Been doing auto glass since I was 8 years old. Now 35 and I worked on my first FJ today. Your video was a big help. That's a smooth operation you have there sir!
Glad I found this video. Now I know where to take my FJ. Most shops complain FJ’s are too hard to work on and they are not gentle with the top molding causing it to break or bend.
Great job, I installed windshield's for 36 years and you install glass the way I use to, unfortunately due to my health I don't work anymore, but you do very good work. I would recommend anyone to you for glass installations. 👍🏽👍🏽
I recommend to use the OEM top moulding as the replacement parts from aftermarket places usually don't fit correctly. Just my two cents. Great job alfredo !
Sir! I wish I had you to replace mine! The company that did mine did not do the upper trim right, the side panel clips did not reinstall right, did not replace seals like you did, and my antenna took a hit from them trying to install the rubber boot for that over and over. Great job!!👍🏼👍🏼currently have that wind noise so I have to take to some one in San Antonio. It has been to long with this noise! I see what I need to look for when they install things for an FJ.
Great job Alfredo. I live in the central east coast, and most repairmen don't know how to remove the top valance piece, without breaking it on these vehicles.
Love your work! I just did this car today definitely helped me a lot. But the sad thing is when I went to clip on the new top molding my windshield driver side stressed cracked on me..I wasn't even pushing down hard on it.
Your a lifesaver bro! Thanks for posting this! I’m on my way to do one right now, I’ve done about 2-3 before but I was only helping im fixin to do it on my own right now
Hey mate great work, in regards to cleaning the new windscreen we're using a product that we scrub on the ceramic to help remove the thin layer of silicone from when the glass was made. This helps with decontaminating. Because cleaning with glass cleaner isnt enough apparently. Regards from aus.
lpa arcz hey mate cheers from California. Yes we do use f1 betabrade from Dow to remove contamination from the glass. I replace this windshield a few years back prior to the product been available.
nice job I noticed you replaced the top molding with a original Toyota part , I had my windshield replace by Safelite , they used a cheap plastic one that faded less than a year later and finally broke and flew off going down the freeway to bad you are not in my area I would have used your service
I’m glad you were able to reuse that top molding I watched a video where the guy just broke it off it was a white one so I guess the replacement was easier than custom painted
Great job. You finished the replacement in a quality manner. Hope you are staying busy providing good service. A shop worked on my 2007 Fj, but they did not replace the rubber seals and the trim its loose. What do you recommend that I do to fasten the trim so that it's not loose???? I would appreciate any good advice. THANKS.
Champion Windshield Repair a good paddle seam is what I focus on! I seen the urethane application on glass with one seam and failed. Thank you for the question I will upload a video this week emphasizing on my technique on how to apply the urethane.
Great job. Someone stole the top molding from my wife's FJ. Was there in the parking lot, came out after shopping and it was gone. I bought one. Curious on installing - do I just put it where it goes and pop it into the clips? Thanks!
David Leek Thank you for taking the time to watch my video to install it back on you will have to remove I believe to be a white clips that go under the glass and you would also have to clean off the urethane (the glue) that was used to re glue the molding down and then I apply primer on the molding if the urethane you’re using requires it but it all depends if you are using urethane that requires primer but honestly it if you could find a local auto glass shop it will probably be the easiest way, just so that won’t have to go buying tools and materials to install it back on.
Not sure why anyone would steal it. The clips on it break upon removal and it becomes useless at that point. They are non reusable. Unless the windshield was replaced at one point in time and they probably charged the insurance for a new one and just glued the old one back on and eventually just blew off.
MO FO every replacement windshield I have bought comes with new lower molding clips. If you ever needed to save the clips I guess you could save them if needed but you would need a fast cure glue or heavy duty double sided tape.
I want you to come and replace the windshield on my FJ, and my windshield is perfect. Amazing work! I looked because my piece over my windshield is popped up on one side. It must be a broken clip. I feel a little better seeing it's purpose isn't all that important.
Just seen the end where you put the u lip my bad never seen anyone push it in like that and the top moldings I run a bead across the whole way I've had one or two come back from an area where I didn't have urethane
Agreed. I have a 2014 FJ. Right from the factory, the top molding began to vibrate terribly when on the interstate, especially driving into any wind. Of course, it began after the warranty period. I replaced the top molding with a new OEM part, but I ran the bead all the way from end to end. The vibration was fixed. The original factory installed molding did not have the bead all the way, and it vibrated.
I shot a rock in to my own fj windshield. driving down a dirt road at 50, lugs on my mud tires threw a rock out in front of me. it hit the ground and popped up in the air, and I drove right in to it.
Fairly certain you can get the clips as they often break...but.. its not uncommon the top trim gets the clip part broken on the panel itself...youll need a pro for the job as the panels getting broken at trhe clips is common and big bucks to replace...also the adhesive sealant on the top panel is required or it buzzes with the wind
Buenas noches los adimatens para el sellado como el tipo de goma burlete donde se puede conseguir en la USA ya que en Nicaragua (Centro América) no se consiguen
Jimmy Johnson I noticed that as well we put ours on at Safelite before we ever set windshield and then cap it so it don’t move while setting windshield
Yikes a fine knife seems dangerous but you clearly know what you are doing. Cold knife the top moldings comes off in seconds. Never seen anyone float that window before I use u lip on the sides. I also run the bead on the glass just one seem
FJ CRUISER 2013 Moulding Part Number/Description: 75503-35061-AO MOULDING SU O Toyota Of The Desert CA. $228.99 + $Five thirty nine? Tax 20.51 Total with clips attached $254.89 03/20/18. During this segment of the installation 17:50-18:08 a black adhesive? was applied along the inner top portion of the molding. I just snapped mine into place and am afraid to take it back off or is it completely necessary for total adherence to prevent vibration/wind noise. I did learn by taking a pair of needle nose pliers I was able to firmly grab the old brackets still attached to the vehicle and gently pull them in the downward direction to remove easily. Thank you
CRAZE156 It’s definitely recommended to reglue down the molding. I had some cases where the customer comes in with no top molding and It was because they did not apply urethane. But at the same time it was a poor installation altogether.
Thank you also for the Urethane recommendation and for putting this video together very helpful. Also, does anyone know what the FJ in FJ Cruiser reads. Great ride overall seats down sound system in, Cruisin' peace.
Arturo Gatti if you see the video at 13:50 on, you clearly see that the clips are intact, not broken. And if you refer to the white clips on the molding they already come on the new molding. Thanks for watching
You do not need to put urethane on the top trim piece as long as you are using a new trim piece with all new clip. The reason this Fj had urethane on the one he took off was because this windshield had been replaced before and the previous installer did not know what he was doing. From the factory they do not glue the top molding/trim piece. If it is done right you do not need to glue it down.

Martin Evans Thank you. I'm happy to hear that my video was of some help to you. Keep up the good work!
You been a blessing to every glass man in America. Thank you
David Lozano Thank you for your comment. I feel bless my self to be able to share and help my fellow technicians.
I wish there was this level of service where I live
Glad I found this video. Now I know where to take my FJ. Most shops complain FJ’s are too hard to work on and they are not gentle with the top molding causing it to break or bend.
You have done the job as if doing for your own vehicle; very impressed. Well done!
Great job, I installed windshield's for 36 years and you install glass the way I use to, unfortunately due to my health I don't work anymore, but you do very good work. I would recommend anyone to you for glass installations. 👍🏽👍🏽

Bryan Castillo Thank you! Yes we use OEM molding every time, new clips and new antenna rubber boot.
If I lived near Alfredo I would take my FJ to him in a heartbeat. Great work.
Sir! I wish I had you to replace mine! All that plastic eventually become brittle and will break on you. It is one of the worst designs in the history of windshields.
Excellent work! If I lived in that area I would definitely have the work done by this guy.
David Luster what area is he located?
Great job Alfredo. I live in the central east coast, and most repairmen don't know how to remove the top valance piece, without breaking it on these vehicles.
Love your work! I just did this car today definitely helped me a lot. But the sad thing is when I went to clip on the new top molding my windshield driver side stressed cracked on me..I wasn't even pushing down hard on it.
This was done so well. Now I'm scared to have mine replaced by just anybody. Alfredo has it down !!!!!
Your work is superb, the care and attention is amazing! I sincerely hope your business is prospering becase you really deserve it!
Your a lifesaver bro! Thanks for posting this! I’m on my way to do one right now, I’ve done about 2-3 before but I was only helping im fixin to do it on my own right now
That was a masterful job. I have the same 2012 FJ. I want that guy to work on my FJ.
I have a 2012 also
Very professional. Impressive level of professionalism.

Just wish more places did quality work like this.
Great job!
I wish the same. Thanks for watching my video.
Where are you located? I notice a Toyota of Escondido sticker on the windscreen, and that is where I bought my FJ.
+Rezqewr we are in Corona California
Now that is a good job right there. Every detail touched on!
Wow, very professional, I would have you do my windshield any day. Keep up the good work.
nice job I noticed you replaced the top molding with a original Toyota part , I had my windshield replace by Safelite , they used a cheap plastic one that faded less than a year later and finally broke and flew off going down the freeway to bad you are not in my area I would have used your service
I’m glad you were able to reuse that top molding I watched a video where the guy just broke it off it was a white one so I guess the replacement was easier than custom painted
I don’t think he reused the windshield header/top molding. He used a new one.
Excellent and professional service!
Man, I wish I lived near Alfredo. I guess I'm just gonna have to roll the dice with Satellite. At least they ordered new clips.
RedSRTFour thank you. I would highly recommend you to replace the top molding with an original one.
I love the milwaukee tool u use. Great job by the way.
THANKS.
Thank you.
Nice job removing the top molding, what is the part number on the multi tool you used to cut it out with????
Travis Delano I dont think its available,he's mentioned in a another video he made it himself.
hello Alfredo where did you bought your power push gun , thank you.
Service was awsome before the pandemic!
Hi, great video. Have you made the blades available yet and where can i get them from.
cheers
what's the brand of the electric cutter you used to remove the windshield? thanks
Thankyou for sharing Sir! Really nice job!
I see that you had a new top piece (CTR PILLAR from toyota) installed. Is that necessary for this windshield change? also the bottom molding.
Have you produced this tool yet to cut out windshields?
That Milwaukee blade that you used to cut out that windshield with was awesome. What is the name of that tool, and what blades do you use?
What is the general rule on where to start the bead and where not to stop it? Thanks for your Time!
Champion Windshield Repair a good paddle seam is what I focus on! I seen the urethane application on glass with one seam and failed. Thank you for the question I will upload a video this week emphasizing on my technique on how to apply the urethane.
Alfredo's Auto Glass Repair Corona thank you for your time!
I know who to call when I'll need someone to replace the windshield on my FJ. Did you need a wiper puller to remove them?
Richard Lanouette most definitely if you ever need any Auto glass give me a call. No wiper puller was needed.
Thanks for the video please give a heads up before you use the multitool
How much did you charge for the whole job bro? And did you have to get the top peice and clips too?
Great job, I work in car windshields
hello Alfredo where did you bought your power push gun , thank you. and REF? from milkwakee?
Great job. Someone stole the top molding from my wife's FJ. Was there in the parking lot, came out after shopping and it was gone. I bought one. Curious on installing - do I just put it where it goes and pop it into the clips? Thanks!

Hello! What an amazing video! Just per curiosity, what is that solution that was mixed before use? In between glass and silicone?
Mohanned Sahi thank you. It’s primer for a good bonding.
what happen to the side moldings? i see we just went open face willy?
Bro you make it look so easy when is complicated AF
Can you make a how to tutorial on how the attachment works on the Milwaukee tool ?
I came up with the special attachment to be able to use the tool. I'm working with a manufacturing company to sell them.
+Alfredo's Auto Glass any update on the attachment for the saw?
Wow, you did a great job. I have an FJ and every place I take it to there is always an issue. You wouldn't happen to be in Texas?
Text book you deserve a raise.
MO FO thank you. 👍
On the lower windshield black moulding are the fastning clips on the windshield? Are the clips savable?
MO FO every replacement windshield I have bought comes with new lower molding clips. If you ever needed to save the clips I guess you could save them if needed but you would need a fast cure glue or heavy duty double sided tape.
What are the sizes and weight of the original glass?
Beautiful work.
I want you to come and replace the windshield on my FJ, and my windshield is perfect. Amazing work! I looked because my piece over my windshield is popped up on one side. It must be a broken clip. I feel a little better seeing it's purpose isn't all that important.
Please get the clip replaced. Eventually you'll lose that moulding at highway speed, and it'll either smash your windshield or fly off the truck.
So where are you willing to work? Santa Ana California? I have an 2013 FJ cruiser that needs a new windshield.
Ud tienen una sucursal aqui en Fort Lauderdale?
Just seen the end where you put the u lip my bad never seen anyone push it in like that and the top moldings I run a bead across the whole way I've had one or two come back from an area where I didn't have urethane

kris21382 thank you, the cut out tool is a Milwaukee oscillating tool and the setting tool is the little buddy.
Alfredo's Auto Glass Repair Corona oi

Hi i bought the milwakee tool. But the blades dont fit. What configuration did you make?
I just had my FJ done & Safe lite didn’t put on new rubber bottom trim
Hello i have a FJC and i would like to change the windshield. i really like your job. Let me know where are you located i can go there
thonytadino I would be more than happy to help you with your auto glass needs. We are located in Corona California.
Why didnt you show how to release"break" the inner clips on the corner panel?
Man, you sure are a good tech.. whay cut out tool was that you used to cut out the fj cruiser?!
christopher lozano thank you. It a Milwaukee oscillating tool.
very nice work !
I shot a rock in to my own fj windshield. driving down a dirt road at 50, lugs on my mud tires threw a rock out in front of me. it hit the ground and popped up in the air, and I drove right in to it.
What's the name of that battery powered cold knife? Part number?
Hey Alfredo, that top molding has to be replaced if removed correct?
MrTwista Is it possible yes but not often. We include OE molding on every replacement.
fantastic job.
wow nice job man well done :)
Nice work!
good install
Wow! Nice work! Wanna come to Canada and do mine? 😉
If my top windshield trim has come loose, can I just buy new clips somewhere, or do I need to get a brand new trim?
Fairly certain you can get the clips as they often break...but.. its not uncommon the top trim gets the clip part broken on the panel itself...youll need a pro for the job as the panels getting broken at trhe clips is common and big bucks to replace...also the adhesive sealant on the top panel is required or it buzzes with the wind
geezers! Toyota sure doesn't make it easy!!!!
still the same since the first fj came out.

Could you please come do my glass on my fj cruiser?
where do you get those Blades for the Milwke
Got them from equalizer tools in Texas but I made a special attachment to be able to use them.
It looks that you forgot the side moulding of the glass, u should have put them before the installation, it will be easier.
Jimmy Johnson I noticed that as well we put ours on at Safelite before we ever set windshield and then cap it so it don’t move while setting windshield

Супер,! Super 👍👍👍👍
You forgot new side mouldings on the glass, people are easily impressed
Now I see mouldings going on after glass install those will fall off LOL
Travis Smith really!!!
Nice work on an fj they are one of my least favorite windshields to install.

surprised to see the white plastic clips above the windshield were broken off, not unscrewed and then, not replaced.

All of the cowl clips NEED to be replaced after the installation…
Sometimes you could save the ones under the hood but all the other ones yes replace every time.
Why don't pick up the phone 😩😩 it might be an important call 😐😏😏
What an abomination for the windshield world. I won't be upset to see none of these piles on the road. Glad Toyota discontinued making them
You do not need to put urethane on the top trim piece as long as you are using a new trim piece with all new clip. The reason this Fj had urethane on the one he took off was because this windshield had been replaced before and the previous installer did not know what he was doing. From the factory they do not glue the top molding/trim piece. If it is done right you do not need to glue it down.
This is not true
Toyota also urethaned the top
