  • Join me for the latest of my flight reviews as we check a great example of a domestic flight across the Tasman as we take Air New Zealand's daily NZ681, a morning Airbus A320 service (Tail no. ZK-OJQ) on the 1 hour and 15 minute flight between Wellington and Dunedin.
In this review I offer my thoughts on Air New Zealand's domestic all economy class Airbus A320 jet services and offer my observations about this flight including the aircraft and in flight service. Also why I'm at it I seek to show some great views as we takeoff out over the Cook Strait from Wellington and again as we descend along the spectacular Otago coastline on landing into Dunedin!
    In this review you'll see:

Thanks so much for watching, yeah the trusty ol’ Kathmandu travel gear. You can spot an Aussie or a Kiwi from a mile away anywhere in the world we usually all got the same stuff from Kathmandu! 😂

How calmly efficient aviation operations are in NZ.
Great earthquake resistant Wellington domestic terminal buildings too.

Thanks for watching mate! Generally think I agree with you on that one I have had no issues with flights that where within the airlines or airports control on my last two visits to NZ this year and before. Only real delay I encountered was a couple hours once in Wellington when heavy fog wouldn’t lift in Auckland but nothing you can really do about that one! Any time there has been expected weather concerns I was noticed of potential disruptions well in advance which seemed much more organised than Australia. I do get a bit surprised though that there is no security still for the Dash 8 and ATR flights out of major airports that wouldn’t happen in aus capital city airports or major regional airports! Thanks for the insight about the earthquake resistant terminal certainly a necessity in NZ!

Great video - ditch the music though....

Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback i will certainly take it on board! Not sure i will ditch music completely but i suspect i will aim to use less of it in future. Sometimes its unavoidable though if commercial music is playing in the background at the airport or on the street or on the plane etc as if its not muted can be detected by YT in there copyright checks so I would rather just play it safe with YT music on those occasions.

Thanks for watching and your feedback - certainly something to look at! I tend to Remember unfortunately Air NZ do play a lot of very noticeable music that likely will trigger Content ID in the cabin before takeoff and after landing so some times I have no choice but to silence and sometimes substitute it but yes i think I might be changing my music strategy in the new year to professionalize it a bit more!
