This season was the closest we’re ever going to get to having another Survivor: Gabon and I was absolutely here for it. While this season certainly wasn’t the most strategic in the world, this season had such stand-out characters throughout every stage of the game and I think that’s what makes me love this season even more!
My problem isn't Maria's jury vote. She can vote for who she wants to vote for. What I DO have a problem with is that she's fake. Venus was right when she said Maria puts on an act. She clearly has an ego about herself, which is something I suspected even in the preseason. Her reasoning for voting for Kenzie is shaky, and I think her being butt hurt played a large role. She can vote for Kenzie if she wants, but don't bs us and especially Charlie about why you did it.
I agree with most of your thoughts here, I'm probably more positive on the season than most as it is the most standout season of the new era, everything from the final 10 to 7 are top tier survivor, Kenzie, Ben, Charlie, Liz, Q, Venus, Tiffany, Tevin and Jelinsky will be greatly remembered, the pre merge was definitely the worst aspect of the season, don't hate Buanu but I agree his storyline was too dragged out and I'm happy with the Kenzie win here, another amazing video, been watching your videos since 2019 and it's been amazing seeing your content and how passionate you are with your content, keep up the amazing work 💜

I’ve actually talked to Jess and she told me that she was glad to be voted out and prayed for the idol to be fake. She told me that she would’ve rather been voted out and lost than stay on that tribe another two days

The fact that Maria wanted to get rid of Ben (An ally of Charlie) and being unsuccessful, getting rid of Jem and others first basically the whole time just shows how great a player Charlie was. So disappointed that he was so good at keeping his threat level down that no one changed that opinion on the jury
I don’t think the Moriah learning to jump scene was about her, the subtext is that it is about Charlie as he’s the one teaching her and getting confessionals throughout. It clues us in that Charlie is a main character. Same thing with Kenzie comforting Ben. While yes ben does talk about his experience we also see just as much content from Kenzie about it.

I felt like I was going crazy watching people gush about Charlie during the season. Sure Charlie was a good player, a damn solid player, but he was extremely dull on the show, like anti-charisma. Him and Kenzie were pretty close game-wise I felt but I'm glad Kenzie won just based on that alone.
Charlie being the "normal guy" in a group of big personalities, dare I say whackadoodles in some cases, is pretty refreshing. It makes sense why people would gravitate to him, especially for those that like social and strategic blends
that 3 episode stretch at from episode 2 to 4 was genuinely unbearable some of the worst in survivor history which sucks cuz the rest of the season is pretty entertaining i would never rewatch the full season i'd have to skip 3 episodes I loved Q and Venus and most of the cast i enjoyed by the end but those 3 episodes hold it back from being a great season
Liz was a very good lowkey player that would actually have a lot of things to bring up at final tribal. Fully in charge of the Tevin vote, which changed the post merge. She was always a number, and was usually positioned as a swing vote. Her antics and lack of challenge prowess made her less of a threat. She was literally a king maker, being the reason Maria went out at final 5. SHE ALSO LIED ABOUT BEING A MILLIONAIRE so people would see her as less of a threat
The only episodes that were bad in retrospect were episodes 3-4(and even those have Bhanu which is great) and the finale was mediocre. Other then that this season was fantastic. I loved it it’s top 10, debatably top 5
i have the exact same opinions on you about the finale. It’s extremely underwhelming considering how much they built up Kenzie and this dilemma Ben would have between choosing Charlie or Kenzie, only for him to never have to make that decision. I’m still satisfied with a Kenzie win, but not as satisfied as i could’ve been. For me this is easily the best new era season though, considering the accurate game portrayal and the fact the post merge is incredibly exciting it’s a no brainer in my eyes. The pre merge is definitely the weakest part but episode 7-11 especially episode 8 is some of the best stretch of survivor ever.
Siga was my favorite tribe pre-merge I can think of off the top of my head. I loved how kumbaya they were, was very wholesome, but then also Jem idol craziness was fun, Moriah was a really interesting character especially her jumping haha and if it wasn't for Tim this would for sure be my favorite tribe ever.
I felt like Charlie was so Kim spradlin coded in that he was always talking about options and always talking about keeping his options open. His problem is he’s wonder bread. He’s comes across as so basic white girl that it’s easy to dismiss him.
For me it's not the fact that Kenzie won, it's the rationale behind that 5th vote that really bothers me because it's such obvious BS. If a different person had been the 5th vote for Kenzie I'd have no complaints

I liked this review overall but the main part I HATE about when he does reviews is every episode he mentions a scene and he’s like oh yeah it made it so obvious that _ was going home like there’s no way you could just know every single boot from a scene in the beginning of the episode bffr
Episode 3 where Randen gets smited by Bhanu’s God after a prayer montage is genuinely hilarious and makes it one of the best episodes of the season imo😂

Nah all it proves is that its a popularity contest. Very rarely do the best players actually win. Kenzie just sucked everyones ass the entire game. She shouldve been eliminated 3 different times but thanks to unbelievable luck, she escaped.
I think this season is going to age like fine wine. It's never going to be one of the best seasons, but I think it'll be remembered for the good and not the bad. I think the biggest problem with this season is that maybe 1/3 of the episodes really, REALLY did not benefit from 90 or more minutes. Unfortunately, this made some parts feel boring. However, when I view this season as a whole, it is filled with iconic moments and characters that best the rest of the new era seasons. This is a season that will be all over compilations of funny Survivor moments. So, even though there was a lot of mid, this is a season that I'm already looking forward to rewatching in the future. And in all honesty, the Kenzie win only elevates this season. Yes, it was obvious since episode several, but the result still pissed me off more than any other that I've watched live. I'm not even a big Charlie fan. I agree he was boring TV. Buuuuut, some jurors really got under my skin, which made me root for him. But I can't deny that this result made for better TV and will be remembered. It's honestly refreshing to be incensed at a result.

I'm going to argue that because Kenzie won it actually really hurt the season at the very end like the last couple episodes really bend over backwards to try and make Charlie's moves look bad and make Kenzie's moves look good when it very much just didn't seem like that was the case and the fact that Kenzie wins off of two very flukey votes where if the game played out naturally it definitely seems like Charlie would have won one it led to a lot more focus of janu being The underdogs which was so stretched out that it hurt the season while also just not really giving us a good idea because social wins aren't really shown that well in survivor and are kind of boring from a TV perspective in my opinion
Ran through the whole season in 30 minutes. SO boring! Since season 39 (stretching it) it's become almost unwatchable. The Scamdemic destroyed it. There is almost NO emphasis on SURVIVING. Its become so focused on drama that I just can't watch it anymore. They should at the very least change the name to Drama Challenges.
Charlie was not robbed. He didn’t get the votes to win, so he didn’t win. It does not matter a juror’s rational for a vote, they are allowed to vote however they choose. You weren’t on the island so you have no idea what truly happened, you watched an EDITED show. Kenzie won fair and square

i dont consider bhanu to be overedited just with everything that happened, and the extra time in the first two episodes, i think he got a reasonable amount of screen time
Why are you giving credit Charlie for surviving the split tribal? The Nami turned against eachother already and it was mainly Maria’s connections that kept her ally safe.
The finale suffered a little bit from me believing the jury was a lot more bitter than they were. I expected a lot more sour interaction. But overall it was a very entertaining season.
I think this might be the first new era example where production is clearly not excited with the winner, the story was set up weirdly because they didn’t get why Kenzie won - mainly Q and Maria’s vote
Um, no. They showed Kenzie a lot, more so than she probably needed to be shown just for her personality and to make the audience root for her. You’re forgetting about Erika and Gabler who are way under edited. I do think it is strange how they set up from a narrative storytelling perspective the possibility of a tie, with Ben deciding the vote. But the edit also showed that Kenzie “deserved” to win that tie because of her moments with Ben
New era has been wasted time watched. I really should of stopped after 40. It just all feels a little to set up. Casting is really bad. If we go back to the times before season 40, Charile wins the vote easily. Same thing goes for some of the other winners of the new era. Big Brother same way after 22. It has gotten to the point where the narrative is pushed in a certain direction for a specific archetype of player not being able to win anymore. Mainly due to how seasons majority casting ends up with biased jurors to make sure you get a specific winner. I think Gabler was the only player of the new era who production felt had no chance to win, but swayed the jury with one of the best Final Tribal performances I have ever seen.
Erika, Dee, Yam Yam would still win their seasons if it was pre 40, it’s not like useless Xander and dumbass Deshawn, love struck Austin, and clueless Carolyn ever had a chance. Listen to post game interviews, Gabler had a horrible FTC performance but he was already winning coming into it. I mean you can clearly see in the edit his FTC wasn’t all that so you’re clearly biased or something.
Gabler was already winning that final 3 and actively annoyed some of the jurors with his final tribal (I still think his ftc was solid though), whilst Maryanne WASN'T winning coming into hers and flipped votes off of Mike due to her amazing final tribal. Second, we've largely gotten the best option for a winner out of each final three since 39. Tommy was the clear best in 39, same with Tony and 40. Erika ran the 41 post merge, just got a really crappy edit, Maryanne was a scrappy player who made her one huge move and knew how to sell her game to the jury, whereas Mike played it safe and couldn't own his game. Gabler benefited from Jesse being forced into terrible positions in the game, but still got to the end with his only winning final 3, with two players who were also meh, so that was a solid win. Yam Yam was the best positioned of the Tika 3 and was far more effective in the game than Carolyn or Heidi, Dee was once again leagues above the other two, and ran her alliance from early on. Kenzie you can debate, but we know why Charlie lost. He fundamentally didn't earn respect while on the island, and no one saw him as that deserving. His final tribal flipped Liz and Soda into voting for him, but it wasn't enough. Despite what Maria and Q say, they were both leaning Kenzie because they fundamentally didn't respect Charlie as a player. (I still think Charlie would have been a deserving winner but Maria's fire BS is absolutely a lie she invented to spare Charlie's feelings, and is 100 percent not the reason she votes Kenzie, so Charlie wasn't robbed of anything)

Every new era season just seems to get worse and worse. I havent liked a single winner yet. But yeah 46 was god awful. People too busy voting with their emotions instead of recognizing whos an actual threat to win. Kenzie has 9 lives cause she shouldve been gone 3 different times. Bhanu is the worst player of all time. Liz is the most annoying player of all time. Q is just a moron, but i actually didnt mind him lol. I dont get why anyone wanted to vote him out he was the biggest goat of the season not a shot in hell he couldve won. And lots not forget the unbelievable amount of people voted out with an idol or advantage. Just horrible, horrible cast and gameplay. Keep in mind these are my OPINIONS.

Charlie was not robbed. He didn’t get the votes to win, so he didn’t win. It does not matter a juror’s rational for a vote, they are allowed to vote however they choose. You weren’t on the island so you have no idea what truly happened, you watched an EDITED show. Kenzie won fair and square

Why are you giving credit Charlie for surviving the split tribal? The Nami turned against eachother already and it was mainly Maria’s connections that kept her ally safe.
The finale suffered a little bit from me believing the jury was a lot more bitter than they were. I expected a lot more sour interaction. But overall it was a very entertaining season.

I think this might be the first new era example where production is clearly not excited with the winner, the story was set up weirdly because they didn’t get why Kenzie won - mainly Q and Maria’s vote
Um, no. They showed Kenzie a lot, more so than she probably needed to be shown just for her personality and to make the audience root for her. You’re forgetting about Erika and Gabler who are way under edited.
I do think it is strange how they set up from a narrative storytelling perspective the possibility of a tie, with Ben deciding the vote. But the edit also showed that Kenzie “deserved” to win that tie because of her moments with Ben

New era has been wasted time watched. I really should of stopped after 40. It just all feels a little to set up. Casting is really bad. If we go back to the times before season 40, Charile wins the vote easily. Same thing goes for some of the other winners of the new era. Big Brother same way after 22. It has gotten to the point where the narrative is pushed in a certain direction for a specific archetype of player not being able to win anymore. Mainly due to how seasons majority casting ends up with biased jurors to make sure you get a specific winner. I think Gabler was the only player of the new era who production felt had no chance to win, but swayed the jury with one of the best Final Tribal performances I have ever seen.
Erika, Dee, Yam Yam would still win their seasons if it was pre 40, it’s not like useless Xander and dumbass Deshawn, love struck Austin, and clueless Carolyn ever had a chance. Listen to post game interviews, Gabler had a horrible FTC performance but he was already winning coming into it. I mean you can clearly see in the edit his FTC wasn’t all that so you’re clearly biased or something.
Gabler was already winning that final 3 and actively annoyed some of the jurors with his final tribal (I still think his ftc was solid though), whilst Maryanne WASN'T winning coming into hers and flipped votes off of Mike due to her amazing final tribal. Second, we've largely gotten the best option for a winner out of each final three since 39. Tommy was the clear best in 39, same with Tony and 40. Erika ran the 41 post merge, just got a really crappy edit, Maryanne was a scrappy player who made her one huge move and knew how to sell her game to the jury, whereas Mike played it safe and couldn't own his game. Gabler benefited from Jesse being forced into terrible positions in the game, but still got to the end with his only winning final 3, with two players who were also meh, so that was a solid win. Yam Yam was the best positioned of the Tika 3 and was far more effective in the game than Carolyn or Heidi, Dee was once again leagues above the other two, and ran her alliance from early on. Kenzie you can debate, but we know why Charlie lost. He fundamentally didn't earn respect while on the island, and no one saw him as that deserving. His final tribal flipped Liz and Soda into voting for him, but it wasn't enough. Despite what Maria and Q say, they were both leaning Kenzie because they fundamentally didn't respect Charlie as a player. (I still think Charlie would have been a deserving winner but Maria's fire BS is absolutely a lie she invented to spare Charlie's feelings, and is 100 percent not the reason she votes Kenzie, so Charlie wasn't robbed of anything)

Every new era season just seems to get worse and worse. I havent liked a single winner yet. But yeah 46 was god awful. People too busy voting with their emotions instead of recognizing whos an actual threat to win. Kenzie has 9 lives cause she shouldve been gone 3 different times. Bhanu is the worst player of all time. Liz is the most annoying player of all time. Q is just a moron, but i actually didnt mind him lol. I dont get why anyone wanted to vote him out he was the biggest goat of the season not a shot in hell he couldve won. And lots not forget the unbelievable amount of people voted out with an idol or advantage. Just horrible, horrible cast and gameplay. Keep in mind these are my OPINIONS.

@@And1CJ Tony was fine but once we reached merge, it just became the Tony show and nothing else. Fire tokens, endless advantages, old school winners getting taken out immediately (due to the flood of winners brought back from the 30s)…..I mean it was just the epitome of modern day Survivor
