I took the ASVAB and gpt a 93 with less than an hour of studying and the physician said my physical exam was ~perfect. Yeah I took care of myself very well. I spend 1+ hour in yhe bathroom every day

    I have been in the Marines for 22yrs, just Retierd 38yrs old. I’m still young but, my point is this and, I’m not to putting other services down particularly my sister service the Navy.
    A lot of people join the military for something els not knowing the military service you join always puts the mission first. Most Navy Recruter’s allow applicants to run with their ideas and when they actually join it’s something entirely different. Navy Recruter’s need to be straight up with the applicants and not bullshit them.
    I joined the Marines because I wasn’t joining for a bonuses. The first thing the Navy and the Army push in front of them applicants is money and when a deployment come up regarding possible combat all them jokers renege on reasons why they joined the military....smh
    Just like my shipmate stated the “military is a lifestyle”... join for personal growth and achievement.

      No Shade Just Tea For one there’s always conflicts all over this world particularly the Middle East. Your Administration yes you will deploy but, most likely you will be doing things inside the wire meaning inside the base.
      I feel if you really want to be a marine you will do what makes you happy, and your parents can’t live your lifer only you can. I hope I’ve answered your question

      SEVENTEN actually deployments decreased doing Trump’s term up and till Iran wanted to continue shooting at us and they was supposed to be getting rid of terrorist.

    As far as school goes, can you use tuition assistance while in active duty and still use the GI bill once you're out? or is it a one or the other type deal?

    • @KrazyGamerTiger
      @KrazyGamerTiger 5 лет назад +3

      MT sheikh chilli Yup that’s what basically everyone does

    • @tinkamitchell9711
      @tinkamitchell9711 5 лет назад +3

      Yes, I used Tuition Assistance and took classes offered on deployment. It got me ahead in my degree and I used my Post 911 when I got out to complete my degree.

    • @LauraZorza
      @LauraZorza 5 лет назад +5

      MT sheikh chilli, as others mentioned, TA is the norm used while on Active Duty. Some rules are changing this year, 2020. The GI Bill should be used after you leave the military. FYI - There are ways to have 100% of your school paid for up to a PhD.

    Hey can anyone answer how long after you do your ASVAB were you scheduled to go for the physical at MEPS? Also was the practice asvab harder than the actual ASVAB? I take mine monday and I'm shitting my pants. Also what is your rate and when is your ship date, I'm just trying to piece together the time this whole process takes from start to finish! Thanks in advance.

      Julinie Lawrence, varies by individual. How did you do on your ASVAB?

      @@LauraZorza hey i got a 62. Was aiming for a 70 or higher but I'll take that 72. I've also been to meps and passed the physical except for some scratches i have on my hand that they think I've self mutilated so I'm waiting on a psych consult.

    • @LauraZorza
      @LauraZorza 4 года назад +2

      Julinie Lawrence, the 62 is great! Look at your Standard Scores in regards to what ratings you qualify for ... the 62 only means you are eligible to enlist in the Navy 👍

      @@LauraZorza thank you, all the officers at meps told me not to be sad about it, it's a really great score. So even while I'm waiting for the consult I'm researching the different jobs I qualify for and which one suits my personality and that I wouldn't hate right away lol. Thanks!

    Hi, thank you for the heads up it’s all very resourceful 😊. I do have a few questions how are the tests like the exams, the bi annual to annual PRT/ PFA tests like the run the sit up & push up is there another physical. I feel like it’s not always about what we want because like maybe I want to aim for 20 years but what if I can’t even complete the first year due to something comes up is that possible? There’s really so many obstacles & they are our bait trying to see who they can catch it’s hard to get into the armed forces to start with. I heard something about “a happy sailor is a healthy sailor”? Or the balance is “Body Health & Mind”. Let me know what to expect. Thank You 🙏 god bless you ⚓️😇

    • @LauraZorza
      @LauraZorza 4 года назад +2

      Aim33 wonghuan9, advancement exams are held twice a year; every March and every September. The only physical test is the PRT, every spring and every fall. I challenge anyone to substitute the word obstacle with challenge 👍 Serving is definitely worth it... I retired after 28-years 👍
