  • This film is a remake of the classic Twilight Zone episode, "The Howling Man," which I produced, directed and acted in as part of my duties at St. John's and Fordham Universities. It was produced, WITH PERMISSION, for strictly INSTRUCTIONAL PURPOSES and NO MONEY is being made. "The Howling Man" is one of the most profound and popular of all Twilight Zone episodes and has always been one of my personal favorites. It is about an American on a walking tour through central Europe who, in the words of the great Rod Serling, "confronts a problem that has tormented mankind since the beginning of time." "The Howling Man" was shot at the hauntingly beautiful St. Nicholas of Myra Orthodox Church in New York City. Thanks to all my actors, crew and contributors who made this production a success.

I am a Twilight Zone purist. I hate most of the reboots (the movie was ok). The Howling Man is probably my favorite episode and I have to say you did a great job with it!

Can't believe it!! My all time favorite. I recorded a TZ marathon and watched every one. I had about five that blew me away, but howling man was phenomenal. Wherever there is war, he is there! Those lines, were amazing. Then, the transformation of the prisoner into the devil as he passed behind the columns. YOWSA!

If I had been the one overseeing the howling man, I would have installed a chain and padlock setup around the staff to prevent some idiot from removing it. The staff seals the door, the padlock seals the staff.

Some things should not be redone. The original Twilight Zone episode starred John Carradine. He played Aaron the brother of Moses in the blockbuster film "The Ten Commandments" lending credence to his role in this episode as Jerome. His booming deep voice can't be duplicated. The original episode was black and white lending an air of authenticity to the story. A Rod Serling masterpiece.

John was a great American actor! (film tv stage) Excellent in every part he played...regardless of the genre: horror, drama, westerns, even comedy. I really enjoyed his portrayal of a demented and perverted mad scientist in 'Everything you always wanted to know about sex' (but were afraid to ask)

Agree 200% rdaystrom. I really liked the original. Studios are so greedy that they will squeeze awful remakes to death. As they did with The Honeymooners. They even changed Ralph and Alice''s, Ed and Trixie's race, lol. They need to leave classics the way they were and leave them alone. The Three Stooges, The Little Rascals, etc they all failed..The remake horror movies are just as awful as the remake shows. The Wolfman, Lon Chaney Jr...Benicio Del Toro made and acted in the remake, badly. The Invisible Man, Claude Rains. Chevy Chase played the remake as a stupid bad comedy. Frankenstein, Boris Karloff. Not even Robert DeNiro, playing the monster saved this remake of the movie. I hate remakes of classics.

      * Seriously, rdaystrom? So people are not allowed to do remakes as projects because you don't like them? This was an EXCELLENTLY done remake on a very low budget. I would LOVE the opportunity to do this for my college project should I go back. Always a credit, a nod, and a sincere display of appreciation to the original artist to do a remake like this. Rod Serling would have enjoyed this. Have you done any acting, writing, producing and creating lately? Would love to see some projects of your own instead of criticism. Also if you hate remakes of classics, why are you here? No one forced you to watch this and complain about it. Laughable ;) Oh LOOK....just checked out this person's channel. NO CONTENT. Surprise, Surprise! haha :) No videos of their own. Feel free to check out mine as I've made videos of my own at least. Also have 13 years of videos on Singsnap as songirl77 if you care to look into creating videos singing. Better than criticizing others' sincere efforts at acting, writing, and producing. Please get some content on your RUclips channel. Also check out my 70 playlists if you are too bored to add any content of your own.

@Constance Keller * 100% agree with you, Constance. A real credit to the original series, to Rod Serling, and to newer generations who are just now discovering the original brilliance of THE TWILIGHT ZONE and Rod Serling. Thanks for your help in bringing attention to this very talented remake of this wonderful classic episode. Rachel in Nashville :)

@@paulhunter1525 I agree, that's what made the original episode better than this one. This one isn't bad, but the original had the members of the order with longer beards and robes, and Jerome should've had whiter hair and longer beard, like you said. And this church is beautiful, but the original was in a castle, and the way they talked too. All of these things made the original really seem more like a more ancient sort of order removed from the world. Jerome of the original really looked and sounded like he belonged there, this Jerome I could almost see him going home to his wife and kids after his afternoon at the church/order. Sorry to anyone else reading this who disagrees, it's just how I saw it

    * EXCELLENT JOB!! Thoroughly enjoyed this! Thank you for sharing! Have made my own videos for 13 years on Singsnap and some get on RUclips, and it is one of my Dreams to make a short film. I've taken one acting class and done some voiceover acting with 3 radio ads here in Nashville, and have traveled and sung with Gospel groups, and have sung at al types of events for over 20 years;) They have some local filmmaker meetups on the meetup web site, and I'm hoping to get in on that as soon as this virus is over. Seems to be a lot of opportunities here in Nashville's with the indie filmmaking situation. Thanks again and God bless you and yours ;)
