You are a brave soul to cut that by hand. I am spoiled with my cnc plasma cutter. I did something similar. I worked for a company that sold artificial fireplaces that used cans of sterno for the fire. I made a dragon head out of perforated steel rolled it and put the sterno inside. It looked like a fire breathing dragon. The head was pointing up and the mouth was open. Thanks for the video!!!!!!!😃😃😃😃😃😃
LOL, yeah it was pretty tricky and I'm glad I was smart enough to practice a bit before attempting mine. There is a definite loss of detail with the plasma cutter but moving fast helps a lot and not trying to get every little line helps. I played with the different cutting tips too to see which one was easier, I went with the non shielded tip. That dragon fire pit sound cool and right up my alley. Yeah I wish we had a CNC plasma or laser, maybe in the future. Thanks for the watch!
@@wayofthewrench I tell people that cutting free hand with a plasma cutter is like drawing with a big fat crayon. You just can not get the detail. With the CNC it is better but if the lines are to close they will melt together. If you lived closer, I would give you a CNC. I bought it as a backup. It has a 24" table just like my first one. New but never used.
Yeah that's a good explanation....a big wide crayon. CNC is the boss! My old job was everything CNC but now I don't have one. Maybe next year I can figure something out for the shop. Dude...that would amazing except I live in the great white north. Shipping alone would be brutal.....where are you in the world?
Thanks Stephen! It's just the experience you're seeing, I've been at this stuff for 30 years and I like to keep learning and honing my skills. Just like anything, the more you practice....the better you get. Thanks for the watch!
Very nice project. I have neither a plasma nor a wire feed welder but similar principles can be used on a silhouette fire pit where a regular stick welder and acetylene torch can be used. Albeit I would have to take to a welding shop to get it rolled.
Yeah you can definitely adapt this project to suit what welding equipment you have. Even the rolling can happen if you have a large pipe or round object that you can clamp your material to and hand form it around. You'd be surprised how thick you can bend this way. Thanks for the watch!
Yeah that could have been easier to follow my template but it was still hard to not lose the details as it was a bit too intricate. in the end, it turned out amazing and is part of my living room decor. Thanks for the tip and the watch!
The ground clamp? As long as the table is electrically conductive, you can put the ground clamp anywhere on the table or the work piece. You also don't want to cut through or damage the ground clamp with the plasma cutter/MIG welder. Thanks for the watch!
Yeah my blending skills were definitely used to hide the seam in this project. I almost made up a air saw with a polishing stone! I went by Captin the other day and it's gone....just piles of debris now. Thanks for the watch Tom!
Ray and I went by and took some pictures a few weeks ago while the heavy equipment was tearing the place down. Sad, but I'm ok with it. See you around.

North west Wisconsin.
Very nice! You make it look easy.

looks cool! kind of looks like a forest fire though!
Yeah just like sitting at a campfire in the woods. Thanks for the watch dude!

you could use an offset gauge on the plasma cutter to see wath you are doing. Nice project

@@wayofthewrench Thanks for the reply
What do you make with a plasma cutter? Just curious.
@@wayofthewrench Clean plasma cutter
I LOVE THIS THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you! Glad you liked the project, it is really nice lit up....it looks like your camping. Cheers!
Only you can prevent forest fires.
And this is hot!
Looking at this lit up, it kinda looks like a mini forest fire or at least like your camping. Cheers!
@@wayofthewrench that's what I was thinking exactly. It's really nice.
Thanks Bruh!
What shade were you using.
It's a shade number 5 on the face shield. Thanks for the watch and welcome to the channel!
Why do you put the clamp on the edge of the table?

S says “I like it!!” And M says “ohhh fire!”
I'm happy to hear they like the project. Thanks for the watch!
Tasty!
Fires on, get yer hotdogs and marshmallows on!
Nice, but Why did you not make 2 of them in one Time ...
Thanks! Yeah I could have for sure but I made one and gave it to my wife. Thanks for the watch!
@@wayofthewrench Thanks for the Video!
No worries!
Good thing you spent all those years repairing erosion on dies to be able to dress that weld. lol
