90 minutes definitely made this season what it was. Everyone was really fleshed out, and I think each starting tribe gave the same quality of content, which is rare. Endgame was wild. Loved how the editors focused on parallels (Emily vs Drew vote, J vs Kellie vote). Ignoring the fact that Hannah wanted to quit (the others didn't know that pre-tribal), he ignored an opportunity to attempt a 3-2-1 vote or at least a 3-3 in order to get majority and instead went on to snitch on Emily to the 3 people on the power position even if he knew he would be at the bottom. For someone who claimed to be a superfan, he was bad physically, strategically and not good at all socially. He doesn't deserve to be back.
Hannah really played one of the most dominant games ive ever seen in reality tv, including Australia, SA, and UK. She had the total control of the game, having 0 dangerous spots through the course of the game. Her threat management and jury management is insane, and the facility that she has to execute plans is like Dan Gheesling levels. She also seemed to survive like 50 days in the wilderness if it was necessary, she was never tired of psycologically affected to be there.
Jake saying “people are playing survivor” during the Kelly blindside was a great line. Also, Jeff stabbing the bag was one of the funniest moments on the show in recent history

1 thing I want Survivor to do (but likely won't) is being filmed outside of Fiji. It's been a long time since the show filmed somewhere else, & when my mom & I (whom are both big fans of this show) saw that Season 46 will be in Fiji again we were a little upset at that. 1 thing that made Survivor so fun to watch was how they went to different locations every or every other Season, but constantly filming in Fiji reduces some of the show's cool factor since it doesn't make these recent Seasons stand out from each other as much. Now Devil's Advocate, after what happened in Cambodia with Caleb, keeping the show in 1 country helps keep the contestants safe, the same crew around, & it's likely a budget saving element for the show.
They also have said how the crew is very comfortable there and the Fijian government gives them production tax exemptions. Jeff personally doesn’t ever want to leave Fiji, and after he’s gone through difficult situations like China, Gabon, etc. I understand why. I always enjoyed the different locations but I enjoy survivor for many other things as well so it’s not the biggest loss in the world
I disagree about f5 being a bad look for Dee tbh. Reading the post season interviews, her rationality makes a lot of sense. She knew Jake had an idol and she felt like he was more likely to play it on himself than Katurah so she targetted Katurah and that’s also how Julie told her she was voting. The assumption that she knew Julie was voting Jake and threw a hinky vote at Katurah anyways is wrong. Dee said that Julie told her she was voting Katurah and she had no idea she would end up voting for Jake last minute so she thought she had 2 solid votes on Katurah. So in her head, even if Austin doesn’t vote with her and Jake plays the idol on himself like she thought he would, it would be a 3-2 on Julie. And in the worst case scenario where she gets votes, it’s a 2-2-1 against her where Julie and Austin would keep her over Katurah on the revote. I’ve seen some people say that she should have voted Julie but if she and Austin had voted Julie and Katurah/Jake voted for her, then it’s a 2-2-1 tie between her and Julie where Jake and Katurah would have all the power at the revote. Overall, I think everyone but Julie had some logic to their decision. Dee’s optical move for the round was definitely to vote for a Belo with at least one of her number ones. Her read on who Jake was gonna play the idol was wrong but that happens. Julie is the one that really bugs my mind. Her voting Jake knowing no one else was voting for him is crazy. It’s truly one of the most complex rounds in Survivor history tho so it’s not as black and white as everyone would assume. Lots of crazy moving pieces. Still easily a T10 winner IMO.

I didn't hate it but I know I will never watch this season again. The Modern era is just bad as a whole. There was nice shocking moments like the Kellie blindside. But in the end there was too much low level gameplay to make it enjoyable. Austin single handedly destroyed both his and Drew's game with his big mouth and heart. Katurah's bad decisions were truly laughable to a point where they made no sense especially with not following through voting Dee out. It had entertaining moments. But very few truly good players. Not to mention 2 or 3 casted players didn't even truly want to be there. Better casting really is key here or else it will continue to slide down hill.
these new survivors series are bs ....you never seen them sleeping in their home made shelters like back in the day or you dont see them practically starving and eating wild life they catch....i just thought about that after the season....it seem so fake now compare to old very first seasons

It's not just a problem of "you should have done better in casting" when 1) This show has a history of recruiting 2) This show attracts thousands of applicants 3) This show's casting process is ultimately in the hands of producers with no explanation or room to dispute 4) Depending on the season, you may have been required to take various psychological tests, bloods tests, have vaccination records ready, etc. IF a producer contacts you(which I assumed Hannah passed) 5) It takes tremendous expense to get them to Fiji and then have to accommodate them for the duration of the season All that for essentially amounting to someone to quit 3 days in, not to mention not due to injury or missing meds but because of a habit, and also quite belligerently and disdainfully too ("OMG, if there is Edge of Extinction, I'm not going") amounts to a colossal PR nightmare for the casting and network at large. Yeah, I'm sure Hannah is a lovely person and doesn't deserve the abuse she got, but i prefer M vs Gx Hannah by a mile.
at the final vote i think katurah assumed dee and julie were voting her, because why would anyone vote for jake if hes playing an idol for himself, austin was immune, and she knows them well enough to know they're not voting each other. she knows jake is voting dee and austin is voting julie. her vote is the vote to force a 2-2 tie with herself and either dee or julie. if she votes dee and the vote is 2-2-1, katurah goes on the revote (austin and julie both vote dee to stay over katurah.) so she has to vote julie because in that tie she stays(austin and jake vote julie out over her). thats why i think jake is more to blame for not telling her he was playing the idol on her than she is for the final 5 vote.
that's a lot of thought for a player who def did not think of that at all. She cost herself the game by not voting Dee. She could not be trusted which is why she had trust issues to begin with. It made no sense to make Jake swear on family and force Dee when she couldn't vote her herself. If she really wanted Julie out, she would've asked Jake to do the same. She literally said she got scared instead of being confident on her decision.

I don’t fault Austin for giving Julie an idol. I fault him for not taking the time to make sure it was the Amulet Idol rather then the Regular Idol

I really enjoyed this season! agreed that it’s probably the strongest of the new era so far. The 90 minutes definitely helped flesh out the cast.

This season is tough to rank for me, as it had moments that were good, but despite that, this season really just fell flat for me
Katurah’s constant whining about Bruce annoyed the crap out of me, way more than anything Bruce could ever do
I think the best Katurah moment was when she said something about Austin’s stupid emotional heart
