I’m interested in the three valve shocks, anti-swaybar delete and the dynamic on road retrofit to existing L663s…. From motortrend: “6-D” hydraulic suspension system featuring tri-valve shocks that are probably the most important upgrade of all. The first two valves are the kind you’ve heard of before, controlling compression and rebound damping at each corner. The third valve is what separates it from the likes of the Rivian R1S. That last valve disconnects its damper from the other three as needed. It’s the hydraulic equivalent of disconnecting the anti-roll bars.

It looks very nice, but I can't say that it tickles my fancy. Personally, I'd much prefer if they created a version that had manual transmission. That would give me far more pleasure than any Octa button on the steering wheel where the Defender's computer does things for me. I want to use my own 'computer', i.e. my brain, even if it is only the level of a 1980s Atari computer - if that.
Interesting... will a manual gearbox be a thing of the past now... and of course with electric cars there is often no gearbox. Auto gearbox is good for the manufacturers as it limits the load you can put on the engine and the drivetrain.
Hi Simon, I’ve seen a video that states the exhausts are subtle in design & angled into the underside as opposed to look at me on the supercharged with 2x twin pipes sticking out, are to help with the off road road departure angle so no exhausts can ground out … It’s a fantastic car & although I’ve only had my 90 2 months with added accessories from your company, thank you, the Octa in that colour with those 20” wheels (restricts the top speed compared with optional 22”) is my absolute dream SUV let alone Defender! I love it & thank you for the review.
Yes i am loosing sleep if we buy an Octa or not... on one hand it is clearly over priced... on the other hand it is a marvel of engineering. I would leave out the rear aircon... leave out the sunroof... leave out the chopped carbon....leave out the fancy pants sound effects in the seats... just give me the new engine, the 6D suspension, the twin snorkels and the paint colour !
Oh no Simon…. You have to keep the carbon fibre & the sunroof (no roof rack though) for the limited edition model… The Octa is the best 4x4xfar now both on road as well as off it! 😅

Think what else you can get for £170,000 or how much that much invested could return annually. Fools and their money are soon parted. It’s a Defender for goodness’ sake! We have speed limits and this sure isn’t a sports car. Save a £100,000 and buy an X-Dynamic HSE.
You raise a good point - actually The Stig is a great drive on and off road and looks cool too - only cost £50K.
@L663 but can you drift on the Nuremberg like a sports car? I still don't know who this if for, why not get a shooting brake that has a v8. Lord knows you can't go that fast off road.
@@peopleschamp7258 If you are a wealthy American or a drug dealer, you can now drive really fast to Mohab, and go off-roading ;) While the rest of us still suffer under the 20mph speed limit in towns...
@@L663 I guess that most of these will end up in the Middle East where some people have no idea of the real value of money or the value of anything really.
What about rattles and bad workmanship not to mention mechanical failure surely
It’s just a standard defender with some extra body kit and some carbon fibre literally can’t see why that is £180,000, you will struggle to keep it and it will be vast to insure it just for the super rich again
I do worry that Land Rover is trying to make itself into a hyper luxury brand..... this will make the cars out of most peoples reach... which would be a bad thing...
@@L663 Indeed. And it's bad enough already, as all the yuppie flutubers are turning them over to overlanders and had affected the price to be more expensive.
Dont see the point in a car with such a high speed when you cant use it!!! Pointless.
This is the case with many new electric cars....
True what they say, it costs a lot to look cheap. Personally not a fan of it.
Is this the first of April, you would need to be a fool to stump up for this yuppy wagon
It is no joke.. but it is really really expensive...
You would need to be barking mad to drop £200k on this
I find it far more interesting than a Ferrari.
Indeed i could buy a whole farm in France for this money !
@@monzarace if you want to loose £100k in 12 months go ahead
Absolute joke! It's supposed to be a off reader, not a car for bellends and gangsters molls to go to M&S in
I think you are out of touch... they go to Waitrose not M&S
sorry it's still junk!!
Harsh ...
