Daphne, Georgia and Sheryl are the fan faves and hard to find NIB. Ever since the reboot was announced everyone's been scrambling to finish their collection or selling them double retail. Simone already going for 60+ on Mercari 🤕
I originally thought the main 6 were "eyes as inverted order". Red has purple eyes, orange has blue, yellow has green.. But green has blue? Blue is also blue? Purple is blue? The theme is lost.
You and I have a similar doll aesthetic, in that I feel less is more in fashion design, I don't care for sports apparel, and I prefer natural eye colors. There are a couple on your list, such as Sabrina, that I didn't like until I swapped out her eyes and repainted her lips. Also, I painted my Michelle's lips to be copper, more like the box art, and I love her now. But straight out of the box, I totally agreed with you.
I think rainbow high and shadow high had a lot off potential, imo it would have been better if they did more unnatural fantasy skin tones like what mlp equestria girls did, it is called rainbow how. My second complaint is that instead of one colour for each doll, the could’ve mixed it up a bit and add a second or third complimentary colour. Another I’m not a big fan of is the body proportions and the serious case of same face syndrome, personally I’d make the heads slightly smaller and the bodies and legs a bit longer. Lastly, it’d be cool if shadow how was more goth, metal, and punk inspired, right now it seems like they only took a bit of alt inspo.

I liked the animated series from seasons 1-3 but season 4 has been a disappointment. They’ve really jumped the shark by introducing the slime pets this latest episode and eventually a fantasy world(?) from what the rumors are saying.
The younger sister drop was a shocker. Sunny and Luna are twins with different color schemes, but their younger sister Daisy only resembles Sunny? They should have named her Dawn or something and had her be less sunny yellow.

a lot of the dolls look fantastic, but the execution can be really questionable sometimes 😭 I want to like Lila so bad, but as an Asian, her design is an absolute mess. some concepts could’ve also been done so much more interestingly, but they end up reusing the same type of fashion and silhouette.
On the topic of brown eyes- Skyler Bradshaw would've looked so, so much better with brown eyes instead of blue. Her design has literally *no reason* to need even more blue. Her hair is blue, her entire bloody outfit is blue, it's the very definition of overkill. A hit of a warmer (and complementary) tone would've helped balance everything out while simultaneously feeling more representative towards a majority of the population. Every time I think about this, I get peeved. It's just as bad as Bella's skin being the exact same colour as her...everything else 🤦🏻♀️
You're not boring, I love the butterfly motif but the only one I really like is the fantastic fashions one. Poppy's stuff is just... Weird. Also, as far as the show goes, I've only watched the most recent season (which operates as a sort of project runway parody) and I really enjoyed it, it was cute. There was a detail to the fashion aspect that I thought was awesome for kids seriously into it (and as someone that sews, I resonated with that lol). I haven't seen the other seasons, I've been putting it off because the animation in season 1 looks a bit off putting to me, lol. Otherwise, I'm so sad to see RH get its soft reboot. I do understand that's just business but... Man I just got here! Literally, I got interested in doll collecting like 8 months ago, and then it took me like 6 months to finally decide I wanted to be a collector. (My first ever was Victoria, seeing her in person literally changed me). I wish I'd gotten to enjoy this for longer, esp with the rush to grab older RH dolls rn, I really should've stopped caring what people think sooner!
Each season of RH is for sure pulling reference to other media, fashion competition, singing competition, multiverse hopping... what can't fashionable teens do?

The rainbow high cartoon starts off good but almost immediately just jumps off the deep dive into being mindless entertainment for children, the characters lose their previous development and they stop acting like the teens they are and act more the the kids the dolls are marketed for. Which I know it makes sense but the show started off so promising!! And other doll shows set in high schools have managed to have characters act their age without seeming like young children so I really don’t know what happened there
If you don’t want to watch the series you should watch Negative Legend! They are a non-binary icon and their videos condense the seasons well and explains the characters and outfits for a good chunk of these dolls!! They’re a lovely person and help me as someone with adhd who can’t sit through the shorts.

All these expensive collector dolls with the exception of Lily went supper cheap. I got Roxy for $17. Maria went to $35.
