I've never seen or heard Rod Sterling sound this... normal. Maybe I haven't watched enough Twilight Zone but he seems so conversational in this opening 😂
It’s up there for me. top 5 probably, but hard to rank. To Serve Man and time enough at last are better. Invaders. So many great ones. I’ve watched this episode so many times I go back and forth on the older woman actor’s performance. It’s definitely horrible, but I switch between it being funny bad or cringingly bad. I think the latter wins by a hair. It definitely is the worst aspect of this episode.
Reminds me of the extreme heat the world is experiencing and how the Earth is getting hotter. Scary. This is a great episode if you can find it to watch. Rod Serling was a genius. He had great insight.
So the only thing that could do something like this is a black hole passing through the inner solar system. The planet is also Tidal Locked it seems as well hence the lack of darkness. Definitely not a good situation to be in lol.
No offense intended, but Doomsday scenarios where there's looting, violence, and social chaos had been a sci-fi convention before Serling came along. Best wishes from Vermont 🍁
I don't exactly know where I stand on global warming, but the idea that the world is getting hotter and we can't do anything about is terrifying. Makes us feel so helpless.
“Even at midnight its high noon” the writing was so awesome in this show

Aw man, you're in for a treat!
Rod Serling was a Legend.
ROD SERLING ... THE DEFINITION OF CHARISMA!
This may be the best introduction to an episode ever
This is probably my most favorite episode of twilight zone. 🌞
Even my favorite episode that relies on a strange weather that is as hot as a frying pan compared to Texas in the Summer.

Chills... nobody delivers them like TZ.
The only logical explanation for today's 90+ degree weather 😰

And its fiction like in the series
Dont be so gullible
One of the longest intro lines delivered by Rod Serling before the screen faded to pitch black
It’s FAR shorter than his intro to “It’s a Good Life”.
Coldest day in Las Vegas
least hottest day in arizona:
Rent day earth caught fire
Very prophetic. 🔥🥵
The Earth isn’t moving closer to the Sun-unless I missed something in science class.

This inspired me to make a parody video on my channel
this should've been made a movie instead
There is a movie with a cliffhanger ending.
Summer 2023 feels like it
Insight? Or did he see the plan because he's in the club?

Possibly 🤫😮
Needs bacon to be a club

Need an Earl to be a sandwich
...sound familiar?😂
Rod Serling appears to have predicted - if not unintentionally conceived of climate panic
No offense intended, but Doomsday scenarios where there's looting, violence, and social chaos had been a sci-fi convention before Serling came along.

The episode is based on a short story by Richard Matheson.
Global Warming!

Well then read Michael Chrichton’s “State of Fear” or Nigel Calder’s “The Chilling Stars” and you won’t feel compelled to worry anymore.
Scientists wrong again.
Scientists aren’t proclaiming that the Earth is moving closer to the Sun.
You are all going to regret this
