First thing first is turbos since mine have wastegate rattle and need to go ASAP. Inlets because I bought the 17t turbos which require 2 inch inlets.
Outlets just cause 🤷♂️. All of the cooling system because I wanted to get it done and not worry about it ever again. But its an N54 so nothing ever lasts sooooo yeaaa! Enjoy the longest video I've ever published so far.

@@streamJesuss turbo failure won’t blow the engine dummy, only thing that determines that is the tune. Detonation blows motors.

Finally a video for most who want to budget on the turbos. I’m looking at the pure stage 2 right now but man these are cheaper. 🤷🏻♂️
If you are spending that kind of money I would just go single turbo
"Oh they're from China so they'll fail...!?!?!...." I've had mine on for 2 years/23k miles and there's zero shaft play and wastegates still solid. Same for many others. Some of the big $$$ turbos are just rebranded Chyna anyway ;)

@@SwapDepot please do so I know in the future if it’s worth getting these turbos knowing they will last more than 1000 miles
Average life of those turbos is 3 months. I seen some people really baby them and get years but as far as the guys running them at the track every once in a while about 3 months. We know the center cartridge is built like crap because when they blow it's usually one or the other not both the same time. Suggesting that quality control issues maybe somebody should look into rebuilding the center section.

Good content, like the walk through video, trying to source out a n54 for myself but they are alittle inflated in price as people are starting to discover them.
Trying to find one with lower kms with a 6speed manual and 12 index injectors, and some of the other preventative maintenance that’s already been done like all the plastic crap that cracks, coolant lines ect.

Imo find one low mileage and do it your self my friend bought a 335i with n54 he had many problems with it and he was like f it and rebuilt the engine mostly just scrapping cleaning and replacing bolts with brand new arp bolts studs etc he did run forged internals because the engine was beat out when he got it and now he’s planning on making a insane 600-700 whp setup he’s just playing it safe and waiting for more money to get 8.8 axles and custom piping for exhaust manifold and stuff so idk why I wrote all that but get one and watch hella vids of people just installing parts or talking about the engine if your ever doing any work on it follow a vid and do it unless your a machanic then you will know what to do🤷♂️
@@mark_m1 I did actually find one, had it for about a year and sold it, it was a e92, but in the end I wanted the e90 body style lci.
It was a fun car and I can definitely see myself getting another one if the right one pops back up.
Wife currently has an x5 and I enjoy driving that for the time being.

Cardboard on both sides will save the radiator, just use painters tape, no residue

I went with the same turbos, more than 16,000km on them and still running strong at 23psi!

@J B tuned by JSR on e40 with just a walbro 450 in the tank. no other fueling mods apart from a drilled fuel rail.
@J B oh man it'll be an absolute rocket on a 1M, but i feel like a special car like yours deserves something better than eBay parts. regardless, i was able to achieve 491whp on a revision that wasn't final. video is on my channel if you're curious :)

did you re-use the oil pan bolts? i've seen mixed info on if they should be replaced when doing a oil pan gasket. Any help is greatly appreciated
New bolts, aluminum bolts always get replaced

great content 👍 I've installed viv 17t and had the flaps adjusted prior to installation, I do have some wastegate rattle when decel from around 2 to 1500rpm does yours do the same? I already checked vacuum hoses and even changed boost solenoids.
No wastegate rattle with my set

The outlets has the same size of the stock turbos or is bigger the n is gonna be necessary upgrades the outlets????
Inner diameter is bigger but fits stock turbos, it’s not necessary but I did mine just to see how high I can go as far as HP for these turbos

Do I have to disconnect the battery before removing anything?? Already started doing this removed everything , all I need to do now is remove the water pump and thermostat and I will have full access to the turbos and feed lines but before I remove the water pump and power supply to it , do I have to disconnect the battery?? I didn’t think much of it at first but now I wonder if I need to, thanks in advance

Should I get these turbos for my fbo n54 335i if I just want to stay around the 500whp mark? Do I need any other supporting mods for this or are the 2 inch inlets enough? Also I’m running 93 octane. We don’t have ethanol in my country
You just need 2 inch inlets and custom tune
stock turbo's on these handle that maxed out and a tune but the td04 17t like he has has more longevity. I have the 19T and changed inlets and outlets etc like he did with mhd They're fun cars.
Hope I don't sound too dumb but I've got N55 eng, can I use 1 of these 17t turbos ???? Know it would be half the house power , But what should I us for a cheaper build, thanks for any help

Exhaust leak or maybe downpipes hitting the subframe
@@SwapDepot jessss thanks for the response :D i forgot to add that there is also some rattle on startup as well. once it stablizes, there is absolutely no rattle until acceleration. zero rattle on deceleration... is it possible the wastegates are bad? its odd because we tested the wastegates before installation and it closed with the appropriate amount of vacuum.
Could be but very slight chances if they are new

Pure turbos are good, I personally wouldn’t spend money on them just because at that point I would be saving for a single turbo kit
@@SwapDepot I feel that but I kinda of like the driving dynamics of the twins and the almost instant spool. Although my goal is like 550 maybe 6 wheel so maybe a relatively small but still "big single" turbo would give a decently quick spool time and still hit those numbers ? What do you think
6062 precision turbo can spool pretty quick and make decent power

Haven’t gotten a tune yet but yes if you want full potential out of the turbos, you would need fueling support to get the most out of it

Mine is all the oil coating that they put on the turbos so it doesn’t rust during storage and shipping, yours is probably oil leak on the valve cover or the turbos are done

Shorter route to get air and these have a heat shield that’s generated from the turbos, I need to buy the air guide so I can direct cold air to them
Sucking in hot air is true if you don’t have a proper guide to direct cold air to them

No because they have issues as well, go single if you are spending that much money
