Thank you, I needed this tutorial. Had my windshield replaced and two week later my molding blew off on the highway. They obviously didn’t do it right. I appreciate you making this video!
Very much appreciate your videos! You have a great way of filming and explaining how you do things! Makes it a lot easier for guys like me who is very Non-Mechanical when it comes to working on any vehicle!! So Thank You and please keep making more video's!
Appreciate your video. Been putting off replacing mine as I hadn't seen any in depth guides on how to do this. Thank you, looks like I know what I'm doing this weekend.
Thank you for the information. Lost mine two days after I left the dealer who installed. Looks like they did not put any sealant. They got me a new moulding (free of course ) and now I am trying to get my labor $ back. I will install this weekend.
Thank you Sir! Just had ours blow off last week and was perplexed on how that even went back together. We had the windshield replaced a few weeks prior, and it appears they broke the clips and just glued it back on hoping it would stay…it didn’t.
It flew off on the highway. If you cut the adhesive at the front, you can push in with a flat blade to where the clips are and it should pop the molding off.
Editing is great! especially how you edited out you screw ups the big hammer and dent. My only question is why did you remove the millennial hand condoms @ 8:08?

$250 for this trim piece is insane
There are plastic replacements for $80 ish, that do work, and on Amazon the Toyota part is around $180
Hello where did you order replacement clips?
Thank you!!! Very helpful!
Thanks for the video, I'm curious about something. Mine has a bunch of blank gunk all along the top. Is it the silicone?
Nice work, thanks 🤙🏼
where do you find the install directions i saw in this video?
From the factory service manual I found by searching Google
Now that you have it installed for a bit, has it stayed on well without flying off?
Yes it has. No issues.
Great video but how did you get the molding off?
It flew off on the highway. If you cut the adhesive at the front, you can push in with a flat blade to where the clips are and it should pop the molding off.
@@gaving4359 Appreciate it!
Part number of the clip you taking about ?
Shows on the video.
I can’t find the screws anywhere
What is the purpose of the adhesive?
It probably needs it. The shop manual says to use it. The wind pressure and vibration at that spot is very high.

How many clips are needed?
When you buy the clips from Toyota, they come as a set of four. The colored clips on the trim came with the trim piece.
Hold the phone sideways.
Very helpful! Thanks for sharing!
Hello where did you order replacement clips?
Bought them from an on line Toyota dealership. Just Google oem Toyota parts and a few will show up.
