the 'for flying' text on the boots is in reference to some Off White high heel boots that say 'for walking' :) also the gold squiggles on the jeans are a reference to a fairly recent Moschino collection that featured a scribble design allover the pieces!
These are the future of the fashion doll market. They prove that it IS possible to make excellent quality dolls for a good price, unlike what Mattel Stans like to say to validate Mattel’s crappy quality. Like these are cheaper than BMR1959 but ACTUALLY represent modern streetwear, have actual painted acessories (something collector label dolls from mattel don’t have anymore, like wth?), NO PIXELATED FACE PRINT (who likes that stuff???), are ALSO FULLY ARTICULATED, and two outfits with the best quality a playline doll can have, while BMR dolls can’t even pull-off ONE full outfit with their tacky logomania, awful color scheme, unpainted accessories, pixelated faces and cheap fabrics. Mattel REALLY REALLY needs to step it up, like, these dolls look better than their platinum label dolls. Awesome review
the difference is years down the line bmr will go up in value barbie always will .These are great but no different to bratz they are a craze will come and go.Does not mean they are not lovely dolls I collected bratz ,But what dolls of mine have gone up in value all my barbie dolls. in boxes.american girl dolls will also hold their value .They have auctions in usa only for barbie dolls I think that says it all.

@@SimoneOconnell Barbie has also been around for literally decades, the Bratz have not been. It doesn't "say it all" except that Boomers have terrible taste in clothing and doll design [seriously, Mattel's dolls are of an objectively cheap quality as of late, even the "high end" "collectible" ones] and are stupid enough to spend hundreds of dollars on something with poor quality. Meanwhile, there are already rare OMGpop dolls worth more than "rare" barbies decades older than them. I think THAT says it all.
Yeah god forbid people liking Things you dont i do think the bmr dolls are great quality and are on Trend but the color scheme is throwing everything off imo thats why im Happy mattel stepping Up their with Barbie extra

The selling point for these dolls is how high quality they are, the presentation, two whole outfits that are separate pieces and are all mostly well made and all for about $30! Meanwhile there are Barbie dolls that are priced for $40 like the "collector" holiday dolls which have cheap fabrics and no articulation. I love Barbie, and I would say I've always been a fan of Barbie over other brands; not that I never bought dolls from those brands but Barbie has always been Integral to my collection. But these dolls are most likely to cause other companies to step up for the dolll audience knowing dolls with high quality outfits, hair and articulation sell. However, I do agree the lack in any real diversity especially in these modern times is a huge mistep. Sure, Skylar and Sunny are "dark" skinned but lack any real proof of authentic diversity. I certainly hope MGA listens to this and doesn't make this mistake again and understands diversity is important. I get these dolls are more so "Fantasy" themed too, but that still doesn't excuse only focusing on European beauty standards. Nonetheless, no new doll line is without it's flaws and I'm definitely a huge fan of these new dolls. I already have 4 if them, I'm just missing Violet and Poppy!

I only read the first sentence. They’re not that great quality, almost every single doll had badly placed inset eyes, took me forever to find them all without oddly placed eyes. The purple one was the hardest, every dress she had had missing patches of sequins or the belt was frayed on her pleather jacket or her eyes were terribly wonky looking. The clothing also has lots of loose threads

I saw the Holiday 2020 Barbie on shelves today, and I’ve got to say that the Rainbow High line is putting Barbie to shame in terms of quality. $40 for cheapo Holiday Barbie, while Rainbow High dolls are $26.99?!?!

Actually! For Monster High enthusiasm people the WW84 "Cheetah" doll deserves a second look at Mattel's capable qualities. I applaud Mattel here in 2020 for a doll so far. The ab crunch seen through that Cheetah suit is quite remarkable. Although these MGA dolls do have multi-outfits that are remarkable also like "Violet Willa's"

@@rexbesong2157 well my comment is still aging pretty good since none of those are as good as rainbow high. The closest one to being good is Monster High but yeah. Barbie Extra, um well they are definitely an improvement but they still look boring, their faces are pixelated, they don't come with a stand, and they are 24.99... And about Barbie Style, yeah the quality definitely looks better, but their fashions are also very boring, so Barbie style dolls are just more pricier dolls with higher quality clothes but boring fashion. Rainbow High are only 26.99 and they have inset eyes, rooted eyelashes, 2 complete high quality fashions, a doll stand, hangers, and just overall more pretty dolls, I mean look at their faces 😍 Barbie should step it up because I like Barbie as a character, but not as a fashion doll 😔
I've found that brushing it out first actually makes them lose a ton of hair. Washing it first helps keep that from being as bad
ALSO BE CARFUL WITH THE HAIR PRODUCT. it's safer to wash out the product because the product can kinda ruin the hair and make it frizzy.
I had the issue with my rubys hair staining my work surface when I washed it. Be careful of none stealing dyes.
The red ones name is Ruby!
The easiest way to open the dolls is to cut away the tape from the side & top of the box then unravel it. It makes getting to the doll way easier
I have to agree that the biggest complaint/critique for this line is the lack of diversity; first and foremost in skin tones, but also in face sculpts. The overall aesthetics of these dolls are so cool, and I want to collect them, but they all are so facially similar that it doesn’t make for as dynamic a display as they could’ve done. Hopefully this line will be successful enough for more iterations, and we’ll get to see them change things up a little!

Yeah, the same face gets a bit old. Imo, it's not even a very nice face. Sometimes they look kinda dead-eyed.
The lower price-point means they had to cut on some other things, in order to keep it near the lower range.
Face-molds are actually one of the most complicated, design challenging and time-consuming steps of sculpting, and doll-making, so by having just the one face-mold, they saved a lot of money that they invested on the articulation, fashions, etc.
I'm hopeful that if this goes down well, they will probably revise the face-molds with the money from the purchase of the actual dolls, or, at least, I hope so! I'd be interested to buy one to collect if the faces were more personality-suited.

@@THENAFERATU Rainbow high faces looks so much like Poopsie rainbow dolls which is ofc from same company, poopsie dolls are much bigger but take a look at some pictures and compare them :) I´m really surprised no one is really talking about this because rainbow high is treated as a brand new idea/thing which to me, are not. Compared to other MGA designs

I love the Rainbow High dolls so much! I do wish they had more diversity, but other than that these dolls are perfect and are a great price.
Glad you pointed out the lack of diversity, which I find super ironic considering the line is called Rainbow High. Hopefully they'll rectify their mistake! Love your review though, tempts me to get one myself. :^)

I love these dolls i get 1 a week i have 2 more to go thanks for sharing i have the same problem getting things on the omg dolls as well i heat up the plastic it makes it easier to get it on the doll
I haven't seen these dolls in person yet. I am also in the UK. I definitely would like one or two. I think they are beautiful but I find their faces very bland. They are not expressive. I prefer the omg dolls. I think the omgs are quite expressive despite having all the same faces, they manage to all look different. I also love the humourous side of the omgs. They are fun. They do make me smile.
I believe the red one is called ruby but I kinda like scarlet more.
But the name "Ruby Anderson" sounds better than "Scarlet Anderson".

Before the video: Oh my gosh! Beauty Inside A Box is reviewing the Rainbow High dolls! They're fantastic and he NEEDS to review them! They're articulated, they have long hair and the fashion (except Poppy's first dress. Mine ripped.) is super high quality!
After watching: That was fantastic! I actually have Jade and Poppy and right when I got Jade and really looked at her I was like "Yo, he's got to review these. I'd be shocked if he didn't."
They also have a website and on the website they said to "thoroughly wash gel out of hair before playing" but just like what he said here, and I agree, all you need to do is just comb it out. If you try to wash it, I can imagine it'd be a total mess if not super careful.
They've also got a good paragraph on the website that tells about the girls personalities too. (Personally, to me they were a bit cringe but that's just my opinion.)

I heard that brushing doll hair while it is hard with hair gel can damage it, but idk. What I do is soak the doll hair in water for 5 minutes and that dissolves the hair gel, it completely removed the hair gel from my rainbow high dolls
@@funsea6548 Alrighty. After brushing it my dolls hair became really soft. I just remember trying to do that with my EAH dolls and the oily hair issue was a nightmare. Obviously the gel in these and the glue Mattel uses is way different. (If anything, I'll take the gel here over Mattel's glue any day. I've had waaaay too many disasters with that.)
It's cool that you found a way to remove it through water though. I'll try that if I can get another from the set. Did you use boiling water? Did the water get into her roots?
@@imabratzgirl no I actually just use regular lukewarm tap water and it works well. And yeah my monster high clawdeen still has hair glue because idk how to remove it

I've been trying to figure out how to fix Mattel's oily hair issue for years. I've tried washing it, baby powder, even pulling off the heads in attempt to remove the glue. Eventually rerooting the hair is all I could think of and it takes a lot of work. I've rerooted 2 EAH dolls and I actually broke one of their necks. "Whyyyy?!"

RUBY. LOL Love your review! I agree these are great dolls, beautiful, but with a lack of diversity that I'd like to see rectified. "Scarlet" is the only one I don't have so far. 😜 I bet you'd like Sunny (yellow) a lot and would love to see your take on her.

I bought Amaya and I would love to get more colors! Probably Ruby, Poppy, and Sunny at the least to have all the warm colors! This line actually has me excited for playline dolls for the first time in a long while.

It happens to me with these girls the same as with OMG or Hairdorables hairmazing or MC2......I love the outfits but I feel they have all the same face, the same eyes....just with different colours, makeups or styles (in case of OMG, MC2 or HAIRDORABLES). However, their prices are better than the OMG.

They finally arrived in your country. It is rumored that season two dolls will include a male version and a pink-haired doll. They also have one were you can try to dye her hair in different colors, but it does not work.
I had the same issue with my dolls and putting on their second pair of shoes! I actually broke the strap on my Violet doll, which you can see in my review of her on my channel. After that I made sure to bring it up in each of my reviews after that (since I reviewed each of them in a separate video).
Yeah it’s really frustrating. Especially since the butterfly shoes were my favourites. My violet dolls shoes are nearly broken too. The plastic has ripped but it’s still just about hanging on. I’m gonna watch your review now!
@@BeautyInsideABox I ended up taking some scissors and adding a little slit in the back of the shoes (like how most other doll brands have) So the straps will comfortably fit around their heel.

surprised they sadly aren't very racially diverse considering they are from MGA, the makers of bratz who are known for their diversity. Still im glad to see good quality play line dolls finally :)

Their Bratz line-up had one doll of each of the four "basic" races as seen by white people - which is actually considered pathetic representation nowadays, but at the time when the best people could get was white Barbie (who was just seen as "normal Barbie") and black Barbie? It was freaking awesome in comparison.
I will say though, they are taking steps towards making Rainbow High more diverse. One of the most recent dolls has vitiligo, which is pretty cool.

Personally I’m not a fan of the look of these dolls, but I did see them in a shop and honestly they made me stop what I was doing, and go look at them. They are very good quality, you can just tell. I adore the clothes however and wished they would sell them separately! Also, they are a pretty interesting set of dolls and stand out from the rest

Just bought five of these today at a Target! I was so thrilled that they were all on sale. Ranging from 30% to 70% Poppy and Ruby were 13 dollars. Gorgeous and well made :)

I have all of them including amaya rayne which I'm sure you will love as well. There's a wave 2 coming with indigo which was missing from the rainbow. Let's hope there's more diversity in wave 2, like Asian dolls and darker skin dolls.
I got Sheryl Meyer (marigold) & Stella Monroe (magenta), and they're both absolutely beautiful!
And I even bought a Poppy Rowan doll for my mom's birthday. My mom loves Monarch butterflies, and Poppy has a lot of Monarch butterfly themes on her so it's the perfect doll for her (and I might get her the runway version of Poppy when the Runway Fashion dolls come out).

I really love the dolls but I’m not sure about the size of the head and the eyes just a bit too big for me they seem to be doing that with all the dogs at the moment I do think she still an amazing doll

I agree that higher quality dolls are overdue. I just wish that two things will also be accomplished, one the diversity increase, and more accurate proportions on the dolls. This aesthetic of the oversized head and eyes does not appeal to me at all. Perhaps this is why I gravitate more towards old dolls (60's & 70's) when they looked like real life humans and had better quality. The concept is greater and the fashions look cute.

You nearly talked me out of them. I have yet to begin collecting them. I’m still on the fence. You got lucky with violet ive seen so many with terrible bangs or poor quality on her dress where her bust was practically exposed because the top was to narrow. You got super lucky ordering them. On the shelf I haven’t found them to be to consistent. ->it feeds my indecision on these. But so pretty. 😅
I agree with wanting to see more mature dolls! Barbie is pretty much the only line i can find right now that doesn't look like little kids.

When I got mine out of their boxes, I washed their hair in water and shampoo. The curls turned into super cute beach wave looking loose curls. Poppy's tight curls in the long strands also stayed pretty tight. Would recommend washing their hair if you hate the glue texture like I did.
This doll line is cool but lack of diversity us really sad. the tan dolls are rare they really pulled a 2012 fashionista

What a shame that they didn't go with seven dolls (yes there are still seven colours in the rainbow) as they could have had much more diversity within the line.

I own Violet and let’s just say that I love her, despite her right earring falling out and having a hell of a time getting her right back on her wrist joint. And yes, she was the most difficult doll to unbox and boil washing works to get all the products out of her hair. I don’t know if I want to get anymore at this time.

I have only poppy, I love her design the most and the orange is growing on me because of the butterfly theme, and I don´t normally like orange that much :) About her butterfly sandals and gold socks. I was also so afraid of breaking them, I put on her sandals First. The first black Loop and then the gold socks. I also did not force the goldsocks through the black loop because it´s so delicate and I can live with how the socks looks. But my poppy is back in her high knee boots and I´m fine that way :)

Really? I found Amaya really easy to open, and I was able to nearly disassemble the box before grabbing the scissors to deal with the plastic ties in her hair.
washing raine's hair was a pain in the ass, that tinsel made it harder for me.

These dolls are sooo pretty! They have so much quality compared to the other doll lines I see in the shelves. It's a shame they are so expensive in my country :(

The children don't lose the hats, shoes, and earrings; the borrowers take them! Seriously though, I really like these dolls. I like them way more than new Barbie stuff, I'm sad to say. I won a Barbie auction on eBay the other day. Fifteen dolls from the 70s and up and I got them for nine dollars and eleven dollars shipping. I thought they would arrive with messy hair but they were all perfect! I didn't have to restore even one of them. I think the seller was mad she didn't get more because she kept the clothes! My favorite in the deal is a Sunset Malibu Barbie in excellent condition

I´m a guy. I´m into action figures and similar and still can say these dolls are really nice.
My favourites dolls form this collection are Poppy and Violet and my least favourite is Jade I’m not really into the style of clothes she is wearing no hate to Billie Eilish (who the doll is clearly taking inspiration from)
