good life. That isn't a bad decision to go into the Navy and I am speaking from the view point of a retiree from the Air Force. I enjoyed my travels and got to see many places and loved the experiences I had. I got my college degree in History, and Political Science, but did not get into politics. I retired from the state of Arkansas also and believe that everyone should either go to college and then enter a field of work, or go into the military and pursue a career there, and get a college degree while in there.

Congratulations on selecting the “OS” rate to many it’s known as winning the Navy Lottery as as everyone I’ve ever known (including deck seaman who strike for OS) make E5 in their first four year enlistment and at least E6 or better in their subsequent re-enlistment (8 years). At sea 12/12 in port... clean, update your reference material and then get ready for Liberty....all by 13:00 every day 😳, the OS life is GREAT! 👍

I was going to the army but mom got me to talk to my sister’s recruiter and now I switched to the navy. My sister is currently in bootcamp and her job is cryptologic technician but I’m not sure which one tho. Her asvab score was 77 and mine was 51 but I didn’t get to study as much as she did and she just graduated HS. My job list got CTT, OS, HM and AO. I don’t know which one to pick. CTT and OS is neck and neck and I go to MEPS in 07/13/2020. I’m nervous. Wish me luck.

Just do your research on ALL the branches , check out the coast guard as well, before making a decision , my boyfriend was in the marines, it’s a lot more intense in combat than the navy is

Hey, i know im probably really late on this but i got my tattoo after i joined, nowadays they are so lenient on tattoos so i dont think they would make you remove anything, you would simply fill out a waiver during your enlistment process. I hope this helps

Hey, i know im probably really late on this but i got my tattoo after i joined, nowadays they are so lenient on tattoos so i dont think they would make you remove anything, you would simply fill out a waiver during your enlistment process. I hope this helps
